Kate Hudson cuddles with her three kids after a 'beautiful' Mother's Day
"Oh happy day! π" That's how a blissed out looking Kate Hudson captioned a sweet photo from her first Mother's Day with her new daughter, Rani, who was on hand with big brothers Ryder, 14, and Bing, 7, to help fete their famous mom on Sunday, May 12. The pic earned high praise from Kate's own mom, Goldie Hawn, who commented, "Now that makes a mama like me proud !! Gorgeous!! β€οΈππππ." Though Kate didn't elaborate much on how the family spent the afternoon, on Monday, she assured followers a lovely time was had by all and sent some love in Goldie's direction. "We had such a beautiful and jam packed Mother's Day yesterday and my phone was gleefully tucked away. I didn't get a chance to share some love for my beautiful Mama via Instagram with all of you," Kate posted beneath a video of Goldie holding Rani. Engagement rumors swirl around Padma Lakshmi, Adam Dell
Is there a wedding on the horizon for Padma Lakshmi and her on-again boyfriend, Adam Dell? The couple sparked engagement rumors over the weekend during a hand-in-hand stroll around the SoHo section of New York City. Though she was dressed casually in jeans and a sweater, Padma opted to accessorize with a massive, opal-shaped diamond ring, which she wore on her left ring finger. Reps for Padma have already denied the "Top Chef" is engaged to Page Six, but have not explained the sparkler. Padma's kept such matters to herself in the past, though. After she welcomed a daughter in 2010 and began raising her with her late boyfriend, Teddy Forstmann, she did not reveal who the little girl's father was initially. When Teddy died, it was revealed Adam was the father as he and Padma went to court over her custody. They later settled out of court and began dating again in 2017.

Missy Elliott makes history with honorary Berklee doctorate
Just four months after Missy Elliott became the first female rapper inducted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Missy "Misdemeanor" made history again by becoming the first female rapper ever given an honorary doctorate degree by Berklee College of Music, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world. Essence reports Missy, who was described by the school as a "groundbreaking solo superstar, pioneering producer, songwriter, singer, and rapper," warned students that after their graduation "there will be ups and downs" and they should "prepare for that," sharing some of the setbacks she'd encountered over the course of her career. "As long as you are breathing, it is never too late," she said in closing. "Don't forget that. You have come too far to quit." In a video posted to her Instagram after the ceremony, the 10-time Grammy winner grooved to the beat of some music in her cap and gown as she danced with her degree facing the camera. "CREATE YOUR OWN LANE!!!!" she captioned the post. "Sincerely Dr. MISSY ELLIOTT." Justin Timberlake was also given an honorary doctorate at the Berklee event.
Hugh Jackman surprises homeless man with a pile of cash, invites him to dinner
The star who played "The Greatest Showman," P.T. Barnum, also happens to be a pretty great guy. A spy in Glasgow, Scotland, told the U.K.'s Evening Times she watched Hugh Jackman randomly hand a homeless man 100 pounds before inviting him to the opening of a high-end new restaurant last week. "At first I didn't even notice it was him as he was wearing a cap but I stopped and saw him put all these notes in this homeless guy's hands," the onlooker recalled. "The guy asked him why he was giving him the money but he didn't even know who Hugh was. It wasn't until I heard his accent and looked closer that I recognized him." The two reportedly had a long conversation before Hugh invited the man to join him for dinner. "The guy was laughing saying he wasn't well-dressed enough," said the woman who watched their exchange. She said the pair shook hands and when Hugh walked off, the woman told the man who he'd been chatting with. "He looked really shocked but happy and said he'd invited him for dinner at the Blythswood and that he wished he had gone," she said, adding, "I felt like crying after it as well and I have huge respect for Hugh."
Kim Kardashian West had to take breathing lessons to handle her Met Gala corset
Beauty is pain, y'all β just ask Kim Kardashian West, who recently revealed a new detail about how the complicated extremes she went to for her Thierry Mugler designed, corset-centric Met Gala look. Kim previously told Vogue she could neither sit down (which we imagine makes a trip to the ladies room even more fun) nor eat in her outfit. It turns out she also had to take "breathing lessons" from corset legend Mr. Pearl. "7 months in the making and fittings in Montreal, Paris and LA," she posted on Instagram over the weekend in reference to the dress. "Corset breathing lessons from none other than Mr. Pearl. It was worth it all!!! And this was the start of a magical inspiring connection. Stay tuned for more β¨." Will do, Kim. Unless we vicariously faint on your behalf from looking at this picture again.
Mindy Kaling sends 'love to those who are missing their mothers' on Mother's Day
For a lot of folks this past Mother's Day, Mindy Kaling's mom-focused Instagram post was just what the doctor ordered. Amid scores of posts showing sons and daughters spending time with their family's matriarchs in honor of the holiday, Mindy, who lost her mother, Swati, to pancreatic cancer eight years ago, honed in on the truth β that she "always used to dread Mother's Day because of how much I miss my own mom." She admitted she felt "so jealous" at seeing mothers and daughters enjoying brunches together on Mother's Day. "But this year, I feel lucky to have my daughter, because telling her stories about her grandmother is a great distraction. But I will always feel that hole in my heart," she continued. "So I want to send lots of love to those out there who are missing their mothers. What's a memory you have about your mom that makes you smile?" she asked. Fans were more than happy to play along and a long thread of stories about unique moms followed. Even Billie Lourd, who lost both her mother, Carrie Fisher, and grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, in a matter of days, spotted the thoughtful post, replying with a simple red heart Emoji. Ava Phillippe was moved as well. "Your daughter is so lucky to be able to see her grandma's legacy and words passed on through you," she commented, "and to have such a thoughtful and caring mama ππ." Mindy welcomed her daughter, Katherine, in 2017, giving her the middle name, Swati, presumably after her mom.
Kanye West honors Donda West at weekly Sunday service
Like Mindy Kaling, Kanye West couldn't help but think about his late mother this past Mother's Day. Joined by Kim Kardashian West and some of her family members, the rapper and newly minted father of four used his weekly Sunday service to honor his mom, Donda West, and other mothers courtesy of a large, cream robes clad gospel choir and a band. The Daily Mail reports the service began with the choir β including North West β performing 'Ye's 2005 song, "Hey Mama," which he wrote about Donda prior to her 2007 death. The ballad details the ways Donda taught Kanye good values after overcoming major life obstacles. The service was also livestreamed. Kanye and Kim welcomed their fourth child, a son, last week.
Jerry Ferrara is a dad!
Congrats are in order for "Entourage" star Jerry Ferrara and his wife, Breanne! On Mother's Day, the couple revealed they'd welcomed their first child last week. "Everyone!!! @breanneracanoferrara and I are proud to introduce you to our beautiful baby boy⦠Jacob Michael Ferrara. Born 5/5/19 at 11:52 am," Jerry captioned a photo of the newly expanded family. "Mom and baby are doing great and I'm still amazed by the strength, Will Power, determination and self belief my wife showed during birth. It's the greatest thing I've ever seen anyone do in my lifetime. I'll try and limit the baby pics but I cannot promise I can resist. Also to all the [moms] out there. I know this is early. But Happy Mother's Day. You are all Real life Super [Heroes]!" In another post, the proud pop shared nickname options including "Cub," telling his followers they planned to "see which one sticks." Jerry and Breanne tied the knot last summer and announced they were expecting earlier this year.
Baby rumors hit Naomi Campbell
Don't believe the hype! On Mother's Day, Naomin Campbell posted a photo of herself holding an infant as she smiled and gazed down at the baby in her arms. Her caption was just three hearts, which followers apparently took to mean she'd adopted a baby. "Wait what? Your a mother..omg congrats queen," one fan commented. As similar comments rolled in, Page Six reached out to the supermodel's rep β and was told Naomi had not adopted a child. She met the baby while visiting an orphanage in Lagos.
