Julie Chen could give up on Les Moonves marriage in light of new allegations

New information from Page Six and the New York Times suggests Julie Chen may finally stop holding onto her marriage to former CBS chief Les Moonves. Though Julie has defended her husband amid multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, a TV source close to Julie tells Page Six it seems very possible the TV personality could change her mind after learning of allegations detailed in a report from the New York Times that include a claim Les had "a staff member on call for oral sex." The longtime network exec has denied that allegation. The Times, meanwhile reported this week that it appeared Les knocked off his allegedly lewd behavior when he married Julie in 2004. The Julie source isn't convinced that's enough to keep the couple together, though. "It did stop when he married her — that's true — but I don't see how she continues in this marriage," said the insider. It doesn't help that Les and Julie's romance started at work at CBS. "Obviously, that shows that Les liked to fish in the company pond," said the Page Six source. According to the New York Times, the report lawyers put together following an investigation of Les claims there were in fact multiple instances in which Les was allegedly involved in "nonconsensual sexual misconduct." The report also says the then network head received oral sex from multiple CBS employees. The Times report says the "on call oral sex" was consensual. It also quotes Les' lawyer as saying his client "never put or kept someone on the payroll for the purpose of sex." Says the Page Six source: "You have to adapt to what is the new normal. This is the time when an individual in situations like this is forced to consider their position and where they go next … There are financial considerations and the overall embarrassment to deal with. But at least Julie's protecting her brand by going back on air. The telling thing now will be when she chooses to make her first public appearance without him." As of Thursday, Dec. 6, neither Julie, Les nor the woman alleged to have been kept on call for sexual services have commented. Julie and Les were seen together in public in Los Angeles last month. The complete report from investigators at CBS, which is also expected to cover information tied to sexual misconduct allegations against Charlie Rose is due at the end of January.

George Clooney and his parents support Amal as she wins United Nations award

Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney just added another impressive title to already inspirational resume. At the U.N. Correspondents Association Awards at Cipriani in New York City on Wednesday, Dec. 5, the 40-year-old was honored with the 2018 UNCA Global Citizen of the Year Award, according to People. Clad in a flowing gown by J. Mendel, Amal attended the event with her husband, George Clooney, and his parents, Nick Clooney and Nina Bruce Warren. When she accepted the award, Amal reportedly focused on the achievements of other people in the room, from the journalists who cover the United Nations and were also being honored that night to her father-in-law, who is also a journalist, whom she praised for raising George so well. Looking ahead, Amal vowed to continue "monitoring the trials of journalists" and said she and George would continue doing what they can to support support reporters around the world financially.

The duo have performed together multiple times since Demi's cameo on Christina's "Liberation" album. After she was released from the hospital following the July overdose, Demi spent three months in a treatment center, where she tackled her addiction issues. She's now reportedly spending a portion of her time in a sober house.

TMZ: Kim Kardashian West defends Kanye West's slavery comments by misstating them

Get ready for more drama around Kanye West's slavery comments. The next episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" delves into the May 1 interview with TMZ in which a clearly "ramped up" Kanye said, "When you hear about slavery for 400 years — for 400 years?! That sounds like a choice. Like, you was there for 400 years and it's all of y'all? It's like we're mentally imprisoned." The declaration set off a storm of controversy at the time — and it's barely died down seven months later. Now, TMZ is taking a closer look at a preview clip from the episode and calling out Kim Kardashian West for defending her husband by misstating his actual quote. First, the website takes aim at Simon Huck, who can be seen in the clip telling Kim Kanye's statement came out the way it did because of "the way they edited" the segment. According to TMZ, "it was not edited." TMZ then points out Kim incorrectly quoted her hubby as having said something (vaguely) less offensive. "If you listen to what he said," Kim tells Simon and Jonathan Cheban in the clip, "he said, 'Slavery was 400 years? If it's gonna be another 400 years, that sounds like a choice to me.' He didn't say, 'Slavery is a choice.'" Since we're mincing words about mincing words here, it should be noted that TMZ's right that Kanye didn't say anything about a future 400 years of slavery in the interview. Kim, however, is likely referring to Kanye's clarification tweets he posted later in the day after the interview aired. "Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will," Kanye tweeted on May 1. "My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved. They cut out our tongues so we couldn't communicate to each other. I will not allow my tongue to be cut." In one of many other tweets that day, Kanye explained: "The reason why I brought up the 400 years point is because we can't be mentally imprisoned for another 400 years. We need free thought now. Even the statement was an example of free thought It was just an idea. Once again I am being attacked for presenting new ideas." Both he and Kim have since said that Kanye "can't control what he says when gets ramped up," presumably from not taking the medication he's been prescribed to help with his bipolar disorder.

As THR's new profile on the star reminds us, Amber is a bit of a superhero herself despite having dropped out of high school. In addition to acting, the 32-year-old has recently spent time working with Syrian refugees in Jordan and embedding herself with asylum seekers in Central America to help with humanitarian aid needs. She also happens to be the first actress named Human Rights Champion of the UN Human Rights Office. When it comes to activism in her chosen field of entertainment, however, she recognizes there's still plenty of wpork that needs to be done. "Hollywood is the slowest to change. It's ironically held up as some bastion of progressive ideals, and yet the reality is the exact opposite," she says. "It's deeply risk-averse and reliant on maintaining the status quo." That might explain why her first high-profile relationship after she divorced Johnny Depp was not with another actor but with Elon Musk, whom she broke up with in 2017. "Elon and I had a beautiful relationship, and we have a beautiful friendship now, one that was based on our core values," Amber muses. The longtime couple have also continued to keep their coparenting promise about their now 5-year-old daughter, Everly, having reunited for a little family-wide trick-or-treating at Halloween in October.

Michael Douglas slams The Hollywood Reporter over sexual misconduct alegations

From Michael Douglas' perspective, The Hollywood Reporter has some explaining to do about the reporting around allegations he masturbated in front of an employee then blackballed her from Hollywood three decades ago. "I was extremely, extremely disappointed in The Hollywood Reporter which has been having a crusade in this area," the 74-year-old, who has unequivocally denied the allegations, said on the "TBD with Tina Brown" podcast on Thursday, Dec. 6, according to Us Weekly. "Now the way this generally works is, somebody makes a charge and then they — if they are responsible — reach out as they did to every person I worked with over 25 years — and they did, because everybody got back to me and there was nobody that ever complemented that accusation. So I thought it was really a misuse of power. Very disappointed."

Meghan Trainor gets candid about anxiety, her health and her upcoming album

After a long hiatus due in part to vocal chord issues, Meghan Trainor is getting ready to release a new album in 2019. Speaking to Euphoria magazine this month, the singer opened up about the album's title, "Treat Myself," and some of the other issues she's been batling, including anxiety. "[The title] symbolizes a moment in my life that I had after my second [vocal] surgery, where I kind of crumbled emotionally and physically. My body just kinda gave up on me and I had to remind myself that I can say 'no' and that I have to focus on myself and treat myself," Meghan said, according to JustJared. Her body wasn't the only thing that gave out on her. Meghan's anxiety took over at some point and it was only finding that another person in her orbit was suffering from something similar that helped her out of it. "I couldn't explain it to my own parents — like, they didn't understand when I was like 'my head's on fire, my back feels like someone has a flame to it' or 'I have nausea and I don't know why' and it was just 'cause my adrenals were all messed up," she explained. "Hearing Carson Daly explain exactly how I felt was better than a doctor; it was like 'Oh, a regular human being who is in the industry feels like I do' and I told him 'you don't know how much that saved me.'"
