A new generation of hot, young models have totally taken over the runway, but it seems like just yesterday that they were learning how to take their first steps! Kaia Gerber, the daughter of iconic supermodel Cindy Crawford, for example, was only 10 years old when she scored her first gig — as the face of Young Versace in 2012 (she's seen her with her mom and brother, Presley Gerber, in 2010). Now that she's all grown up and set to celebrate her 18th birthday on Sept. 3, 2019, Wonderwall.com is taking a look at Kaia and more model kids before and after. Get clicking!

Genetics are definitely on Kaia Gerber 's side! Looking more and more like her model mom, Cindy Crawford, with age, Kaia's career has skyrocketed. Since making her catwalk debut for Calvin Klein in 2017, she's hit the runway for huge fashion brands like Alexander Wang (pictured in 2019), Burberry, Chanel, Moschino, Prada, Valentino and Versace. In 2018, she became the face of Marc Jacobs' Daisy fragrance campaign and landed her very first solo cover for Vogue Paris. But most major of all, she collaborated with the late Karl Lagerfeld to design her own collection, Karl x Kaia, before the design icon passed away. Ahead of her 18th birthday, Kaia continued to build momentum in the modeling world, having amassed 4.5 million Instagram followers. In 2019 alone, she scored all of Jimmy Choo's seasonal campaigns and starred in a music video for musician John Eatherly (much like her mama, who made a cameo in George Michael's video for "Freedom" back in the '90s).

As a kid, Kendall Jenner was already in the spotlight thanks to her family's E! reality show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," but she wanted to make a name for herself independent of her famous sisters. In 2009, momager Kris Jenner scored a 14-year-old Kendall a contract with Wilhelmina Models. The teen quickly booked her first job starring in a campaign for Forever 21.
Kendall Jenner has come a long way since shooting for Forever 21 as a young teen. So much so that she knocked supermodel Gisele Bundchen out of the top spot to claim the title of world's highest paid model in 2018, thanks to her estimated earnings of $22 million. Kendall once dominated the teen modeling world with features in Teen Vogue and a juniors clothing line with sister Kylie Jenner, but she's taken over high fashion in her early 20s. Kendall has strutted her stuff for almost every major designer and been the face of campaigns for Givenchy, Balmain, Karl Lagerfeld, Fendi, Estée Lauder and Calvin Klein. Her resume also includes editorial spreads in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Vanity Fair, GQ and Marie Claire. To top it off, the single star (she split from NBA pro Ben Simmons in 2019) was given a set of coveted Angel wings to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show two years in a row.
Gigi Hadid, whose mom, Yolanda Hadid, was also model, started her career at just 2 years old when designer Paul Marciano put her in front of the camera for Baby Guess. (She's seen here at 17, but check out an early toddler modeling shot here.)
Though Gigi Hadid did her first professional photoshoot as a toddler, she took a hiatus from modeling to focus on school before jump-starting her career again at 17. She picked up right where she left off, starring in a campaign for Guess before officially signing with IMG Models and making her catwalk debut for Desigual at New York Fashion Week in 2014. Cut to today: Gigi has become a multi-faceted mainstay in modeling, having shut down shows for Chanel, Max Mara, Michael Kors, Versace, Isabel Marant and Victoria's Secret (to name a few). She's also designed her own lines with Tommy Hilfiger, Reebok and Vogue Eyewear. Gigi also became a pop culture personality thanks to a cameo in pal Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" video and high-profile romances with the likes of Cody Simpson, Zayn Malik and, most recently, "The Bachelorette" hunk Tyler Cameron. But it's Gigi's modeling prowess that's kept her in the spotlight. Remarkably, she's also appeared on the covers of the "big four" editions of Vogue (America, Britain, France and Italy) before she even turned 25. Despite openly dealing with Hashimoto's disease, an autoimmune condition that damages the thyroid gland, she shows no signs of slowing down.
Bella Hadid showed interest in modeling a bit later in life than older sister Gigi Hadid in part because her battle with Lyme disease hindered her childhood dreams of becoming an equestrian. Bella (seen here at 18) was 16 years old when she started booking commercial gigs for the likes of Flynn Skye and Chrome Hearts.
Bella Hadid signed with IMG models just a year after sister Gigi Hadid and also made her runway debut at the Desigual show during New York Fashion Week in 2014. They've continued to work together in campaigns for Fendi and Moschino, as well as on the Victoria's Secret catwalk, but Bella's also become a force to be reckoned with in her own right. She's the brand ambassador for Dior Beauty, Bulgari and TAG Heuer. Plus she's built quite the impressive haute couture resume abroad having walked for the likes of Chanel, Givenchy, Miu Mui, Alexandre Vauthier, Bottega Veneta, Balmain and Versace during fashion weeks in Paris, London, Rome and Milan. Bella's on-off relationship with pop star The Weeknd has also kept her in the headlines since they first went public in 2015 when she starred in his music video for "In the Night." After a breakup and makeup (or two), they decided to part ways again in 2019.
Cara Delevingne was a mere 10 years old when she booked her first modeling job: an editorial for Vogue Italia (she's seen here a few months earlier in 2002). She didn't actually sign with Storm Management until 2009, but her career's been on an incline ever since.
Nearly two decades later, Cara Delevingne's still a beauty with an edgy sense of style that she's used to catapult herself to the top as a model, designer, actress, musician and writer. Cara's breakout year came in 2012: She was cast in a big campaign for Burberry and walked in more than 50 shows at fashion weeks in New York, Paris, London and Milan as well as for Victoria's Secret. Off the runway, she scored a role in her first film, "Anna Karenina," and recorded two albums, though she ultimately turned down a record deal. The openly bisexual star, who's been in a relationship with actress Ashley Benson since 2018, then added author to her resume with the release of the young-adult LGBT novel "Mirror, Mirror" in 2017. Now in her late 20s, Cara's designed her own lines for DKNY and Mulberry and been the face of Rimmel, Chanel and Jimmy Choo. She's also starred in big movies like "Suicide Squad" and "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets." In 2019, she made a cameo in Halsey's "Nightmare" music video.
Sofia Richie grew up in the public eye with a famous father, musician Lionel Richie, and a socialite sister, Nicole Richie, so it wasn't that surprising when she expressed interest in modeling at around 13 years old (she's seen here at 12 in 2011). She booked her first real gig a year later, starring in a feature for Teen Vogue.
Sofia Richie doesn't have many runway credits to her name — she's only 5 feet, 6 inches tall — but that hasn't stopped her editorial career from exploding. The beauty, who's now in her early 20s, has been featured in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Michael Kors, Fendi, Tommy Hilfiger and Adidas and graced the pages of high-end magazines like ELLE, Vanity Fair and Complex. Sofia is also reportedly designing her own fashion label, Sofia Stone. We wonder if she'll end up doing a collab with boyfriend Scott Disick (who's 15 years her senior), who in 2019 dropped his Talentless athleisure collection.
Karlie Kloss got her big break at 14 when she booked her first modeling job as the cover star of Scene Magazine's June 2006 issue. The 6-foot-2 bombshell did a bit of work for Abercrombie Kids too and became a full-fledged runway model in 2008, walking in 64 fashion shows her very first season!
Karlie Kloss is only in her late 20s, but she boasts a nearly 15-year modeling resume with an extensive list of runway shows, ad campaigns and editorials all over the world. In 2019, the seasoned industry pro signed on to replace Heidi Klum as the host of the Bravo design competition series "Project Runway" after taking a hiatus from the catwalk since settling down with new hubby Joshua Kushner in 2018. Karlie, who also has her own YouTube vlog called "Klossy," can afford to take a little break since Vogue Paris already dubbed her one of the top 30 models of the 2000s. We're more concerned about her hiatus from former bestie Taylor Swift, whom she posed alongside for the cover of Vogue in 2015. Karlie went from starring in Taylor's music video for "Bad Blood" to actually allegedly having bad blood with her over something trivial.
Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid aren't the only ones in the family with modeling careers: Their younger brother, Anwar Hadid, jumped on the train at 16 years old, making his debut on the pages of Nylon in 2015.
Now all grown up, Anwar Hadid — who, as of 2019, was dating "One Kiss" singer Dua Lipa — has become one of fashion's hottest young male models. Signed to IMG Models like his sisters, Anwar made his runway debut for Moschino in 2016 and hasn't missed a beat since, walking for Zadig & Voltaire, H&M x Moschino, Tod's (pictured), Prabal Gurung and Tommy Hilfiger. He's also done big editorial spreads for Teen Vogue, Vogue Arabia and Paper Magazine and has served as the face of Hugo Boss' HUGO menswear line. Not too shabby for a 20 year old!
Hailey Baldwin — now Hailey Bieber — initially wanted to be a ballet dancer but turned to modeling after a foot injury got in the way. The beauty, whose father is actor Stephen Baldwin, got her (other) foot in the modeling door when she was 15 (she's pictured here in 2011) though she didn't end up making her official runway debut, for Topshop, until 2014.
Hailey Bieber, who's now in her early 20s, has since come into her own as an established all-American model with campaigns for French Connection, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, H&M, UGG footwear and Guess under her belt. The blonde beauty has also taken to the catwalk for the likes of Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana, Elie Saab and Tory Burch with appearances at each of the "Big Four" fashion weeks worldwide. She can also boast about her features in Vogue, Glamour, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar and ELLE. Hailey most recently signed on as the face of Levi's Jeans. She and pop star Justin Bieber eloped in 2018, choosing to say their vows privately at a New York City courthouse.
Chanel Iman started modeling at 12 and got her big break when she signed with Ford Models by the time she was 14 (she's pictured here in 2004).
Nowadays, Chanel Iman switches between walking the runway and chasing after her toddler daughter with NFL pro hubby Sterling Shepard. She's kept up with her modeling appearances, most recently strutting her stuff for Christian Siriano (pictured), even after announcing her second pregnancy in August 2019. The model mom was once an official Victoria's Secret Angel who walked in their brand's famed annual fashion show three times from 2009 to 2011. Now in her late 20s, Chanel has multiple high-fashion credits to her name including editorials for Allure, Vogue, ELLE, Vanity Fair and Harper's Bazaar. Plus she's on Vogue Paris's list of the top 30 models of the 2000s.
