Duchess Kate was all smiles at Wimbledon.
Kate, an avid tennis fan, sat in the royal box to see Andy Murray defeat Alexander Bublik. And although the match was stopped twice due to rain, the Duchess was anything but gloomy.
Kate was seen clapping and laughing throughout the match while intently watching the action on Centre Court on July 3.
During the day, she also chatted with Austrian player Dominic Thiem and Polish tennis star Agnieszka Radwanska. She mistakenly asked them about their matches, not realizing they actually played the previous day.
"That's why you're so relaxed!," she said, according to the DailyMail.com. During the same conversation, she was asked if she plays tennis, to which she replied, "Yes, but not to any standard!"
Before the matches started on July 3, Kate, dressed in a black and white polka dot Dolce and Gabbana dress, spoke to the ball boys and ball girls. She told them them that their participation "makes the game happen."
Over the years, Kate has often been seen at Wimbledon, but her doctor temporarily banned her from attending in 2013 while she was pregnant with Prince George. Andy Murray won that year's tournament.
"I was very heavily pregnant," she told Sue Barker in a candid BBC documentary. "I wrote to him [Andy] afterwards saying sorry for not being there."
Kate and Prince William's love of tennis is well-documented and even built a tennis court at their Anmer Hall home.
"Being able to go into Wimbledon and be part of an amazing atmosphere is special," Kate said, adding that she wonders if she could have had a career in tennis.
"[Tennis] inspires young people including myself," she said. "Every time Wimbledon is on I am thinking, 'Yes, I could do the same' and get out the racket. Sadly, not the same results."
