Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala are set to headline the 2019 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in April. Organizers announced the star-studded lineup on Jan. 2. "Humbled and excited as all hell @coachella thank u," Ariana wrote on Instagram.

Madonna gifted fans with a surprise performance at New York City's historic Stonewall Inn on New Year's Eve. The legendary singer made an appearance at the famed bar shortly after midnight and performed "Like a Prayer" with her son, David Ritchie. "I just wanna say I've never performed on a stage this small," she joked before saying, "You survived 2018? Are you happy to say, 'Goodbye, b—-?' I do have some serious things to say. 2019 is the year I start wearing glasses."

Jimmy Osmond recovering after suffering stroke during "Peter Pan" performance
Jimmy Osmond suffered a stroke during a performance of "Peter Pan" at the Birmingham Hippodrome Theater in Birmingham, England, on Dec. 27. The singer, who starred as Captain Hook, reportedly soldiered through the show before going to the hospital. "He is grateful for all the well wishes and will be taking time out in the New Year," a spokesperson told BBC News.

Woodstock 50th anniversary festival to be held at original location
Music fans, get ready! A music festival to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock is coming soon. The Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival, a three-day golden anniversary music spectacular, will be held on the original Woodstock site on Aug. 15-18, 2019, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts announced on Dec. 29.
Olivia Newton-John pokes fun at death rumors in new video
Olivia Newton-John wants her fans to know that she's healthy and happy. The singer, who is battling cancer for the third time, addressed a report claiming that she's gravely ill in a video posted to Facebook on Jan. 2. "Happy New Year, everyone! This is Olivia Newton-John, and I just want to say that the rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated, to quote the famous [Mark Twain] quote," the 70-year-old "Grease" alum joked. Chris Brown facing misdemeanor charges for illegal possession of monkey
Chris Brown was charged with two misdemeanors on Dec. 28 after authorities saw him posting images of an exotic pet monkey on Instagram, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office. The singer is facing two counts of possessing a capuchin monkey without a permit between Oct. 31, 2017, and Jan. 3, 2018, officials said.

Pegi Young (pictured), a musician and activist who co-founded the Bridge School with former husband Neil Young, died on Jan. 1 at age 66 after a year-long battle with cancer. Daryl Dragon, the frontman and "captain" of "The Captain and Tennille," died on Jan. 2 at age 76. Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show singer Ray Sawyer died on Dec. 31 at age 81 after a short illness. Norman Gimbel, the lyricist who penned Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly With His Song" and the themes to "Happy Days" and "Laverne & Shirley," died on Dec. 19 at age 91. Mike "Beard Guy" Taylor, keyboardist and vocalist in Walk Off the Earth, died on Dec. 30 from natural causes.
