Blac Chyna faces backlash for putting Dream in extensions

Too much? A slew of social media users slammed Blac Chyna for putting her 1-year-old daughter in pink hair extensions and sharing a photo of the gussied-up toddler on Instagram. "My beautiful baby girl," Chyna captioned the pic. An onslaught of negative comments followed, including some who the little girl "is not a doll" and "not a toy" and chastised Chyna for giving her daughter "a weave." Others, meanwhile, said to cut Chyna a break, pointing out that the extensions were clipped in and that the tot "looks beautiful," according to Us Weekly. Chyna, who's already in hot water for attacking a woman with her stroller at Six Flags on Easter, later deleted the photo.

Jay-Z's mom, Gloria Carter to receive special GLAAD Award for telling her story on '4:44'

On a recent edition of David Letterman's "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction," JAY-Z opened up about the moment when his mother, Gloria Carter, came out to him, a topic he broached on his 2017 track, "Smile," which features his mom speaking about her pain. "For her to sit in front of me and tell me 'I think I love someone' … I really cried," he told Letterman. "I cried because I was so happy for her that she was free." At the GLAAD Media Awards in New York City on May 5, Jay's mom will have the chance to elaborate on what she told Jay when she came out — and what she said on "Smile." Gloria is set to be honored with a Special Recognition Award for her moving and candid contribution on "Smile," according to Billboard. She's been invited to speak onstage about her journey when she accepts the award. "4:44" also features Jay's confession to the infidelity Beyonce referenced throughout her visual album, "Lemonade."

Kelly Clarkson reveals she's conflicted when her kids hit each other

Last fall, Gal Gadot found out Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock's daughter, River, was all about "Wonder Woman" and sent her a care package of movie-related goodies. These days, it sounds like River might be getting the toddler-version of Diana's battle training, thanks to her 2-year-old little brother, Remy. During an appearance on the Thursday, April 26, edition of "Ellen," Kelly and Ellen DeGeneres revealed River was backstage. After Ellen gushed with excitement that the 3-year-old had recognized her (via Us Weekly), Ellen cooed, "Her voice is so tiny and soft." Kelly cautioned: "She's authoritative, though." It seems River is taking to the role of bossy older sister like a champ. Kelly explained that she and Brandon tried to tell River that at some point Remy would start fighting back, but she didn't seem to get the memo until it was too late. "He will just full on punch her," Kelly said. "I don't know what to do. Cause you want him to defend himself. She'll wait until your back is turned and she'll push him. She'll push him down and think we won't figure it out." Kelly added, "It's a fine line of stick up for yourself and then don't hit people. But if she knocks him, I'm like, 'Well, you asked for it." Wonder if Gal Gadot included a Wonder Woman shield in that box …

Rihanna's Fenty University line faces legal action over alleged trademark infringement

Rihanna could be facing a lawsuit soon over the Fenty University products she launched through her collaboration with Puma. Though her Puma team maintains the Fenty U items are no longer being manufactured, it seems they're still on the market — and another fashion brand, Freedom United — is angry. TMZ reports Freedom United, which also uses the initials "FU" and has been worn by A-list music stars, sent Rihanna's team a cease and desist letter in January. In the letter, they accused RiRi of having been aware of the potential "FU" conflict for years when she proceeded with putting those initials on her own pieces. Freedom United reportedly wants to know exactly how much Rihanna has profited from the line. The company also wants to ensure no more FU pieces are made by Puma. According to TMZ, Rihanna's team replied to Freedom United letter in March, denying there was any copyright infringement on the grounds the fonts the two brands use are different and that F and U are just "initials." Freedom United reportedly plans to sue.

After it was revealed Mark Wahlberg was paid $1.5 million to do the same "All the Money in the World" reshoots for which his costar, Michelle Williams, was paid $1000, he donated his entire fee to the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund in Michelle's name. This week, while in Las Vegas promoting his new movie "Mile 22" at CinemaCon, Mark told "Extra" he believes his industry has its work cut out for it as far as creating a Hollywood untainted by gender bias. "We want to continue to make sure that everybody feels that we're having equal opportunity and equal pay for everybody," Mark said. "If there was a discrepancy in what we were doing in making the movie, we have a long way to go. We need to work together to make sure that everybody gets an equal opportunity out there." The reshoots were necessary after Christopher Plummer replaced Kevin Spacey in the movie due to sexual misconduct allegations about the former "House of Cards" star. Director Ridley Scott has said he felt angry and "hung out to dry" after learning producers paid the stars such vastly different fees for the same work.

Cardi B is taking some time off due to pregnancy

Prior to Cardi B's pregnancy confirmation, there was talk of how much money she stood to lose if she were forced to take time off from working over the summer. Now, that's just what she's doing. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, April 25, Cardi says her last performance "for a little while" will be at Broccoli Fest in Washington, D.C., this weekend. She then explains why in super-Cardi terms: "Because you know, shorty keep growing and I be looking like I be moving and everything, but in reality, a b—- can barely breathe," she says in the clip (via People). Later, she jokes, "I can barely breathe right now. I've ate like six chicken wings, and I can barely breathe now!" She has said that she will accompany Bruno Mars on tour this fall — and plans to take "shorty" along for the ride.

It may not have been until 2003's "Something's Gotta Give," however, that Jack really grasped just how good of an actress his leading lady was. During a panel discussion at the Tribeca Film Festival this week, writer-director Nancy Meyers was trying to explain to the audience how Diane's approach involves some "off-center" and surprising techniques. Case in point? She made Jack believe she had actually fallen in love with him — and it totally threw him. "We're rehearsing that scene in the street, where he's running after her, and he calls me over after one rehearsal," Nancy recalled (via Vulture). He's all rattled," she continued. "I said, 'What's up?' And he goes, 'Diane just told me she loves me.' I couldn't tell if he was horrified or thrilled. So I was like, 'Yes, I know, I wrote that line. It's in the script, Jack.' And he said, 'Oh, OK.' He thought she meant it. It's really funny. That's her."

Kevin Smith has lost 30 pounds since his heart attack

Two months after his massive heart attack, Kevin Smith is serious about getting healthy and staying that way. And there may be no better proof than the numbers on the scale. "I had a blockage in my heart so I wasn't getting proper oxygen," he told Page Six at the premiere for his daughter, Harley Quinn Smith's film, "All These Small Moments" at the Tribeca Film Festival this week. " [After surgery,] I lost over 30 pounds, and felt so much better right away," he said. Earlier this week, the tab reported Kevin was on the vegan bandwagon and, according to Harley, "healthier than he's ever been."

Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's 'A Star Is Born' sparks major buzz after trailer preview

If you thought a remake starring a pop singer and an actor who didn't know how to sing when he wrote the project for himself to direct and star in sounds like an automatic Oscar nix, you wouldn't be alone. Variety reports Warner Bros. pushed back the release date for Bradley Cooper's "A Star Is Born," featuring Lady Gaga as the aforementioned star, from May to October because the studio thinks it's got the chops to be an awards season contender. (It was initially reported the date changed because of Gaga's Vegas residency.) There was plenty of buzz around the film at ComicCon in Las Vegas this week, where B. Coop debuted the trailer for the film. Before showing it, Bradley told the audience Lady G. taught him to sing for the movie because she hates seeing playback lip-syncing (he hadn't planned to sing in the film before she forced him to make a deal with her). She taught him how, Bradley-Gaga performances at Coachella and Glastonbury followed and, voila! The trailer is already snagging great reviews from critics and fans. A New York Times critic said it gave him "goosebumps," while a Los Angeles Times critic admitted she cried. "A Star Is Born" hits theaters Oct. 5.

Bill Cosby's lawyer 'slept at the defense table for 30 minutes' during retrial

The proceedings in the Pennsylvania courtroom where Bill Cosby's sexual assault retrial came to a close this week were apparently snooze-worthy on Wednesday, April 25. Either that or Cosby's lawyer was already at the end of his rope. According to Page Six, the comic's lead attorney, Tom Mesereau fell asleep (he was reportedly "mouth open" in his chair as he "drifted in and out of consciousness") while a judge read back the testimony from Cosby's 2004 and 2005 depositions about Andrea Constand's first round of accusations that Cosby gave her Quaaludes then molested her in his home. The tab's report claims Mesereau "slept at the defense table for some 30 minutes" and no one in the room commented publicly about the nap. On Thursday, April 26, Cosby was found guilty on all three counts of aggravated indecent assault.
