Women were the talk of the town at the 2019 Grammys where they won major awards and sang and played in the majority of the telecast's performances on Feb. 10. Kacey Musgraves took home the trophy for album of the year, while Cardi B won for best rap album (the first solo woman to ever do so) and Jennifer Lopez dominated the stage during a Motown tribute. J.Lo also made headlines for her questionable fashion choices including a giant hat on the red carpet.
Ryan Adams accused of sexual misconduct, abuse by multiple women
Musician Ryan Adams has been accused of sexual misconduct, abuse and harassment in a new expose from The New York Times that was published on Feb. 13. The singer allegedly committed numerous offenses against several women, including allegedly sexting a 14-year-old girl and being "psychologically abusive" toward his ex-wife, "This Is Us" actress Mandy Moore. He has denied the claims.
ICE drops the charge against 21 Savage that led to deportation order
Attorneys for Immigration and Customs Enforcement dropped aggravated felony charges against 21 Savage as the reason for his deportation, according to reports published on Feb. 13. (A previous drug conviction was vacated, making it off-limits legally, it's been argued.) The rapper's legal team told Buzzfeed that authorities are now only seeking his deportation on the basis that he came to America from his native Britain in 2005 and overstayed his visa as a child.
Lindsey Buckingham in recovery after open-heart surgery
Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham is recuperating at home after undergoing open-heart surgery earlier this month. His wife, Kristen, shared the news on Lindsey's official Facebook page on Feb. 8, writing, "While he and his heart are doing well, the surgery resulted in vocal cord damage. While it is unclear if the damage is permanent, we are hopeful it is not."
British rapper Cadet killed in car crash
Cadet, an up-and-coming rapper from the United Kingdom, was killed on Feb. 9 after he was involved in a car accident. The performer, whose real name is Blaine Cameron Johnson, was on his way to Keele University for a show when the accident occurred. He was 28 years old.
Miranda Lambert allegedly dumps salad on woman during argument
Miranda Lambert is facing backlash after she reportedly dumped her salad on a woman's lap following an argument on Feb. 12. The country singer allegedly got into the altercation after her friend and another male guest began arguing at the Stoney River Steakhouse in Nashville. Police reportedly responded to the scene but didn't file a report of the incident.
Jennifer Lopez announces new tour in celebration of her 50th birthday
Jennifer Lopez is going back on tour! The superstar singer announced that she will be touring the States in celebration of her 50th birthday in July. "This summer, I decided I wanted to do something big for my birthday, since it's a big birthday," she told Ellen DeGeneres on Feb. 13. "I'm going on a U.S. tour, it's called 'It's My Party'… We're only doing 25, 28 shows, something like that. It's just a small amount of shows, but we'll be out all through June and July."
Keith Richards opens up about quitting hard liquor, cigarettes
Keith Richards is all about his new healthy lifestyle. In a new interview with MOJO magazine, the Rolling Stones guitarist revealed that he has given up hard liquor and cigarettes after partying a little too hard for his 75th birthday in December. "By January 1, you're knackered. And that's a good way to start a New Year, right?! I'm drying out now! I've knocked the hard stuff on the head. I have a little wine with meals, and a Guinness or a beer or two, but otherwise… no. It's like heroin — the experiment is over," he said.
