Pamela Anderson asks Kanye West to consider helping Julian Assange
Could the whole Kanye West–wading-into-politics situation get any weirder? In fact, it could — especially if Yeezy takes a break from working on his new music to help out Pamela Anderson with a recent plea for help. Pam, who gave the rapper a kiss in his "Touch the Sky" video way back when, has written to Kanye to do some research on her close friend, Julian Assange (speaking of weird situations), because she thinks he'd admire him. From the way her letter is paraphrased on TMZ, it sounds like Pam's hoping Kanye could throw his status behind supporting the WikiLeaks founder, whom Pam says is being tortured and believes people want to kill him. "I support him and I know you value Free Speech," she writes of her pal, who is currently in Europe at London's Ecuadorian Embassy. She goes on to say he's not allowed to make or take any calls, use the Internet or have visitors while he's there, having claimed political asylum after being accused of "exposing corruption in governments." "I've always supported your 'no filter' – you speak your mind," she continues. "And you make an impact. I'm sure a lot of people feel like you – They just are stuck in what society says is OK to say." To sum up: Pam wants Trump fan Kanye West … to speak out on behalf of Julian Assange … while Assange is allegedly being mistreated by the powers that be in Europe … while most of Europe is hating on Trump because he just pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal that was negotiated to keep them all safe. We'll just be over here doing the math on that one if you need us.

Caitlyn Jenner defends herself against critics who say she's a poor representative of the trans community
When London's Channel 4 invited Caitlyn Jenner to deliver its third annual Diversity Lecture in the House of Commons, numerous members of the LGBQT community spoke out, slamming the station for its choice. Caitlyn proceeded with the talk just the same this week, discussing her transgender advocacy work and urging the British government not to "go down the same road" as Donald Trump with regard to his military ban. She also addressed the backlash she's faced from the trans community. "When I came out, the first year was great," she recalled, according to the Irish News. "Then all of a sudden I got this 'person of privilege' [label]. I didn't get it when it came to the trans community, as we have a very marginalized community. Though Caitlyn's estimated to be worth about $100 million, she explained: "I didn't start off being privileged. For years I was living on $10K a year, living in a $145 per month apartment, driving a $150 1963 VW Bug, training my butt off, and training to make it in life." She continued: "I will never apologize for everything that I've been able to do because I have worked very hard for everything. So I'm not going to apologize for working hard and being successful." She added that her status had allowed her to speak out about these issues. "I always suggest to every trans person out there, everybody has a platform that they can utilize to make it just a little bit better for the next generation coming up," she said, as her rumored girlfriend Sophia Hutchins listened. Prior to the speech, writer and comedian Shone Faye tweeted, "Jenner's life story is as far removed from what British politicians need to be hearing and considering on this 'issue' this is a f—— mess. Lol I'm tired."

Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner 'butt heads' less since Stormi was born
Being an aunt has its privileges! Kendall Jenner, 22, has a couple years on her 20-year-old sister, Kylie Jenner, so it came as a surprise when Kylie was the first one to become a mom when she and Travis Scott welcomed their daughter, Stormi, this year. "It's obviously a bit weird that your little sister is having a baby before you," Kendall admits in Elle's new cover story. "I didn't expect it to happen like this. But it's beautiful." That beauty goes beyond the joy of welcoming a new family member, too. "It's brought us closer together," Kendall says of her relationship with Kylie. " We've always been very close, but we would butt heads all the time. This has made her a bit more loving toward me." Kendall also opens up about her severe anxiety in the interview, which was conducted by Lana Del Rey: "It's interesting; ever since I said something about being anxious, a lot of people in the spotlight have come to me, being like, 'Oh my God, me too!' There's this community. I take what they do to help themselves and piece it together to find what helps me." Elle's June edition hits newsstands May 22.

Why Rob Lowe prefers sleeping away from his wife
You'd think that after 27 years of marriage — and with a healthy-sized nest egg between them — Rob Lowe and his wife, Sheryl Berkoff, would have worked out an arrangement to mitigate Rob's apparent inability to sleep through the night when the couple share a bed. Not so much. Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres this week, he admitted he gets more rest when he travels and it's all because of Sheryl. As Ellen inquired how Rob's Stories I Only tell My Friends tour was going, Rob admitted, "I sleep better on the road because I'm not with my wife … I love her enough to speak the truth," according to People. "What it is, is she's obsessed with playing 'Family Feud' 'til 5 and 6 in the morning on the iPad, and wakes me up, like, 'Honey, honey! Quick! Name five foods that are gross!' I'm like, 'I just want to go to bed …" Fun fact: Rob's not alone in his discomfort. A study conducted by the National Sleep Foundation, as well as a new survey of 3,000 Americans, found nearly one in four married couples sleep apart in the interest of getting better rest.
Selena Gomez on why she's nervous about releasing new music
When it comes to releasing new music, Selena Gomez, who recently threw her energy behind the production of "13 Reasons Why," (after taking an extended break from the spotlight) is not rushing it. "I have so many exciting things coming. It just feels like it's my time and it's at my pace. I'm not trying to like throw a bunch of music in people's faces until I'm ready," she told Zane Lowe on Beats 1 radio on Thursday, May 10, according to JustJared. "We're also trying to figure out a find way to take our time. There's no date, there's no idea for it, but I have a lot of music that I've collectively put away … this has been building for maybe two years. I was really happy with 'Revival,' but at the same time I was terrified of doing another record. Because for me, it could be like it was a step down, or I needed to beat that record, and I think every artist kind of struggles with that. So I waited. I wanted it to be great and had I not waited a good year or two I wouldn't have had the best songs I've ever had."
Cardi B denies Nicki Minaj drama was a feud
Most of Cardi B's recent chat with Howard Stern for his Sirius XM radio show revolved around her pregnancy and her relationship with Offset. But there was a tiny detail in there about Cardi's feud with Nicki Minaj, which was basically about whether or not Nicki changed a verse on their Migos track "MotorSport," or not, and whether Cardi was honest about what happened when she began doing press for the recording. Though Nicki has said she was very hurt by Cardi for allegedly making it look as if she'd lied, Cardi denied it was ever that big of a deal. "I never was feuding with anybody," she told the shock jock. "There was a misunderstanding … I didn't wanna ever talk about it in public because I felt like we gonna see each other again and we will talk about it, and it's always like little issues." She added that she and Nicki discussed it this week. "I spoke to her about it," she said. "I spoke to her at the Met Gala about it, and it's just like, see? It's just something that had to be talked about because it was an issue." She also admitted her feeling were "really hurt" by the whole thing. According to Vulture, the verse change in question involved removing Cardi's name from a Nicki verse; the website also points out the track was originally not supposed to have Cardi on it.
Anna Wintour supports Scarlett Johansson's vote of confidence for Georgina Chapman
When Scarlett Johansson stepped out on the Met Gala red carpet in Marchesa — the line co-founded by Harvey Weinstein's wife, Georgina Chapman — some tsked the star for what they deemed was a show for support for the scandalized former producer, even though the designer left her husband almost immediately after news of his behavior went public. A few night later, however, Vogue's Anna Wintour, explained why she was all for ScarJo's decision. "Georgina is a brilliant designer and I don't think that she should be blamed for her husband's behavior," the Vogue honcho said on "The Late Show" this week, according to Page Six. "I think it was a great gesture of support on Scarlett's part to wear a beautiful dress like that on such a public occasion." In the June issue of her letter from the editor in Vogue, she explained: "I am firmly convinced that Georgina had no idea about her husband's behavior; blaming her for any of it, as too many have in our gladiatorial digital age, is wrong. I believe that one should not hold a person responsible for the actions of his or her partner." Scarlett also issued a statement about being the first to wear Marchesa on a red carpet since the Weinstein scandal broke. "I wore Marchesa because their clothes make women feel confident and beautiful," she said, "and it is my pleasure to support a brand created by two incredibly talented and important female designers." Georgina left her
Grimes pokes fun at her relationship with Elon Musk
Folks are still trying to wrap their brains around the romance between Elon Musk and goth-y musician and visual artist Grimes, but Grimes doesn't seem to mind. Proof came this week in the form of her agreement with a light-hearted Twitter dig aimed at her the day after she and Elon hit the Met Gala together. The viral post, which Grimes shared, read: "Elon Musk: Hey babe where do you want to go to dinner?" Beneath that, the user wrote "Grimes: …" then posted a meme of a hissing black cat with crazy green, pupil-less eyes, arching its back." Grimes' take on the whole thing? "Accurate." (To be fair, Elon probably always wants to go to Mars for dinner. That would turn us into a hissing black cat, too.)
Woody Allen scene cut from forthcoming film
Another powerful celeb facing sexual assault allegations is being cut from a new film. Page Six reports Woody Allen's interview with the director of a documentary about the historic Carlyle Hotel — where Allen has performed with his jazz band each week for decades — has been axed from the movie, which features conversations with George Clooney, Naomi Campbell, Tommy Lee Jones and Wes Anderson. After sources told Page Six Allen's scene had been cut because of his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow's molestation accusation, the tab checked in with director Matthew Miele. "I can't put my finger on who got skittish about it, but I'm only the director — not the people who put the money up," he said. "It's a shame because [Allen is] an elusive guy and he gave us the interview, and it's just sitting on the cutting room floor." Earlier this year, the assault allegation stymied the release of Allen's film, "A Rainy Day in New York." Allen has denied the accusation.
Khloe Kardashian shares sweet post about True turning 1 month old
It's been exactly one month since Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson welcomed their daughter, True — a fact that wasn't far from Khloe's mind this week. "I can't believe my baby will be a month old tomorrow," she tweeted on Wednesday, May 9. "Why does this make me happy and sad all at the same time .. Thank you Jesus for my sweet peanut." Earlier that day, Khloe wrote on her app about her plans for her first Mother's Day, which she'll reportedly spend with her family. "I've always loved Mother's Day and celebrating Kris Jenner, MJ and my sisters — but this year will be even more special because now I'm a mommy, too!" she wrote (via People). "As of now, there aren't any special plans (that I know of, LOL). I'm really enjoying spending quality time with True and loving just hibernating with her,"
