2018 BET Awards winner, show and fashion highlights
The 2018 BET Awards, hosted by Jamie Foxx on June 24, were packed with flamboyant fashion, solid performances and memorable acceptance speeches. Major winners of the night include "Black Panther" for best movie, Tiffany Haddish for best actress, Bruno Mars for best male R&B/pop artist, Cardi B for best female hip-hop artist and DJ Khaled (pictured), Rihanna and Bryson Tiller for best collaboration for "Wild Thoughts."

Wynonna Judd's daughter sentenced to 8 years in prison
Country music star Wynonna Judd's daughter, Grace Pauline Kelley, was sentenced to eight years in prison for violating her probation in a meth case, Radar Online revealed on June 25. The 22 year old left a court-mandated recovery program in November 2017 before she'd completed treatment. She was sent there after she pleaded guilty to drug charges including meth manufacture, delivery, sale and possession with intent.
Grammy Awards expands nominations in top categories from 5 to 8
The Grammy Awards is expanding the number of nominees in the record, song and album of the year and best new artist categories from five to eight, according to a statement released by the Recording Academy on June 26. The changes will take effect for the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in 2019.

Meek Mill's request for a new trial denied
A Philadelphia judge denied Meek Mill's request for a new trial in his drug and weapons case on June 26 despite support from the district attorney's office. The rapper's attorneys argued that the police officer who testified in Meek's case was not credible.
Taylor Swift granted 5-year restraining order against knife-wielding man
On June 27, a judge approved Taylor Swift's request for a five-year restraining order against a masked man who broke into her home with a knife in his possession. Julius Sandrock has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the singer after being arrested outside of Taylor's Beverly Hills property in April with rope and ammunition in his car.
Ray Davies says The Kinks will reunite, talks 2004 shooting
Ray Davies has opened up about The Kinks reuniting and his recovery from a 2004 robbery-turned-shooting. The rocker confirmed to Britain's Channel 4 news on June 26 that he, brother Dave Davies and Mick Avory — the last three surviving band members — will soon be working on their first album in more than 20 years.
Stars we lost this week
Jackson family patriarch Joe Jackson, the father of music icons Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson, died at 89 on June 27 from pancreatic cancer. Drummer Vinnie Paul, a founding member of the heavy-metal band Pantera, died on June 22 at 54. A cause of death has yet to be reported. Celebrated Cuban singer Xiomara Alfaro died on June 24 at 88 from respiratory failure. Dan Ingram, a New York DJ and pioneer of AM Top 40 radio, died on June 24 at age 83. He choked on a piece of steak.
Bee Gees frontman Barry Gibb knighted at Buckingham Palace
Barry Gibb was honored with a knighthood at Buckingham Palace on June 26. Prince Charles led the ceremony, which honored the Bee Gees frontman for his services to music and charity.
