Wonderwall.com is rounding up the biggest celebrity romance news from the end of September, starting with the dramatic saga of Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich's broken engagement… On Sept. 24, headlines revealed that the singer and the "Young and the Restless" actor had split after six months of dating and a two-month engagement. A source told ETonline at the time, "It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers." But in the wake of that news, Max sounded off on Instagram, claiming first that he learned of the breakup "through a tabloid" (which a source close to Demi later denied) and then appealing to Demi via more Instagram Stories that read in part, "If you're reading this…. I love you always… unconditionally… no matter what." According to E! News, those posts actually drove Max farther away from Demi. "She is completely embarrassed at the way he's been acting and putting their relationship on blast via social media. She wants nothing to do with him," a source shared. Another source close to the singer told People magazine that ultimately, Demi was hurt once she realized that "Max's intentions weren't genuine" and that Max, who's been in Atlanta filming a movie, "got wrapped up in [Hollywood]." Mariah Carey is spilling some relationship tea! Between the Sept. 29 release of her memoir, "The Meaning of Mariah Carey," and her Sept. 24 sit-down with Oprah Winfrey on Apple TV+'s "The Oprah Conversation," the superstar is shared some juicy never-before-heard details about her relationships with ex-husband Tommy Mottola and onetime boyfriend Derek Jeter. Among them? She cheated on Tommy, who was also the head of her record label, with the baseball star. She explains in the book that she thought Derek was her "soulmate" and saw him as proof that she "could have something beautiful on the other side of the hell that was [her] marriage." She told Oprah, "He was a catalyst that helped me get out of that relationship because I believed that there was somebody else [out there for me]." While speaking to the legendary host, Mariah also confessed she wrote two songs about Derek — "My All" and "The Roof."

"Wheeler Dealers" host Ant Anstead finally weighed in on his split from "Flip or Flop" star Christina Anstead, taking to Instagram on Sept. 26 to reveal that he'd been "holding on to hope" that they'd be able to reunite following an announcement earlier in the month that they were calling it quits after less than two years of marriage. "I never gave up on us," he added. "I pray Christina's decision brings her happiness." Darius Rucker has found love again! The country crooner is seeing comedian Kate Quigley, according to Page Six. The former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman split from his wife of 20 years, Beth, back in July. Though neither party have confirmed their relationship, Kate has shared photos of Darius on social media — including a pic of herself sitting on his lap next to another comedian, Bronston Jones, captioning it, "Can't tell ya how much I love these two. ♥ @bronstonjones @dariusrucker."

Things are Instagram official for Rebel Wilson! The actress showed off her new boyfriend, Jacob Busch, on social media on Sept. 24. According to People magazine, the couple met in 2019 and their relationship flourished while they got to know each other better long-distance during coronavirus quarantine. Lily Collins is an engaged lady! On Sept. 25, the "Emily in Paris" actress revealed that she's engaged to director Charlie McDowell. Charlie popped the question with a vintage-inspired ring designed by Irene Neuwirth. Chrishell Stause is opening up more about her split from "This Is Us" star Justin Hartley and revealing how she felt seeing him move on quickly.
