Meghan McCain reportedly asked ABC not to hire Ana Navarro full-time
New details are emerging about Meghan McCain's latest blow-up on "The View." The 34-year-old conservative stormed off the set last week during a conversation about the whistleblower who complained Donald Trump made an "unethical" promise to a foreign leader during a phone conversation. Meghan's walk-off came when the show's Friday co-host Ana Navarro got ticked off about Meghan's tone while they argued. "I'm two feet away," said Ana, also a Republican. "I don't need you to scream at me this way." Now, an insider tells the Daily Mail Meghan "blew up" backstage, saying, "Ana had embarrassed her and the truth is, Meghan can dish it, but she sure can't take it." The source also claims Meghan's complained to "View" execs about Ana in the past and even threatened to quit if ABC hired Ana full-time. "That's how Ana ended up only doing one day a week," said the source. The "View" source also griped that Meghan's personal pal Abby Huntsman got the slot over Ana, a move the source believes was "to make Meghan comfortable and more likable." But when Ana arrived on set last week before the whistleblower tiff, Meghan was reportedly annoyed that "everyone on the set was excited to see" her, according to the Mail's sources. In a statement to the outlet, a rep for ABC said: "The co-hosts have a big and invaluable role on the show, but they don't decide who we cast or who we book … Abby is interesting because her views are not cookie-cutter, you never know what you're gonna get. Sometimes she's very moderate, sometimes she's very liberal." Meanwhile, Meghan continues to anger producers, the show's "glam squad" and her other co-hosts, according to the Mail, whose source says Meghan went to network brass after Sherri Shepherd said something not entirely positive about her on "Watch What Happens Live" and asked them not to have Sherri back. Said the source: "… the execs kowtowed to Meghan's request because they're always trying to appease her … It's sickening for morale. With her bad behavior on air, the way the audience even sometimes boos her and her insubordination with the executive producers, anyone else would have been fired a long time. But Meghan? They just keep feeding the beast." The Mail points out that ratings for "The View" are higher in 2019 than they have been "in years."

With her marriage to Liam Hemsworth and brief romance with Kaitlynn Carter behind her, Miley Cyrus is "looking forward to being single," a source tells People. The singer, whose mom, brother and sister were on hand for her performance at the iHeartRadio Festival over the weekend, was already hoping to spend more energy on personal and career matters when she and Liam called time on their nearly decade-long relationship, according to the source. When she and Kaitlynn got close, she reportedly worried she might not be able to stick to the plan. "Miley split from Liam to focus on herself," the insider explains. "Her relationship with Kaitlynn was a happy surprise. However, Miley was so invested in her relationship with Liam for a long time. She felt her relationship with Kaitlynn was almost moving in that direction, too." A source previously told the magazine Miley and Kaitlynn were "spending nearly every day together" and that Miley decided she needed to "focus on her career" instead. They're "still friends," according to People, as they have been for many years.

Beyonce's still fighting for trademark rights to her daughter's name in a case brought against the star by Wendy Morales, an event planner whose "Blue Ivy" business name was in place three years prior to Blue Ivy Carter's birth. The latest development shows Bey's lawyers are arguing Blue Ivy Carter needs access to the "Blue Ivy" trademark because, her pint-sized stature aside, the 7-year-old is nothing short of a "cultural icon." (We are, after all, talking about a child who at age 6 bid $19,000 on a piece of art.) To wit: "Blue Ivy Carter is a cultural icon who has been described as a 'mini style star' and has been celebrated for her 'fashion moments' over the years," Bey's lawyers claim in a new filing, according to The Blast. "Her life and activities are followed extensively by the media and the public," the document continues. "Most significantly, Blue Ivy Carter has achieved a significant amount of fame, particularly at such a young age. She also has a noted and well-chronicled interest in fashion." (Not to mention her own stylist and personal shopper.) "Given these factors, Blue Ivy Carter is capable of and interested in becoming the face of a brand. For this reason, the factual context demonstrates that BGK filed the Application with the intent to build a brand around Blue Ivy Carter and her public reputation and renown." Bey's team also points out it's "Blue Ivy Carter," not "Blue Ivy" that she wants to trademark and that "the presence of the word 'CARTER' ties the commercial impression of BGK's Mark to the celebrity Blue Ivy Carter rather than Opposer's regional event planning business." Bey's also pointed to instances where Morales tried to align her brand with the singer's daughter, such as having a sale on Blue Ivy's birthday. She previously accused the event planner of attempted extortion, saying Morales offered up her brand to Bey and JAY-Z in return for $10 million. According to The Blast, Morales denies the claims.

Conducted in May, the interview is generating a bunch of buzz courtesy of secondhand press commentary like that f New York Times reporter Taylor Lorenz, who tweeted an excerpt from it and wrote, "I like this interview b/c this is exactly the type of deranged pseudo scientific crap I would get into if I was a mega rich celeb." What pseudo scientific crap is that, you ask? Let's see … "We have the air purifier. We have the stickers you put on the back of your phone for radiation. I have the EMF [electromagnetic field] detector that picks up the waves in the air. I've had the whole house checked by a professional," Miranda said of her preventative home health measures. She went on to explain that she and her husband Evan Spiegel have a switch in their "Malibu house" that "turns all the power off, except for the fridge and security cameras, in the nighttime," which Twitter users found dubious (so Snapchat's Evan Spiegel is "off the grid" at night I guess, wrote one commenter). Miranda also said she and her Snapchat-founding husband "mop the floors" with hot water and eucalyptus oil, which she claims is "good for the wood and it's antibacterial," a point commenters are calling out on Twitter because let's be honest, a couple whose combined estimated net worth is almost $3.75 billion are probably not mopping the floors of their mansion … or is that mansions? But, wait! There's more. "I also have an alkaline water filter so I can pick the pH of our water … You don't want to be going too alkaline because you do need a little stomach acid to digest your food," Miranda offered, adding, "I like using Palo Santo to clear the energy in the space, and I also have little diffusers around the house with essential oils, depending on what's going on."

In other lifestyles of the rich, famous and organically concerned news … Kourtney Kardashian has announced her lifestyle website Poosh.com will soon be selling a plain-looking white or grey orb that diffuses plant-based essential oils for $100 a pop. According to People, the Positively Poosh Ultrasonic Diffuser Kit, which is available for purchase starting Sept. 30, was developed as a team effort with the Canadian wellness brand Saje Natural Wellness and offers "a variety of all-natural benefits" like releasing "negative ions," which helps clear the air of allergens. "The diffuser is elevated and simple, and goes with any décor so it seamlessly blends into your home," Kourtney told Instagram followers of the product. The kit also comes with an oil blend of rose, lavender and grapefruit. When she launched the site , Kourtney announced she created Poosh "because I felt that there was something missing in the healthy lifestyle space."

Later this week, Amal Clooney will celebrate her fifth wedding anniversary with George Clooney. But on Tuesday, Sept. 24, the international human rights lawyer had bigger concerns on her mind. People reports Amal gave some impassioned comments on the state of the freedom of the press in 2019 while speaking on a panel about the subject. "Our research targets laws being used every day to punish journalists for their work," she said. "Laws like criminal libel, vague or overboard hate speech laws, so-called fake news laws, and laws that muzzle the media by imposing arbitrary conditions on ownership, accreditation and funding." She went on to slam Donald Trump for his treatment of the press and habit of dismissing reporting as "fake news." "Such laws are part of a rising drumbeat of legal assault on journalists," Amal said, "and they are particularly open to abuse when senior officials vilify the media, creating a toxic environment in which individual journalists are incredibly vulnerable to attack." Amal was named a special envoy on global media freedom at the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office back in April.

Describing Bruce as a "valued friend and cherished family member" in "Inside Out," Demi wrote that Bruce and Emma's marriage led to her own daughters getting "two new little sisters — Mabel and Evelyn," and added, "I'm so grateful we all have one another" (via Page Six). She also revealed her relationship with Bruce became strained when he decided he wasn't sure if he wanted to be married and gave Demi the impression he didn't like it when work took her away from the family. "I'd definitely like to engage with them before it comes out," she told WSJ. "I have a sensitivity to anything that might make them uncomfortable. I had no interest in anybody being a bad guy."

Just in time for her stint as a judge on Australia's "The Masked Singer," Lindsay Lohan has released her first music recording since 2008's "Bossy." The clubby track, "Xanax," sees Linds singing about how her new love chills her out a la the titular benzo and makes repeated references to the singer's "social anxiety." "I don't like the parties in L.A., I go home, in a bad mood, pass out, wake up alone, just to do it all over again," Lindsay sings at one point (via People). "I got social anxiety / but you're like Xanax to me," she sings later in the song, following the lyric up with, "I got social anxiety / when you kiss me I can't breathe." The actress released the song, a collaborative effort with Finnish singer Alma, with a music video on Instagram on Tuesday, Sept. 24. "This video is a compilation of vignettes of life," Lindsay captioned the post. "Family, love, the process of moving forward and letting go of the past. To live and be happy, free of fear. Just to be grateful and open our eyes to our opportunities instead of numbing the mind💋." In a recent interview for "Studio 10," Lindsay said she's also working on a TV show for American audiences that "will be like a reality show but not a reality show." Christina Anstead is 'back on bed rest' three weeks after Hudson's birth
"I'm a moron." So said a defeated Christina Anstead on Instagram just days after she hosted a 9th birthday bash for her daughter. "I felt totally fine since one week postpartum, like, zero pain … but I was resting and taking it easy … and then I threw Tay[lor] a birthday party and was lifting and running around all weekend," the "Flip or Flop" star continued, sharing a photo from the bed she was sharing with her 3-week-old son, Hudson Anstead. "Yesterday I woke up like, 'Oh, crap,' and today 'Oh, crap' turned into 'Oh, s—," she shared. Christina went on to use her experience as a chance to warn other new moms to be careful. "I definitely hurt myself. It's not the C-section incision area that hurts, it's my left abdomen and it hurts bad. So please, anyone who just had a baby, don't overdue [sic] it. I always want to be the people pleaser in the family and make sure everyone knows how much I care about them, but in doing so, I wasn't taking care of myself," she told followers. "Back to bed rest and baby cuddles." Christina and Ant Anstead welcomed Hudson on Sept. 6.
