Halle Berry may be back to the single life
Is it already over between Halle Berry and music producer Alex Da Kid? InTouch reports Halle is single again after her recent vacation to French Polynesia with Alex. "Halle broke up with Alex smack in the middle of their romantic getaway in Bora-Bora," an insider tells the tab. "Halle decided he was too young and his communication skills were terrible. She said she needs someone who can think for themselves and is mature, smart and all-around adventurous." Posts on Halle's Instagram over the past week seem to confirm that at some point during her trip, she found closure with something personal. In her last post from Bora Bora, she shared an ominous looking picture of clouds, writing, "It's a wrap." She was on Tahiti Beach a day or so later, where she posted a picture of her feet in the water with the caption, "learning to let the universe direct my steps." A few days later, she appeared to be in need of some emotional mending. "Never underestimate the healing power of these three things: Ocean. Music. Sunset," she wrote before sharing a selfie from her bed with the caption, "There's no place like home." Halle and Alex reportedly met over the summer before going public with their romance in September.

Mariah Carey spotlights Bryan Tanaka and her twins at Christmas concert
Mariah Carey gave her third and final Beacon Theater performance a real-life romance twist on Tuesday, Dec. 5, in New York City, courtesy of her boyfriend and backup dancer, Bryan Tanaka. The 33-year-old was at Mimi's side for much of the show, escorting her around the stage, helping hoist her above the other male dancers and sharing loving looks with the 47-year-old pop icon when she performed "All I Want For Christmas is You," according to People. Bryan wasn't the only representative from Mariah's personal life onstage during the show. At one point, her 6-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, came out to sing backup for their mom during her new Christmas song, "The Star. "Thank you for being here for me for so long," Mimi told her adoring fans. "I really, truly appreciate it." Mariah reportedly promoted her dancer BF to Creative Director for her team, according to a recent report from the New York Post. The move has raised some eyebrows, particularly since she seems to be axing multiple members of her longtime staff.

Kim Kardashian accused of knocking off Comme des Garcons pieces
Did Kim Kardashian West rip off the sparkly silver dress she put North West in last year during New York Fashion Week? Diet Prada, an Instagram account devoted to following fashionistas who steal one another's ideas, shared a post that read "Kim des GARCONS," griping in the caption: "Just when we thought you may have rocked the glitter better than Bey, you had to go and rip an extremely limited edition @commedesgarcons x Kosho & Co souvenir jacket for your @thekidssupplyline AND that one-of-a-kind custom sequin @vetements_official dress made specially for North. Great message for the little ones!" In an album, the account pointed to the original, Kawakubo-designed Comme des Garçons jacket and this pic, which shows Kim wearing the Gvasalia-designed gown she had replicated for North via Kids Supply. A rep for the brand told the New York Post: "The idea behind Kids Supply is to give people the opportunity to purchase things that would never be available for children otherwise. We decided to release the Demna dress after making one on our own for North because it got such a great reaction and an overflow of people wanting it for their own children. We named it the Demna dress to pay homage to him as it was one of Kim and North's favorite mommy and me moments." The company's spokesperson went on to defend the jacket, telling the Post, "The Rei jacket was a mixture of some our favorite souvenir jacket art. We have been collecting for years and have archive of them. We named it the Rei Jacket out of the utmost respect for her." The proceeds from sales of both the dress and the jacket are reportedly slated for donation to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

Kim Zolciak's father refuses TV reunion offer
The drama continues between Kim Zolciak and her parents … Last week, Kim slammed her father, Joe Zolciak, for telling In Touch his daughter and her husband Kroy Biermann should have gotten rid of their pet dog after he bit her son, Kash. "It's disgusting and sad," Kim tweeted in response to his quotes. "My parents haven't been a part of my life or [the kids] for 6 yrs. They have never met Kash or our dog. I do know they will do anything for a dollar. We love Sinn, he's part of our family." According to Life&Style, Kim recently offered to put her differences with her father aside for a TV reunion where they might find common ground. Joe, however, reportedly wants nothing to do with his daughter. "I have no plans to speak to [Kim] ever again," he said. "She would have to crawl up my driveway on her hands and knees and apologize to my wife," he added, in order for him to consent to a reunion. The wife in question is Kim's mother, Karen, whom Kim reportedly did not invite to be part of the reunion.
Tina Fey honored as a leading voice in American comedy
The cast of Broadway's forthcoming musical version of "Mean Girls" turned out to support Tina Fey on Tuesday, Dec. 5, when she was honored at the 2017 New York Stage & Film Winter Gala in New York City. The cast — Taylor Louderman (Regina George), Kate Rockwell (Karen Smith), Ashley Park (Gretchen Wieners), Erika Henningsen (Cady Heron), and Kerry Butler (Ms. Norbury) — along with "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" stars Ellie Kemper and Carol Kane took turns smiling on the red carpet and cheering for Tina, who was recognized by New York Stage & Film Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer for her work as "a leading voice in American comedy," according to statement from the organization. Don Katz, the founder and CEO of Audble, Inc., joined Tina as an honoree at the gala, thanks to his company's new work supporting playwrights. Other celebs on hand for the gala included John Slattery, Peter Gallagher, Dana Delaney, Andrea Martin and Jennifer Westfeldt, according to JustJared. Proceeds from the event were earmarked to support the work of artists developing and producing original theater and film projects.
Time Person of the Year and 'silence breaker' Taylor Swift reflects on groping case
Over the summer, Taylor Swift earned widespread praise for the way she handled questions in court as she and a former DJ from Denver duked it out over whether he was at fault for groping her during a photo op. She won her countersuit, while his defamation suit against Taylor was tossed out by the judge. Now, Time is recognizing the singer as one of the "silence breakers" whose courage to speak out about sexual harassment and assault in a movement that ultimately took over much of 2017's major headlines. "When I testified, I had already been in court all week and had to watch this man's attorney bully, badger and harass my team including my mother over inane details and ridiculous minutiae, accusing them, and me, of lying," Taylor says in Time's Person of the Year issue. "My mom was so upset after her cross-examination, she was physically too ill to come to court the day I was on the stand. I was angry. In that moment, I decided to forego any courtroom formalities and just answer the questions the way it happened. This man hadn't considered any formalities when he assaulted me, and his lawyer didn't hold back on my mom — why should I be polite? I'm told it was the most amount of times the word 'a–' has ever been said in Colorado Federal Court." Taylor also urges other victims to refuse to accept blame for situations in which they are harassed or assaulted — or for waiting to come forward and tell someone about what happened. Finally, Taylor admits David Mueller never coughed up what he owed her for losing the case, which she has said she only brought as a means of creating awareness about why behavior like his is not acceptable. "When the jury found in my favor, the man who sexually assaulted me was court-ordered to give me a symbolic $1," she says. "To this day he has not paid me that dollar, and I think that act of defiance is symbolic in itself."
Lea Michele is 'proud' she's never changed her body for anyone else
Lea Michele was all about sharing her approach to a healthy body image at the #SistersinSweat Summit this week, where women spoke to teenage girls about the advantages of playing sports. "I'm proud that I never really changed my body for anyone else," Lea told Us Weekly at the event. "I think that I've always been told, and we're always told, especially nowadays with social media and everything, that you have to look a certain way. … I really just honored my uniqueness. I believe that's really helped me get to where I am today." The singer and actress also opened up about her favorite workout routine. "What's super easy for me is hiking because I live near some really great trails. I can literally get in my car, drive for less than a minute and be on the top of a mountain 20 minutes later," she revealed. "It is so spiritually incredible as well as physically — I look for workouts that have to be also good for my spirit as much as they are for my body. I can't be at a gym with crazy music playing and people looking at themselves in the mirror." Lea, who's dealt with her fair share of painful experiences over the years, also pointed out how much exercise can help when it comes to emotions. "Anything that you're feeling, working out is the best thing for you. If you're down, working out is good. If you're in a good mood, working out is good!" she said. "It's like, it makes me feel good on all levels. Taking care of myself is the number one priority because I have to be in my best physical and mental shape in order to do my job. And working out is my time."
Gwyneth Paltrow, Tracy Anderson called out for GOOP's fast weight loss advice
It's not exactly news that Gwyneth Paltrow's health claims on GOOP have been questionable, at best. But this week, The Independent is devoting an entire feature to the Q&A GOOP posted with celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson. In "How to lose weight fast," Tracy advises working out every day, going super low to no-carb and removing gluten from the diet, among other things, as a means of dropping "around eight pounds" in one to two weeks. Nutritionist and author Rhiannon Lambert tells The Independent she finds the advice in the post shocking and potential harmful for readers' overall "relationships with food." "Firstly it is important to note that fast 'weight loss' is often not body fat but the number on the scales shifting, often from water weight, which is why I always advocate a healthy balanced approach over time to losing actually body fat as weight," Rhiannon explains. "In some cases the stress on the body alone may delay and hinder any desired weight loss." Rhiannon also points to studies that have indicated there's no scientific evidence that low-to-no carb and gluten-free diets are healthier. "In fact, some gluten-free products are actually worse than the original item itself as they tend to have added ingredients owed to the lack of the protein gluten," she says. The nutritionist adds that working out daily when you're not consuming carbs can cause serious emotional issues due to the drop in seratonin that combination creates. "It is not sensible to eliminate whole food groups or make drastic dietary changes which are not sustainable," she says. The Q&A also directs readers to Tracy's protein bars as potential meal replacement sources, another bad idea for overall health, according to Rhiannon. Earlier this year, a watchdog group filed a formal complaint against GOOP in which it cited 51 "deceptive" claims regarding health and nutrition.
John Travolta says reports about mobster film being pulled are 'fake news'
John Travolta is frustrated with reports implying his new "Gotti" film will never see the light of day. Although Lionsgate yanked the movie just 10 days before it was supposed to be released, the change was nothing more than a hiccup, according to its star. "Unfortunately, the reports were speculation bordering on fake news," John told Deadline this week. He explained that in fact, he wanted a larger distribution deal than what was planned by the studio. "Lionsgate was planning on a minimal release, and I did an investigation into people who might have the interest and financial wherewithal to better release it. Ed is a fan of mine and of the Gotti story and really wanted to see the movie. I invited his group, they saw it and bought it. That is the simple explanation for this. It wasn't dropped. It wasn't easy to get Lionsgate to give it up. They said no, twice, and I literally begged them to reconsider and they finally and generously let it go. We signed this deal about three weeks ago, to purchase back the film from Lionsgate. Our mistake was we should have said something right then and discussed our plan for the film. We didn't anticipate this speculation that is so grossly wrong."
