Wonderwall.com is rounding up the biggest celebrity romance news from the end of September, starting with the dramatic saga of Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich's broken engagement… On Sept. 24, headlines revealed that the singer and the "Young and the Restless" actor had split after six months of dating and a two-month engagement. A source told ETonline at the time, "It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers." But in the wake of that news, Max sounded off on Instagram, claiming first that he learned of the breakup "through a tabloid" (which a source close to Demi later denied) and then appealing to Demi via more Instagram Stories that read in part, "If you're reading this…. I love you always… unconditionally… no matter what." According to E! News, those posts actually drove Max farther away from Demi. "She is completely embarrassed at the way he's been acting and putting their relationship on blast via social media. She wants nothing to do with him," a source shared. Another source close to the singer told People magazine that ultimately, Demi was hurt once she realized that "Max's intentions weren't genuine" and that Max, who's been in Atlanta filming a movie, "got wrapped up in [Hollywood]." The episode saw the former couple, whose marriage ended in 2001, reunite for the first time in almost two decades. They reminisced about their time together — including first dates and other happy memories — and Drew blamed "timing" for the reason her marriage to the comedian "just wasn't sustainable."
