The BAFTAs are one of the most fashionable events in London, where the stars flock to see who takes home top prize at the prestigious award ceremony. But not everyone dons their red carpet best! When it came time to add accessories to Salma Hayek's black gown, she opted for what looked like the world's fanciest hair net. The blinged-out hair accessory, which was held in place with diamond accents, was bordered with a braid on one side and a sleek bun on the other — an odd addition.
Almost, but not quite! That seems to be the theme of Rachel Brosnahan's award season wardrobe. She followed up her recent lackluster looks with this green Erdem gown at the BAFTAs, which started out fine but lost us with that giant bedazzled bow at the waist.
Timothee Chalamet is making up for fashion missteps earlier this award season! We adored his Haider Ackermann look — a patterned suit jacket with a matching dress shirt underneath. Since the top was so busy, extra points for keeping the pants and boots super-simple and all-black.

If Margot Robbie was still in award contention for her performance in "I, Tonya," we might have loved this dose of figure skater couture. But that was last year, so we're befuddled as to why she went with this bedazzled and tulle-adorned Chanel Haute Couture design. Equally disappointing? Her makeup, which we'll get to next…
To contrast with Margot Robbie's over-the-top Chanel couture, it might have been smart to go more demure with the makeup. But Margot didn't get that memo, instead opting for all-over electric blue eyeshadow that didn't mesh with her peach lip and solidified this look as a miss.
Olivia Colman continued her classy award-season fashion reign at the BAFTAs. This time in a timeless confection — a white, short-sleeved bodice and a glam black skirt with a train.
We applaud Mary J. Blige for the fashion risk, but this look was all over the place. From the blazer with one half embellished in gold and one half plain and belted to the half-hearted train on the side, less would have been more when it came to this Ralph & Russo look.

We weren't wild about Viola Davis's black and white Armani Prive gown. We couldn't tell if that detail at the neckline was a lopsided bow or what exactly was happening with the stark white addition to this otherwise sleek black gown.
Linda Cardellini looked like a chic prima ballerina at the BAFTAs in this strapless confection. The tea-length gown featured a fitted bodice, silver detailing at the waist and a full tulle skirt. We loved the way her silver heels complemented the dress detail, finishing off this look flawlessly.
Yalitza Aparicio brought her best look to the BAFTAs! The actress stunned in this vampy red number by Alberta Ferretti — complete with a sweetheart neckline and a full skirt.
If Cynthia Erivo wanted to get attention on the BAFTAs red carpet, she succeeded. If she wanted to land on the best dressed list, she did not. The actress donned this hideous strapless peach Vera Wang gown with an inordinate amount of tulle that gave way to even more tulle in lilac.
Michelle Yeoh looked like royalty on the BAFTAs red carpet. This exquisite blue-gray gown featured subtle, stunning embellishments, and we loved the draping along the sleeves that brought just the right amount of drama.
There are very few people in the world who could pull off a purple suit. And even fewer who could rock one with gold shoes. But somehow, Spike Lee pulled it off not once but twice! The iconic director donned the same edgy Versace number that he wore to the Golden Globes to this year's BAFTAs as well, and why not? He already knew he had a fashion hit the first time around with the custom look, so it would be a sure thing this time too!
Lady in red! Octavia Spencer donned this darling off-the-shoulder number for her big night at the BAFTAs. We loved the gown's delicate embellishments and tiny belt detail.
Millie Mackintosh looked like a fairy princess in this pale pink ruffled confection. We loved the delicate details along the sleeves and the way the skirt featured cascading layers of ruffled tulle.
Edith Bowman might take the cake for thinking outside the box when it came to BAFTAs fashion… but that wasn't necessarily a good thing. The star arrived in this quirky look complete with a dramatic ruffled collar and matching ruffles on the sleeves and hemline. Despite that excess, this look might not have been a total loss… until we focused on the odd bodice, which didn't match the pale pink printed sleeves and skirt with its stark black background and bizarre red floral design.
We love an unexpected color combo on the red carpet! Olga Kurylenko dazzled in a phenomenal purple-and-red confection with a sleek silhouette and fitted short sleeves.
Yikes! Tanya Burr embraced the awful all-over sheer trend in this black getup comprised of essentially a bodysuit underneath a studded and completely sheer layer of tulle. Thank you, next!
Tatiana Korsakova brought a pop of pink to the BAFTAs red carpet in the form of this pretty, structured gown. From the bubblegum pink top with its ruffled, off-the-shoulder detail to the fitted white skirt with — you guessed it! — more ruffles, we liked the interesting architecture of this unique dress.
