Denise Richards is reportedly engaged to boyfriend Aaron Phypers. "Aaron and Denise just got engaged and would love to be married sooner than later now that his divorce is finally in his past," a source told People magazine on Sept. 6. "The engagement has been a long time coming." Denise — who's joining the cast of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" — was famously once wed to Charlie Sheen. Aaron was previously married to "Desperate Housewives" star Nicollette Sheridan, and they finalized their divorce last month. "He moved on from his past relationship a long time ago, and marrying Denise is a welcome new chapter for both of them in different but equally significant ways," People's source said. "The two of them are very happy and have settled into life with one another, so now they're pretty focused on getting this very intimate ceremony off the ground. They're just ready to start their married life together."

Regular "Joe"
"The Cosby Show" actor Geoffrey Owens was trending this week after a photograph emerged of him working at Trader Joe's. Initially, Geoffrey was job-shamed, but he was soon showered with support. On Sept. 4, Geoffrey appeared on "Good Morning America" wearing his Trader Joe's name badge. He told anchor Robin Roberts that he was "devastated" when the photos emerged, but that the feeling subsided soon after he saw the outpouring of support. "There is no job that's better than another. It may pay better, it may have better benefits, it may look better on paper. But it's not better. Every job is worthwhile," he said. "No one should feel sorry for me either from a positive or negative perspective because I've had a great life and a great career. I'm doing fine." He even got job offers after the photos emerged. "#GeoffreyOwens I'm about to start shootings OWN's number one drama next week! Come join us!!!" Tyler Perry tweeted. "I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs. The measure of a true artist." TMZ reported that Geoffrey accepted the offer and will now appear on 10 episodes of "The Haves and the Have Nots." Rapper Nicki Minaj also revealed that she was so impressed with Geoffrey's work ethic that she's giving him $25,000. As the story unfolded, many other actors came out to detail the regular jobs they've done too.

Out of rehab… temporarily
Ben Affleck has been leaving rehab essentially every single day, but it's all with the blessing of his treatment center. "Ben is working out at his house," a source told People magazine. "He goes home to his gym to work out with his trainers. Since last week, he's been driven from the clinic every day from rehab to the house to work out. For a few hours a day. He's always accompanied by his coach and therapist." Ben's home workouts are "now part of his rehab regime," TMZ added. He's also been spending time with his latest squeeze, Playboy model Shauna Sexton, whose car was spotted at his house on Sept. 5. Ben's estranged wife, Jennifer Garner — who staged an intervention and drove him to rehab on Aug. 22 — is not thrilled with the situation. "Jen knows he is back at the house with Shauna and she is so painfully frustrated," the source said. "She knows he has to do this for himself," a source told "Entertainment Tonight." "He had stayed in touch with Shauna the entire time he was in rehab and the people at the facility and friends had huge concerns about it because she isn't sober. She is a huge red flag to everyone that is trying to support Ben with his process. Shauna is giving him false confidence and that is their biggest concern."

R.I.P.
We lost an acting icon this week. On Sept. 6, Burt Reynolds passed away after suffering a heart attack. He was 82. According to multiple reports, the actor was transported to a Florida hospital after going into cardiac arrest at home. As expected, Hollywood mourned the loss of the legend. "There are times in your life that are so indelible, they never fade away. They stay alive, even forty years later. My years with Burt never leave my mind. He will be in my history and my heart, for as long as I live. Rest, Buddy," his "Smokey and the Bandit" co-star Sally Field, who he dated for five years, tweeted. Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeted, "Burt Reynolds was one of my heroes. He was a trailblazer. He showed the way to transition from being an athlete to being the highest paid actor, and he always inspired me. He also had a great sense of humor – check out his Tonight Show clips. My thoughts are with his family."
Legal loophole?
Earlier this year, Geena Davis' husband, Dr. Reza Jarrahy, filed for divorce after 17 years of marriage, but this week the actress asked a judge to dismiss his petition, claiming the two were never actually legally married. In her court filing, which was obtained by TMZ, the actress said their marriage license was never properly filed in New York back in 2001, so under the state's law, they were never legally wed. In fact, she said they both knew that their marriage was not legally binding. If that's true, it would mean that the duo doesn't have to split property — she's entitled to what's hers and he's entitled to what's his. Also, if they were never actually legally married, he would not be entitled to spousal support because he was never a spouse. She even says they both filed tax returns either as "single" or "head of household." Reza, however, insists the marriage was valid.
Engaged
"Vanderpump Rules" star Lala Kent is a bride-to-be. The reality TV star got engaged to her producer boyfriend, Randall Emmett, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, she announced on Instagram on Sept. 2. "I got engaged to the man of my dreams. I get to call this amazing human my fiancé!" she wrote alongside photos from her big night. "An engagement last night, my birthday today, and every sign my dad [who died in April] could possibly send me to let me know he's here. I'm the happiest girl in the world." After Randall popped the question and Lala said yes, fireworks erupted over the ocean. After the engagement, the couple jetted to Las Vegas to celebrate with the cast of "Vanderpump Rules" at Tao nightclub. The diamond ring, by the way, is 6 carats and cost a whopping $150,000.
Divorcing
"The Real Housewives of New York" star Danielle Staub is about to be single again. On Sept. 4, barely four months after tying the knot, Danielle's husband, Marty Caffrey, served her with divorce papers. "She is doing well, strong and ready to move forward with her life," a source told Page Six. Danielle now has 35 days to respond to the filing. The two had been feuding for months and last month it was reported that Danielle was preparing for divorce.
Dancing queen
Lindsay Lohan started the newest dance trend this week when she unleashed "the Lilo" on the world. The whole thing started unintentionally after video emerged of the actress-turned-nightlife entrepreneur dancing at her beach club in Mykonos, Greece. In the short clip, Lindsay does a couple hair flips, a bit of shimmying, a few finger snaps and even a twirl for good measure. Almost immediately, the dance became a meme. Rather than ignoring it, Lindsay posted video of the dancing, encouraging her followers to "#DoTheLilo." Some did. Busy Philipps and pal Kelly Oxford recreated the dance in her kitchen. "Honestly, it's weirdly harder to nail than it seemed. Respect," Busy wrote alongside a clip of their efforts on Instagram.
Splitsville
Jeff Garlin and his wife of 24 years, Marla, are ending their marriage. The "The Goldbergs" star filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, on Sept. 4. He listed the couple's date of separation as July 25, 2017, which was actually one day after their 23rd wedding anniversary. Jeff asked the court to require both of them to pay their own attorneys' fees. He also said he was willing to pay spousal support.
Burglary victim
Burglars tried to break into Bella Thorne's house for the third time in a matter of weeks. Unlike previous attempts, though, this time the crooks succeeded. TMZ reported on Sept. 3 that thieves hit the "Midnight Sun" star's house while she was away and made off with about $150,000 in valuables. They even used her designer luggage to transport the stolen goods out of the house! Police are investigating. The thieves, who smashed a window to enter the home, were caught on surveillance video but covered their faces with bandanas. The crooks made off with jewelry, clothing, purses and the luggage. They tried unsuccessfully to break into Bella's house two other times over the span of three weeks.
