Fans think there's a 'Game of Thrones' connection to the baby name Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas chose
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are now a family of three! And Sophie's "Game of Thrones"-addicted fans are already theorizing there's a connection between the baby's name and the show. Following reports that the "GOT" star, 24, and 30-year-old singer welcomed a baby girl named Willa on Wednesday, July 22, fans noticed that two Willas appeared over the course of Sophie's Emmy-winning series. According to JustJared, the first Willa showed up as a wilding in Season 5, while the second was a servant as Winterfell in Season 8. Not the most inspiring namesake options, but don't expect any clarification from Sophie or Joe right away. According to an ET source, the couple, who tied the knot in May 2019, are "taking time to enjoy this special moment and [had] only shared the news and updates with family and friends," prior to confirming the news through their rep.

Taylor Swift's label didn't know 'Folklore' was in the works until hours before its release
Taylor Swift was not taking any chances when it came to keeping her new album, "folklore" under wraps. In fact, according to The National's Aaron Dessner, who produced and co-wrote all but two songs on the album, even Taylor's label, Republic Records, was kept in the dark about her plans to drop the recording as a surprise last Friday. "There was no outside influence at all," Aaron recently told Pitchfork. "In fact, nobody knew, including her label, until hours before it was launched." The multi-instrumentalist and producer also shared some insight as to why the singer may have wanted to keep the project a secret. "For someone who's been in this glaring spotlight for 15 years, it's really liberating to have some privacy and work on her own terms," he said, adding, "She deserves that." Over the weekend, Republic announced "Folklore" sold 1.3 million copies in its first 24 hours. The album also clocked in 80.6 million streams in that time frame on Spotify, setting a record for the most first-day album streams by a female artist.

Within an hour, though, Chrissy had decided to skip Flea's solid pirate growth advice and get a few little studs on one ear. "Ok all done! No nose 🙁 Maybe in another life," she posted, sharing a video of her new look. She responded to Kerry, as well, telling the actress she could "absoluuuuutely see" her with a real nose piercing. She also told Kerry how she banished the urge herself: "I had my friend get one to get over my itch."

It's already been a big week for Oprah Winfrey, whose namesake magazine, O, just announced plans to become more "digitally focused." (In a statement to People, a rep for the publication dismissed rumors Hearst would stop publishing the title altogether.) Meanwhile, Apple TV+ announced "The Oprah Conversation," a new interview series, is set to launch on the streaming service on Thursday. The show will pair Oprah in remote conversation with thought leaders like best-selling author Professor Ibram X. Kendi, who stars in the debut episode, "How to Be an Antiracist," according to ET.
Johnny Depp not present in court as final arguments begin in libel trial
Lawyers for British tab The Sun began their final arguments in Johnny Depp's libel trial on Monday by calling the actor a "hopeless addict who repeatedly lost … all ability to restrain his anger" while married to Amber Heard. According to Variety, attorney Sasha Wass claimed The Sun's 2015 allegation that the actor was a "wife beater" was valid and "backed by a wealth of evidence." Amber was reportedly present in court, while her ex-husband sat the day out. Johnny has denied he was violent towards the actress during their marriage, which ended in 2017. The trial is expected to end Tuesday.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. urge 'Avengers' fans to register a friend to vote
Tony Stark and Pepper Potts want you to register to vote! Over the weekend, Gwyneth Paltrow called up her "Avengers" movies husband, Robert Downey Jr., on FaceTime to support the I Am a Voter campaign's Register a Friend Day ahead of the presidential election in November. "My best friend in the whole wide world!" Gwyneth enthuses as Robert's face pops into view in a clip from the call Gwyneth later shared on Instagram. "Do you know why I'm calling today?" The stars then talk about the fact that the election is just 100 days away and how important it is for every eligible American to vote this year — and to remind their friends to do the same. "@robertdowneyjr and I are ARE VOTERS!" the actress captioned the post. "We are taking part in @iamavoter's campaign to get 100,000 voters to vote in November. There's only 100 more days left until Election Day, so we are asking ALL OF THE FANS TO SHOW LOVE TO YOURSELF AND COUNTRY AND US❤️🇺🇸❤️. Nick Cordero lost his battle with COVID-19 too soon to see his son, Elvis, say his first words. But for Elvis, "dada" was beside him when he reached that milestone. On Sunday, Nick's widow, Amanda Kloots, shared an Instagram video of the sweet moment, which came after she asked the 13-month-old "where's dada?" In response, Elvis smiles and giggles and kisses a photo of his dad. "Right here," he coos. "Elvis said his first words today!! Listen closely!" Amanda captioned the post. "He hasn't seen Nick since March 30th. The fact that he still knows who his Dada is, point to him and give him a kiss to me is amazing." The late Broadway star died on July 5 after a 95-day hospitalization during which he suffered complications from the coronavirus including lung infections and the amputation of one of his legs. He was 41.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson become Greek citizens
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are officially citizens of Greece. Back in January, Tom revealed on Twitter that he was "starting 2020 as an Honorary citizen of all of Greece" after the Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulis signed an honorary naturalization order for the star, who frequently vacations in the country. According to E! News, that order made Tom eligible to claim citizenship in the country. Over the weekend, he and his wife Rita apparently did just that. On Sunday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis posted a photo of himself standing beside Tom and Rita as they smiled while holding up their new Greek passports. "@ritawilson @tomhanks are now proud Greek citizens!" he captioned the shot. The couple reportedly traveled to Greece earlier this month to celebrate Tom's 64th birthday.
David Beckham joins Prince William in a virtual talk about mental health needs in sports
Like anyone else, athletes can suffer from debilitating mental health problems that go untreated because of the stigma involved in acknowledging them. Through the Royal Foundation's Heads Together charity, Prince William is working to address those issues in the world of sports. Over the weekend, he got some extra help from David Beckham and more English soccer stars, who shared a conversation on social media about how to better prioritize keeping soccer players and fans as healthy, mentally, as they are, physically. "I really hope you guys feel this but the tide is turning on mental health and we are making progress," William tells David, Steph Houghton and Tyrone Mings in a clip from the virtual video call on Instagram. "It's OK to not be OK and it's OK to say that. It's OK to come out and say, 'I need help,'" David chimes in. He goes on to share a memory of how hard it was to speak out about a gaffe he made many years ago, even as he suffered from the public's response. "I made a mistake in '98 and the reaction at the time was pretty brutal," he reveals. "If social media was around when I was going through that time, it would have been a whole different story. But I was lucky, I had a support system within Manchester United, the manager, and obviously family. But did I feel it was OK at the time to go to someone and say I need help? No, because it was a different era, and I just felt that I had to keep it all in and deal with it myself, he explains. "Whereas now I'm the one preaching to my kids and to other kids that I talk to out there that it's really important to talk." The soccer stars teamed up with Heads Together following the launch of the Mentally Healthy Football Declaration, according to ET. The declaration serves as an agreement between all U.K. soccer leagues to prioritize the mental health needs of everyone involved "at all levels of the game," in the interest of encouraging more people to seek mental health treatment.
