Kate Hudson is focused on family right now.
On Friday, Jan. 8, the 41-year-old actress released the latest episode of her "Sibling Revelry" podcast with brother Oliver Hudson, 44. During the episode, the mom of three admits it would be "nice" to connect with her half siblings from her estranged father, Bill Hudson, as well as Kurt Russell's son.
"I was thinking — I've been thinking a lot about Dad. I've been thinking about our sisters, that we don't spend any time with, and our brother. Brothers. We've got four siblings we don't spend any time with," she said.
"I was thinking about how everybody's getting older," she continued. "I just had this moment of like, it would be nice to connect a little bit, especially with my sisters."
Bill was married to Goldie Hawn from 1976 to 1982; they had two children together: Kate and Oliver. He also has two children from his marriage to Cindy Williams — Emily and Zachary — as well as a daughter, Lalania, from a different relationship. Kate has long considered Kurt, who has been with her mother since 1983, her father, affectionately calling him "Pa." Kurt has a 40-year-old son with ex Season Hubley, Boston, and a son with Goldie, Wyatt Russell, who is close with his older half-siblings.
"We've been talking so much about sibling relationships and distraught relationships," Kate explained. "And we're sitting here like, 'We've got the best family, we're so great.' And yet, we don't ever acknowledge the fact that we have four other siblings — four. So I've been thinking a lot about the Hudsons. Thinking that it's important that we reach out with all of our siblings and maybe connect with them a little bit."
Despite the lack of parent-child relationships between the Hudsons, the Fabletics founder has tried to mend bridges in the past, publicly forgiving her biological father.
"I really do recognize whatever those issues are, it's just something that he has to live with," she said of Bill in 2016. "That must be painful for him, so I forgive him."
