Demi Lovato didn't consult her team when she suddenly dropped her new breakup song on Twitter, a new report states.
The abrupt release of "Still Have Me" sent her team into a frenzy.
On Sept. 30, TMZ said "her team is scrambling to get the single on streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify so that fans can purchase it and streaming numbers can be collected."
"Music is always there for me…" Demi wrote alongside her Twitter post.
The new report states that Demi and several friends wrote the song a while ago. After her split from fiancé Max Ehrich, she changed some of the lyrics to reflect heartbreak.
"I'm a mess and I'm still broken … I don't have much but at least I still have me … and that's all I need," the lyrics state in the song. She continues, "All the highs and now just lows. But it doesn't even matter, cause I'd rather be alone. All my life disappeared and I'm laying right here while the silence is piercing … and it hurts to breathe."
The leak of the song comes a week after Demi and Max split and called off their engagement. However, things took a bizarre turn when Max claimed that he learned of the split via the media, something Demi's inner circle disputed. Then, Max claimed they hadn't "officially" broken up because they hadn't spoken to each other. Demi's team again claimed otherwise. He then pleaded for Demi to take him back. Somewhere in there Max also claimed Demi's manager, Scooter Braun, was trying to muzzle him.
TMZ adds that Demi didn't want to wait to release the song because she was so embarrassed and frustrated with the soap actor's antics.
