CBS announced on March 11 that "The Big Bang Theory" will come to an end with an hour-long finale episode on May 16.
"Days of Our Lives" and "Santa Barbara" star Jed Allan dies at 84
"Days of Our Lives" and "Santa Barbara" actor Jed Allan — who also portrayed Steve Sanders' dad on "Beverly Hills, 90210" — died at 84 in Palm Desert, California, on March 9, his son, Rick Brown, announced on Facebook. "He died peacefully and was surrounded by his family and loved so much by us and so many others," he wrote.

Catholic leaders demand "Saturday Night Live" apologize for "alarming" Pete Davidson sex abuse joke
Pete Davidson drew ire from the Catholic Church's Diocese of Brooklyn for a joke he made during the March 9 episode of "Saturday Night Live" comparing people who listen to R. Kelly's music in spite of the sex abuse charges against the R&B star to people who go to Catholic church despite sex abuse allegations against a multitude of clergy members. On March 11, the Diocese of Brooklyn released a statement "demanding an immediate public apology from 'Saturday Night Live' and NBC" for the "disgraceful and offensive skit."

"Full House" plotline foreshadowed Lori Loughlin's current legal trouble
A 1993 episode of "Full House" foreshadowed the college admission scandal in which Lori Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, are currently embroiled. (They've been charged with fraud for allegedly paying $500,000 to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California by posing as student athletes.) On an episode titled "Be True to Your Preschool," John Stamos's Uncle Jesse falsifies documents to get his twin sons with Lori's Aunt Becky into an elite preschool. Ultimately, Becky convinces him it's a bad idea and that their kids don't need to lie to get on "the fast track" to their educations.

On the March 12 episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the late-night host gave "The Bachelor" star Colton Underwood and girlfriend Cassie Randolph a Neil Lane sparkler to use when they're ready to get engaged. (According to "Entertainment Tonight," it's unclear whether or not the bling is real.) The couple have said that they're waiting to get engaged later in their relationship.
"Storage Wars" star suffers heart attack
"Storage Wars" star Darrell Sheets took to Instagram on March 12 to reveal that he'd been hospitalized after suffering a mild heart attack. "I've been very sick for 3 months and two nights ago I had a mild heart attack, found out I have congestive heart failure and a severe issue going on with my lung," he captioned a photo of himself reclining in a hospital bed with his wife, Romney. He went on to say that he was scheduled for surgery later that day. Though he hasn't acknowledged the surgery again publicly, he's posted on Instagram every day since, indicating that he's doing OK.

Whoopi Goldberg makes surprise visit to "The View," hopes to be back "next week"
Whoopi Goldberg returned to "The View" on March 14 for the first time since Feb. 5. The actress-comedian, who surprised her co-hosts with her brief appearance on the talk show, has been recovering from a health crisis — pneumonia in both lungs and sepsis — that nearly killed her. "This is my first foray out," she said. "I'm not there yet, I know that. But the only way it's going to get better is if I begin, so this is my beginning. … I still have a cough, and that's the last thing to go, apparently, but over the next week and a half, I will start to be here more often."
