Amber Heard's ICE checkpoint alert sparks backlash
Amber Heard's spent much of the past two weeks protesting the separation of migrant families and advocating for more humane immigration policies. But a tweet she posted around midnight on Tuesday, July 3, was roundly criticized for its implied sweeping generalization about residents versus domestic workers in her high-end Los Angeles neighborhood. "Just heard there's an ICE checkpoint in [H]ollywood, a few blocks from where I live. Everyone better give their housekeepers, nannies and landscapers a ride home tonight," she tweeted. "I can see where you were going but somewhere along the way you took a wrong turn. Delete this sis," responded one angry commenter (via TMZ). She soon added this to the thread: "Checkpoints on your home streets…. Is this the 'great' America we're aiming for? Raids, fences and police-state like checkpoints don't feel like the 'land of the free' our immigrant ancestors built." Though some defended her on the first tweet (which appears to have been deleted), pointing out she lives in an elite part of town where many residents hire domestic workers of Latino descent, others took jabs at her defunct relationship with Johnny Depp, blasted her as "racist" and said the post illustrated what is wrong with the left. Amber replied to some of the comments, including one that read, "FYI, police do street checkpoints all the time. Nothing new there. But I guess it might be unheard of in your gated community." The Texas native pointed out"I grew up with those checkpoints, but that was mls from the border. Fortunately I dont live behind gates (or fences) but I do live around and alongside many ppl who face that fate if this continues to escalate." Later, after she apparently arrived in Paris on an overnight flight, Amber tweeted: "With this human rights crisis being so politicized, it is hard to make a simple statement w/out it being used to distract from the real issues. Its hard for everyone to not be negatively affected by this subject n some way."

Why Kim Kardashian, 37, gets parenting advice from Kylie Jenner, 20
Kim Kardashian West have may be two kids ahead of her youngest sibling, but Kylie Jenner, 20, still has plenty of mommy advice to dole out to her 37-year-old sis. During a chat with E! News at her recent KKW Beauty Pop-Up in Los Angeles, Kim was asked who she goes to for parenting tips the most. "Lately, it's been Kylie. Kylie's up on all the new gadgets and the new baby stuff," Kim explained. "Khloe and I probably have the most similar parenting style, and I will usually go to one of my best friends Larsa [Pippen] — she has four kids — for mom advice," she continued. She went on to say having three new babies in the fam — Kim welcomed Chicago in January, Kylie announced her daughter Stormi had arrived in February and Khloe Kardashian gave birth to True in April — has encouraged the whole Kardashian-crew to bond. "I think we're even closer now because Kourtney and I, even if we don't agree on some parenting tips, we'll discuss them thoroughly and we respect each other's rules, but we pick up the slack for each other too," Kim said. "I know that if Kourtney's out of town, then the kids will sleep at my house and we'll plan these fun things where the kids always feel loved. We're always helping each other out." She added that having Khloe return to Los Angeles with Tristan Thompson and their daughter has helped, too. "I definitely feel like we are more connected now especially that Khloe's back and we're hanging out with all the babies. All the kids want to hang out," she said "It's just a whole different experience now. It's so much fun."

Meghan Markle's royal wardrobe has cost about $1M (so far)
Fascinators and custom Givenchy gowns don't grow on trees, ya know. Just ask royal expert Katie Nicholl, who recently told "Entertainment Tonight" the Duchess has appeared in about $1 million worth of clothing and accessories since Prince Harry popped the question last fall. According to Katie (via the New York Post), Meghan likely helped cover some of the cost of her Givenchy and Stella McCartney wedding looks, estimated to have cost more than $440,000 and $157,000, respectively. What the expert described as Meghan's "working royal wardrobe" since she and Harry tied the knot, however, has reportedly been paid for by her father-in-law, Prince Charles. Among those items are an approximately $18,000 Givenchy cape dress — the one she wore for her first solo appearance with her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth; the $4,000 pink Carolina Herrera ensemble she wore to the Trooping of the Colour ceremony; the nearly $6,000 Oscar de la Renta dress she donned for her husband's cousin's wedding and a $643 Goat dress, which she wore to a party for Prince Charles shortly after the royal wedding. "Look at the publicity she has brought in run up to the wedding," Katie noted. "I'd argue that's worth every penny."

Judge orders Sony to turn over names of those interviewed in Dr. Luke investigation
Sony has 20 days to pony up the names of everyone its legal team interviewed in relation to Kesha's claim Dr. Luke raped her. That's according to the New York Post, which reports that this week, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Jennifer Schecter nixed the label's claim that the names of interviewees in an internal investigation into Dr. Luke, formerly the CEO of its Kemosabe Records imprint, should be protected by attorney-client privilege. The order comes as Kesha continues fighting to get out of her contract with Sony since 2014, when her rape allegation sparked Dr. Luke to sue her for defamation. On Monday, July 2, Pink and Avril Lavigne signed affidavits in the defamation lawsuit in which they swore the reason they cut ties with Dr. Luke had nothing to do with Kesha. The producer has claimed he lost valuable work with artists including Pink and Avril Lavigne because of Kesha's assault claim.

Cheryl Cole claps back at 'nasty' rumor about her mother and Liam Payne split
Within one day of Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne's split announcement, Cheryl felt forced to respond to British tabloid rumors blaming her mother, Joan Callaghan, for the breakup. "I hate responding to stuff esp at such difficult times but I cannot sit here and listen to such nasty, false articles regarding my mam. I don't know why they involve her in stores about me," Cheryl tweeted on Monday, July 2. "I can assure you she has absolutely nothing to do with any of it. I am a grown woman who is capable of dealing with my own life. She is a soft and kind woman who doesn't deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing whatsoever to do with her." According to Us Weekly, UK tabs have claimed Cheryl's mom moved in with Cheryl and Liam after the birth of their son, Bear, and created problems between the two. The singers have long dealt with both split and engagement rumors, none of which really panned out until now.

On Monday, July 2, she shared another update in a post from Sag Harbor, New York, where she's been spending time with her ex, Count Alexandre de Lesseps and their children: It's been half a year since LuAnn had a drink. Scott Disick and Sofia Richie are reportedly moving in together
So much for that split. Despite reports Scott Disick cheated on Sofia Richie, causing them to break up briefly a few weeks ago, the age-mismatched couple is moving forward with their romance. "Scott and Sofia are moving in together. She'll move into his house," a source tells Us Weekly. That means Sofia, 19, will likely be spending more time with the children her 35-year-old boyfriend shares with Kourtney Kardashian — and that's reportedly fine with Kourtney. "She couldn't be bothered by the drama," says the insider. "She just cares about the kids and that they're OK with the situation, which they are." It's unclear how Sofia's dad, Lionel Richie, will react to the news. Another insider tells the tab Sofia talked to her dad about Scott's cheating, after which Lionel promptly threatened to "write her out of his will if she continues her relationship with Scott as he thinks he's extremely toxic for her."

The New York Post reports Simmons recently listed the penthouse he and Kimora Lee Simmons shared in New York City's Financial District for $9.92 million. The price represents a drop from the $11 mil Simmons had hopes to snag for the 7,175-square-foot duplex loft in 2012. Located on Liberty Street, the pad boasts five bedrooms, barrel-vaulted ceilings, a library with a gas fireplace and plenty of private outdoor space.
