Hollywood is up in arms after learning that Michelle Williams earned a small fraction of what Mark Wahlberg was paid for their "All The Money in the World" reshoots late last year. On Jan. 9, reports indicated that the actress made just $80 a day for 10 days of reshoots, which were ordered after filmmakers decided to cut Kevin Spacey from the movie amid his sexual misconduct scandal and replace him with actor Christopher Plummer. There are differing reports as to what Mark made: The Washington Post said he earned $2 million, while USA Today claimed he made $1.5 million. Either way, the difference is huge. Enter Hollywood. "Shameful indeed. And this is a movie about how greedy and heartless men can be," Billy Eichner tweeted. Jessica Chastain wrote, "Please go see Michelle's performance in All The Money in The World. She's a brilliant Oscar nominated Golden Globe winning actress. She has been in the industry for 20 yrs. She deserves more than 1% of her male costar's salary." Reese Witherspoon called it "absolutely unacceptable." Jesse Tyler Ferguson also weighed in, writing, "Michelle Williams is one of the best actress working right now. It makes me furious that her talent is undervalued in this way. #EqualPay." What's interesting is that Mark and Michelle share the same talent agency, WME, which presumably knew how much each was being compensated. On Jan. 11, a report on TMZ claimed that director Ridley Scott was under the impression that his actors were doing the reshoots for free — and he's livid about the pay difference.

Engaged
On Jan. 8, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk finally confirmed that they are engaged. The duo announced the news in Goop's Sex and Love issue. "We feel incredibly lucky to have come together at this juncture in our lives, when our collective successes and failures can serve as building blocks for a healthy and happy relationship," they said in a joint statement. Gwyneth then gushed about her man. "Personally, at midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be," she explained. "I have decided to give it a go again, not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy." Reports that the actress and the writer-producer were secretly engaged first surfaced in November 2017.

Splitsville
Few saw this coming. Lena Dunham and her boyfriend of five years, musician-producer Jack Antonoff, have split up. E! News reported on Jan. 8 that the breakup, which happened in December, was amicable. "It was mutual," a source said. "Jack and Lena were growing apart and it just made sense for them to end their relationship where it was. They want the best for each other no matter what. They are both moving on." In fact, Lena said she'll always wear a ring he gave her. "I'm wearing this ring that Jack gave me and I'll always wear it, because love is a really cool, powerful, eternal thing and it doesn't have to be defined the way we in Western culture define it as beginnings and ends," she said in an Instagram video. On Jan. 11, a report from Us Weekly claimed that Jack was already dating someone new, an unnamed musician.

Sexual misconduct claims
Five women came forward this week to accuse James Franco of inappropriate or sexually exploitive behavior. On Jan. 11, the Los Angeles Times published a story in which five women told different tales. One actress recalled shooting an orgy scene in which, she claimed, James "removed protective plastic guards covering the actresses' vaginas while simulating oral sex on them." James' lawyer disputed the women's accounts. The report came a few days after James won a Golden Globe for his performance in "The Disaster Artist," prompting actress Ally Sheedy, who James had directed in a play, to tweet, "James Franco just won. Please don't ever ask me why I left the film/tv business. Why is a man hosting? Why is James Franco allowed in? Said too much." She later deleted the post and didn't give further insight. James, who wore a Time's Up pin at the Globes, spoke to several late-night hosts after Ally tweeted but before the L.A. Times piece came out. He told Stephen Colbert, "The things that I heard that were on Twitter are not accurate, but I completely support people coming out and being able to have a voice for so long, so I don't want to shut them down in any way." He added, "If there's restitution to be made, I will make it. I'm here to listen and learn and change my perspective where it's off." Seth Meyers asked him if the Time's Up movement has made him question some of his past behavior. James said, "I have my own side of this story, but I believe in these people who have been underrepresented getting their stories out enough that I will hold back things that I could say just because I believe in it that much. If I have to take a knock because I'm not going to try to actively refute things, then I will because I believe in it that much."
Presidential run?
The rumors and speculation were hard to miss: Is Oprah Winfrey running for president of the United States in 2020? Many think that she should after her incredible (and very presidential) Golden Globes speech on Jan. 7 in which she spoke of valuing the press, standing against injustice, supporting equal rights and more. "I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon," she said. "And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say 'Me too' again." After the powerful speech, Oprah's longtime love, Stedman Graham, hinted that a presidential run isn't off the table. "It's up to the people," he told the Los Angeles Times. "She would absolutely do it." Her best pal, Gayle King, however, claimed Stedman misunderstood the reporter's question. "Stedman says that he thought the reporter said to him, 'Would she make a good president?' and he said absolutely she would," Gayle explained, though she herself admitted Oprah is "very intrigued" by the idea of running.
Attacked
There was an incident involving Harvey Weinstein this week — and he wasn't in the wrong. Those are probably words you didn't expect to read! The disgraced former studio head was attacked while eating dinner at an Arizona restaurant on Jan. 9. Video and audio show a man approaching Harvey at dinner and praising him. Harvey can be heard thanking the man and being respectful. Upon finishing the meal, the same man approached Harvey and smacked him in the face twice. Harvey stumbled a bit and looked at the man, clearly confused, but he did not retaliate. Using vulgar language, the man then told Harvey to leave the restaurant. The man spoke to TMZ and initially said Harvey was belligerent. Audio, video and the eatery's manager, however, contradict his version of events. Harvey also made headlines on Jan. 10 when Page Six revealed he and estranged wife Georgina Chapman had privately reached a settlement ahead of their impending divorce. A source said the former mogul will pay the Marchesa designer, who will also get primary custody of their two kids, between $15 million and $20 million.
Married
Ricky Martin is a married man! The singer-actor revealed while speaking to E! that he recently wed artist Jwan Yosef. "I'm a husband, but we're doing a heavy party in a couple of months, I'll let you know," Ricky said. "We exchanged vows, and we've swear [sic] everything, and we've signed all the papers that we needed to sign, prenups and everything." He added that it "feels amazing" to be married. "I can't introduce him as my fiance. I can't," Ricky said. "He's my husband. He's my man."
Surprise split
After 10 years together, Anne Heche and James Tupper have split, she announced on Jan. 11. They have one child together, son Atlas. (Anne is also a mom to son Homer with ex-husband Coley Laffoon.) In a statement to People magazine, she said, "James and I have shared a great life together and have many wonderful memories. We've enjoyed working together, most recently on 'The Brave,' where he joins us for our two mind-bending finale episodes. Relationships change and grow; we're taking time for that. We care very much for each other and plan to continue raising our two beautiful boys in love and harmony. Thank you for allowing us privacy as our family evolves."
DUI arrest, rehab
Bam Margera is rehab-bound. The MTV star was booked for DUI in Los Angeles on Jan. 8. He was released on $15,000 bail. Afterward, his mother said he was seeking treatment . "He decided to go to rehab in L.A. so we're putting that program into place. How long he stays is to be determined but he'll want to keep that private," his mom, April, told Page Six. "He feels a lot better. He had a bad night. He's embarrassed by it. He's mad at himself for being stupid. Now he just wants to pick up the pieces and move forward for himself and for his family. As parents we're trying to step back right now and let this person that we trust and other trusted professionals take over." Bam has long been open about his battles with alcohol abuse.
Baby No. 5
Remember when Hugh Grant was widely regarded as an eternal bachelor? Those days are long gone. Hugh is going to be a dad again for the fifth time. In recent days, the actor and girlfriend Anna Eberstein have been photographed together — including at the Golden Globes on Jan. 7 — with Anna's baby bump on full display. It's their third child together. (Hugh also has two kids with ex Tinglan Hong.) Anna's mom, Swedish politician Susanne Eberstein, reportedly told newspaper Aftonbladet, "I'm very happy to be getting another grandchild. She's due rather soon." Who ever would have thought that Hugh would have his own basketball team of kids?!
