Although Kate Moss's man, Nikolai Von Bismarck, has put a ring on it, don't go out running to get them a wedding gift yet… In fact, despite her new bauble, they're not engaged.
Fans had been questioning Kate's relationship status when she began wearing a diamond sparkler on her ring finger. In a new chat, the model said she made her man give her the ring as a gift.
"Oh, no, I'm not engaged. It's more like, I'm in a relationship, I'm committed," she told Telegraph Luxury. "I think after you've been married, that finger feels a bit empty. It was an 'I'm going out with you, and I have a very empty finger, so give me a ring' kind of present."
Nikolai, Kate's man of five years, didn't have to be coaxed into getting her the gift, she said.
"I like going jewelry shopping with Nikolai — he's into it," she said. "I think some men take just as much pleasure in giving jewelry as we do in receiving it."
For Kate, jewelry is basically a way of life. She often wears jewelry, even at unexpected places, such as in the ocean.
While she certainly appreciates the newest bauble in her collection, Kate's most meaningful ring came via her ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack, who presented her with jewelry 18 years ago when they welcomed their daughter Lila.
"When I gave birth to Lila, Jefferson bought me a diamond eternity ring, which is gorgeous. I'll give it to her one day," Kate said.
In speaking about Lila, who is following in her mom's footsteps as a model, Kate said, "She likes all the girly jewelry; she's not into antiques yet, so my jewelry is safe, for the moment."
