Beyonce launches scholarship for women, bids on $120M home
Yass, kween! Beyonce announced this week she's created a new scholarship program for women. According to a statement on her website, Formation Scholars was created to "encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident." Beginning this fall, Bey will give four scholarships to students studying creative arts, music, literature or African-American studies. Each recipient will be a current or prospective student at Berklee College of Music, Parsons School of Design, Howard University and Spelman College. Meanwhile, with the arrival of their twins just around the corner, Bey and Jay Z are reportedly getting more serious about their plan to move from New York to Los Angeles — and they may have finally found just the right pad. The New York Post reports Jay and Bey recently put in a bid of $120 million on a recently remodeled home in the Bel Air section of L.A. The mansion comes with eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and four pools, plus a media room, recording studio space, separate staff quarters and a sauna, spa and steam room. Security-wise, the place is a bit of a fortress, thanks to its location on top of a hill — and its bulletproof windows. The couple also own a home in New Orleans near the city's famed Garden District, although photos from their recent hangs with Bey's sister Solange Knowles, suggest they're not using the place even as a temporary residence.

Reese Witherspoon: Women have to work harder, longer to become successful producers
The success of "Big Little Lies" may have sealed Reese Witherspoon's rep as a star producer, but as she pointed out at Vanity Fair's Founder's Fair last week, women face a tougher climb to the top as producers than men do. "I finally had my three hits," she said (via the New York Post), in a nod to the new series plus "Gone Girl" and "Wild." "Finally, I feel like the story had changed. I am a producer." For women, she added, making it that far can take "twice as long," Women have to "prove themselves twice as hard," she said. "A guy has one hit and they say he's going to win an Oscar. A guy has one movie at Sundance and he gets 'Jurassic Park.' A woman has a hit at Sundance, and she has to make six more movies."

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen revisit prom night
We now have proof Chrissy Teigen and John Legend would have been just as adorable a pair if they were high school sweethearts had they met way back when. Over the weekend, Chrissy Snapchatted a clip of the two heading out to a party in New York. Before they left the house, John carefully slipped a corsage on his wife's wrist, prom-style, making sure the flowers rested perfectly against her forearm as she stood in front of their daughter, Luna's high chair. Later, John gave Chrissy his jacket to keep her warm, according to Celebitchy. Alas, the vibe may have eventually been ruined by a the battle Chrissy waged on her hair extensions — and her assistant — as she wiggled around on the floor in a leotard while said assistant attempted to remove the extra hair. Ouch.

Katy Perry teases sexy new track with pie recipe
Any Katy Perry fans out there hungry for some new music? You're in luck. This week, Katy sent a newsletter to fans that included a recipe for the "World's Best Cherry Pie." Other than its copious use of sexy adjectives, the recipe, Us Weekly notes, initially looks like nothing more than a how-to on pie-making. A closer look suggests some lyrics from her new song, "Bon Appetit" could be hiding in there. "This pie is gonna hit that sweet tooth, boy," Katy promises in the recipe, adding, "Calm those hungry eyes / Bon appetit, baby!" Speaking to Ryan Seacrest earlier this year, the singer revealed her forthcoming fifth studio album would feature "all kinds of stuff," including "some of that good, old Katy Perry fluffy stuff that you love so much." She also teased the new track: "I have one song called 'Bon Appetit' that I love. It's pretty sexual."

Jesse Williams requests joint legal and physical custody of children
As Jesse Williams and Aryn Drakelee-Williams begin their divorce proceedings, a custody battle over their two children seems unlikely. According to TMZ, the "Gray's Anatomy" star has asked for joint legal and physical custody over the 3-year-old and 1-year-old the couple share. While it's unclear if they have a prenup, Jesse has asked the court not to award his wife spousal support. The split, which comes after five years of marriage, has reportedly been amicable.

Heath Ledger was not depressed about playing the Joker
Heath Ledger's sisters, Kate Ledger and Ashleigh Bell, supported the new documentary "I Am Heath Ledger" as a way of "showing the world what they didn't know about him." That's how Ashleigh summarized their reason for participating at a panel discussion after a screening of the film at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York this week. "I hope it's an antidote to a lot of the gossip that exists in the world," Heath's friend Dan Amato said, according to the Daily Beast. "There are some really terrible things about Heath out there." One example of that gossip, Ashleigh said, was the rumor that Heath was depressed after playing The Joker. "I was really shocked, because that was him having fun," said Kate. "Honestly it was the absolute opposite. He had an amazing sense of humor, and I guess only his close family and friends really knew that. But he was having fun. He wasn't depressed about The Joker," Ledger added. In the film, Heath's agent, Steve Alexander admits Heath dealt with a level of self-doubt that left him wanting to quit just about every project he was hired for. "He was struggling with his demons," Steve said in the film, "but he didn't want to go anywhere but forward." "I Am Heath Ledger" hits theaters for one night only May 3, according to Celebitchy.

Stephen, who has been accused of physically abusing Mel, will be able to see Madison at a court-appointed location, with a court-appointed monitor, for four hours, twice a week. He will not have access to the daughter Mel shares with Eddie Murphy.
Brie Larson: Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence saved my life
Starring in a hit film can't protect even the most well-adjusted star from feeling down and out sometimes. Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence, however, are another story. In the new issue of Vanity Fair, Brie Larson reveals how the actresses looked out for her when she was struggling during press tours for "Room." "I felt lonely and bad sometimes…[and was] embarrassed to keep talking about [myself]," she admits in the new issue of Vanity Fair. "Emma wrote this beautiful e-mail out of nowhere, and then one day Jen sent me a text message after she saw Room, and we started talking. That [group of friends] saved my life. I was able to talk with them about everything that was going on in my life, and it was with people who had been through it before and are also hilarious. That support and acceptance was everything. I was home-schooled, so I didn't have friends that had the same interests as me, and I found it to be absolutely incredible."
