Demi Lovato talks moving on from childhood friends
It's not uncommon for people who get sober to change the roster of friends they surround themselves with. That goes for celebs, too. Demi Lovato covers the May issue of Harper's Bazaar, where she opens up about the famous friends she's kept up with and the ones she's moved on from two years after she overdosed. Though Demi has known the Jonas Brothers since she was a Disney kid alongside the singers, the 27-year-old told Bazaar she's no longer in touch with the siblings. She also intimated she may have felt uncomfortable when her former close friend, Selena Gomez, praised her emotional 2020 Grammy Awards performance on her Instagram Story. ("I wish there were words to describe how beautiful, inspirational and DESERVED this moment was," Selena posted at the time. "Demi I'm so happy for you. Thank you for your courage and bravery.") Asked about Selena's words, Demi mused: "When you grow up with somebody, you're always going to have love for them. But I'm not friends with her, so [her Instagram Story post] felt…." After trailing off, she said: "I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best." Demi, who may not have been aware of Selena's own inpatient stints at the time of the interview, also told the outlet Miley Cyrus is the only person from her Disney days that's she's kept in touch with.

North West hilariously trolls Kim Kardashian West as she films stay-at-home PSA
Oh, the joys of parenting in quarantine! Turns out even Kim Kardashian West's mansion isn't big enough for a mom to get two minutes away from her 6-year-old for a good cause. California Gov. Gavin Newsom posted a PSA from Kim this week in which she urged viewers to stay at home to help flatten the coronavirus curves in the state. Her daughter North West apparently decided she should be in the PSA, too. The hilarious clip opens with Kim introducing herself — then being cut off by a tiny, off-camera voice that hollers, "and North West!" As Kim continues with her spiel about the importance of staying home in spite of California's "beautiful weather," North jumps in again, whispering loudly, "I WANT OUT." Like a pro, Kim simply tells North, "You went outside in your backyard, and that's totally fine," before telling viewers they can still go out to exercise. About 30 seconds later, Kim interrupts her own speech to beg North to stop jumping on the bed. "Give me like two seconds to seriously do this," she begs. "We just want you to social distance," Kim says. A tiny face can suddenly be seen peering out from behind her back. "There's so many fun, amazing projects you can do. You can spend time with your kids and have so much fun," Kim says, not fooled for a second by North as she leans back to tickle her. "It's really important to also do mental health checks on your friends and your loved ones," Kim continues. North then jumps in again, telling her mom she should be "more busy" with her "kids, not your friends!" Kim finally laughs. "Facts," she says. "Honestly, staying at home is saving lives, and that's what we're all trying to do here." North weasels into the frame once more. "Alright, that's it," says her mom, giving up. "Stay safe!
Padma Lakshmi responds to critics of her bra-free cooking demo ensemble
Padma Lakshmi shared a PSA of her own this week on social media after a few trolls took issue with the fact she appeared not to have a bra on beneath the gray racerback-style dress she wore in a recent cooking demo post. According to Page Six, it didn't take her long to respond to the negativity. "I got some comments last time that it was immoral for me to not wear a bra in my own kitchen during the quarantine," the chef captioned her next cooking video, which showed her making lasagna at home. "So those people should be happy to note," she continued, "… that I'm wearing two today 😂) But seriously, let's not police women's bodies in 2020 ok?" Padma's fans had already stood up for her by that point, responding to critics with comments like, "We're all here for the cooking which has been amazing. I never even noticed what @padmalakshmi was wearing. Damn grow up 🤬." A second fan responded by asking this poignant question: "Honestly is ANYONE wearing a bra during quarantine?" Truth.

Jane Goodall says her friend Prince Harry's new life has been 'a bit challenging'
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are now a month into their new lives and have announced their charitable venture will be called Archewell and will launch once the world has had time to make more progress on the current virus crisis. For Meghan, life in Canada and now, her hometown of Los Angeles, where the couple recently settled in with their son Archie, is somewhat familiar. It is, of course, a more drastic change for Harry, who's spent his whole life as a British royal. In a new interview with Radio Times (via E! News), Harry's friend, the famous conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall, said she's "been in touch" with Harry since he relocated. "I don't know how his career is going to map out, but yes, I've been in touch, though I think he's finding life a bit challenging just now," she said. She didn't elaborate on those challenges, but she did praise the prince and his brother, Prince William for their interest in environmental issues adding that she suspects Harry will give up the hunting and shooting that have long been traditions in his family. "I think Harry will stop because Meghan doesn't like hunting," she said. "so I suspect that is over for him."
Zooey Deschanel cut and colored Jonathan Scott's hair in quarantine
For those of you in need of a little "sunny side of the street" perspective on our current state of near-global quarantine, "Property Brothers" star — and adorably smitten boyfriend of Zooey Deschanel — Jonathan Scott is pretty much just happy for the excuse to spend concentrated time with his lady. He even let her do his hair! "It has not been difficult at all. It's actually been a blessing," Jonathan said on the Monday, April 13, edition of "The Talk," according to JustJared. "I'm working on the road and filming on the road, so now being here and being together all the time has been fantastic. If I had to pick anyone on the face of the planet to be isolated with, she's the one. Because she's an amazing cook; she's a musician, so there is so much music in this house. She was playing the piano last night. We were singing together," he continued, singing her praises. Oh, and he had one more, too! "And, she also cut and colored my hair just for you guys," he quipped. "So, she did, like, a better job than most of the salons I've ever been to do. So I'm actually really blessed to be enjoying our time together. And she's pretty wonderful."
Lena Dunham, 33, is has a memoir and a book of short stories in the works
Lena Dunham may only be 33, but she's already got enough material for a second memoir — and a new book of fiction. In a recent chat with Kaia Gerber on Instagram Live, the "Girls" creator said she'd already written the collection of short stories and was planning to release it, when some personal life events got in the way. "I wrote a book of [fictional] short stories that is going to come out. I was going to publish that, but then sort of life — you kind of have to go where your attention is," she said, according to Page Six. "I was distracted by a lot of personal stuff that was going on: Transitions and health things, and breakups, and so I thought, I have got to write all this down and that became a memoir." Lena said the memoir is due out in 2021. Her previous autobiographical book was 2014's "Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's 'Learned.'" Earlier this month, Lena told her Instagram followers she's now two years sober.
Lindsay Lohan's forthcoming album is partially inspired by her life in her early 20s
Earlier this year, Lindsay Lohan told fans on social media she was planning to release her third studio album at the end of February on Casablance Records. The album has yet to see the light of day — the pandemic has stymied projects and changed plans across the entertainment world — but she released a new single, "Back To Me," this month and recently checked in with Page Six about the rest of the new music. "It has a lot of memories from my life in California, and a remembrance of things I saw and felt in my life when I was in my early 20s," said the 33-year-old, who's lived in Europe and Dubai for the past few years. "The other tracks on the album are going to be uplifting and fun. The goal for me is to have a fun album that we can dance to." Lindsay said there are plans to shoot videos for some of the tracks, but they're on hold because of the COVID-19 crisis.
