Kristen Stewart says newly sworn in President Donald Trump was "obsessed" with her. She notes Trump's focus on her was a number of years ago when he was a reality star hosting NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice." The topic of Trump, whose inauguration took place earlier on Friday, came up in a larger interview Stewart gave about her directorial debut, Come Swim, at the Sundance Film Festival.
When asked about Trump, Stewart told Variety, "He was mad at me a couple years ago, really obsessed with me a couple years ago, which is f—— crazy." She noted, "At that point, he was a reality star. He's probably going to tweet about this!" As Gossip Cop reported back in 2012, following the actress's indiscretion with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, Trump voiced his support for her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson in a series of tweets.
Trump first wrote back then, "Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again-just watch. He can do much better!" That was followed by a second tweet that read, "Everyone knows I am right that Robert Pattinson should dump Kristen Stewart. In a couple of years, he will thank me. Be smart, Robert."
Trump returned to the subject of Stewart shortly thereafter with yet another tweet that stated, "After Friday's Twilight release, I hope Robert Pattinson will not be seen in public with Kristen-she will cheat on him again!"
As Gossip Cop noted, Stewart premiered Come Swim at Sundance on Thursday. But since she had to promote the film on Inauguration Day, several of her interviews turned political and touched on Trump.
