On Wednesday, Dec. 4, Justin Timberlake shared a public apology for what he said was alcohol-fueled behavior that led to a "strong lapse in judgment" when he was photographed holding hands with his "Palmer" costar, Alisha Wainwright, on a balcony in New Orleans, where they're filming the movie. So where does that leave the married couple — and why did Justin opt to go public with the apology, anyway? According to multiple outlets' sources, Jessica believes her husband, who said in his post that "nothing happened" between him and Alisha and apologized directly to Jessica and their son for his behavior, which he said he regrets. "He's charming and outgoing. And obviously he drank too much this time, but Jessica believes he didn't cheat on her," a source close to the couple tells People, adding that Jessica "will stand by" Justin. A second insider told the outlet, "It was good that he apologized publicly but obviously the real work he is doing is in private and hopefully this was just a bad drunken night of this type of behavior." When the photos and video of Justin holding Alisha's hand and Alisha resting a hand on the actor's knee surfaced, another source assured the magazine "it was literally nothing," explained that the costars were part of a group that included friends, crew and others and pointed out that Justin was aware they were "on an open balcony in New Orleans and he's famous," implying if there was something to hide, he would have hidden it. Sources are telling E! News essentially the same thing. "He feels terrible that this happened and for putting Jessica through the public scrutiny. He knows she doesn't deserve any of this and that he messed up," says one insider. That source notes that Justin's hoping the public nature of his apology will help his family "start to move on," but adds that what happened has still "had an effect on their marriage and [Jessica's] trust in [Justin]."

Jessica Simpson reveals title, release date and more details about her new memoir

This summer, Jessica Simpson announced plans to release a memoir in the new year. She revealed the final details about the project this week. Titled "Open Book" and due out Feb. 4, 2020, on Harper Collins' Dey imprint, the memoir's black and white, Russell James-shot cover shows its author smiling and relaxed, her hair falling in loose waves around her face, according to People. Inside, Jess details her journey from a 16-year-old Texan singer with a recording contract to the star of "Newlyweds" with her now-ex-husband, Nick Lachey, to the "deep connection with fans" that aided in her transformation into a mogul whose eponymous fashion line is now a billion-dollar brand. "I have been approached many times over the years about writing a book. I never felt right to me until this very moment," the mother of three told People earlier this year. "I hope that by telling my whole story and not holding back, I can help move people to walk through their fears and defeat their challenges, as I am working hard to do every day with mine."

Yep, it seems Prince Louis, 1, has started to expand his conversational chatter, as Duchess Kate revealed while visiting Peterley Manor Farm this week in England, where she helped kids with holiday-ish tasks like making Christmas decorations, picking out trees and sending letters to Santa. According to a Twitter post from reporter for the Daily Mail, Kate chuckled when a little boy raised his hand and hollered, "me, me." "You remind me of my little Louis," she reportedly told the boy. "He keeps saying, 'Me, me, me' and he wants to come everywhere with me.'" Louis, Duchess Kate and Prince William's third child, arrived in April 2018.

Jamie Foxx: Oliver Stone told me to 'get the f— out' after an audition

Before he won his first Oscar for "Ray," Jamie Foxx had a learning experience while auditioning for Oliver Stone that's stayed with him. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter for a new roundtable discussion with a few of his peers, Jamie, 51, recalled the not-so-nice treatment he got from the famous director while trying to land a part in 1999's "Any Given Sunday." "I remember Oliver Stone, when I first auditioned, he was like, 'You're horrible,'" Jamie admitted. "And I was like, 'What?' [Because] I was a television actor so everything was loud … He was like, 'Just get the f— out of here.' As I'm walking out, he said, 'Jamie Foxx, slave to television.' But I learned from that toughness," Jamie continued. "If I gave myself any advice, I would have gone left instead of right, then I probably wouldn't have ended up in this situation," he said. A "I wanted to be married and work at Kodak — and all that sort of fell through. So, boom! I said, 'I'm on my way and I'll figure it out.' You've got to live it and then look back and say, 'OK.' Anna Faris has learned to trust her gut when it comes to certain matters — like a cheating significant other. On the latest edition of her "Unqualified" podcast, the actress — who is reportedly engaged to Michael Barrett and was previously married to Chris Pratt and Ben Indra — recalled suspecting an unnamed ex of cheating after her guest, tattoo artist Kat Von D, shared some similar stories. "I remember suspecting an ex of cheating on me. I woke him up in the middle of the night and I was like, 'Are you f—ing so-and-so?" Anna shared (via BuzzFeed). "And he was like, 'You're crazy.' Of course, I don't want to believe that anything [is going on]. But there was that gut feeling that was starting to grow more and more," Anna admitted. It wasn't until she split from the person that mutual friends confirmed her suspicions. "I do think as women we're sort of taught to suppress fear or suspicion because we might be deemed as suspicious or neurotic or crazy or whatever. So I think that in my case I was like, 'OK, maybe he's right. Maybe I am crazy,'" Anna explained. Gabrielle Union announced this week she sat down with NBC execs to discuss allegations "America's Got Talent" fostered a "toxic culture" before she and Julianne Hough learned their contracts would not be renewed. Julianne previously described her experience as a judge as having been "wonderful" despite reports the female judges were subject to inappropriate comments about their looks — and claims Gabrielle was often told her hairstyles were "too black." Now, Julianne is finally addressing the situation, if only to praise her former costar and network for tackling the matter rather than brushing it under the rug. "We need to start conversations and I just commend Gabrielle for speaking her truth and starting a conversation," Julianne said this week on "Today," according to CNN. "I'm really proud of NBC as well for also showing up and starting a narrative, and that's what's going to change the workplace and the paradigm that we've been working in for many, many years, and (it's) shifting and I think that's really exciting." Following the initial Variety report, which detailed multiple claims about pervasive racial insensitivity, both SAG-AFTRA and NBC have said they plan to investigate what's been happening behind-the-scenes on the show. Time's Up has also called for change at NBC. Series creator Simon Cowell, as well as Howie Mandel and Terry Crews, are set to remain in the judge roles next season.

One thing's for sure — Eddie Murphy is undoubtedly a family man. The comic stopped by "Ellen" this week to talk about his return to "Saturday Night Live" and his new movie, "Dolemite Is My Name," which he says prompted his decision to host "SNL" for the first time since 1984. Ellen, of course, had some non-work-related questions for her 58-year-old guest, including what it's like to have 10 kids ranging in age from 1 to 30. "It's funny. Men kind of look at me like, 'He's crazy. How much did that s— cost?'" he joked (via People). "And women, it's kind of like, something sexy about it I think. 'Eddie Murphy must be doing this thing. Eddie Murphy be getting it in.'" Ultimately, though, he's all for it — he even recently became a grandfather. "It seems OK," he said. "I like it, I'm happy with it."
