Kate Hudson shows off her abs seven months after giving birth
Three weeks ago, Kate Hudson revealed she was a few pounds shy of her post-baby goal weight after welcoming her daughter, Rani. Judging her from her latest Instagram post, she may have hit that magic number. Either way, her abs look pretty amazing for a mother of three with a 7-month-old at home. Kate's humor is clearly still intact, too, perhaps because of the healthy food an exercise program she's said she's adhering to. "Bored on set…? Take some weird mirror selfies in the trailers bathroom 🤷♀️," she captioned this Spidey-esque shot. Kate, 40, announced she was partnering with Weight Watchers two months after Rani was born, telling her followers she wanted to lose 25 pounds in time to start shooting a movie this spring. She has not disclosed what the project is, but she has been dutifuly sharing her progress, fitness-wise, since then. "I'd like to try new workouts and eat as healthy as I can," she explained when she started her weight loss journey. " I wanna do all this and keep up milk production, raise my kids, work everyday, make time for my man, have girlfriend time and stay sane!" From the looks of things, mission accomplished. Hey, nobody ever said sanity requires abstaining from the occasional wacky bathroom mirror selfie!

Lori Loughlin keeps her cool amid trial stress with a yoga class
Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli could be headed to jail for their alleged involvement in a wide-ranging college admissions scandal. But if the pressure's getting to Lori, she's not showing much sweat — other than at the yoga studio. On Thursday, May 9, the former "Fuller House" star was spotted toting a yoga mat under her arm as she exited a yoga class in Los Angeles, according to Page Six. She looked calm and unbothered by paparazzi attention in a photo published by the tab. That may be because she's said to be increasingly confident she'll get off the hook when it comes to serving time behind bars for allegedly paying out $500,00 worth of bribes with Mossimo to get their daughters into USC. The couple recently pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering, according to Page Six. A source recently told People Lori "feels like she's got a valid defense, and that when all the evidence comes out, that she won't be found guilty."
Ariana Grande's Givenchy news sparks some hilarious memes
At this point, a silhouette of a long, high ponytail on a petite famous woman leads most minds to think of Ariana Grande. That probably explains the jokes and memes that popped up on social media on Thursday, May 9, after Givenchy shared a video silhouette of said ponytail-having gal along with a psuedo-tease that read, "GUESS WHO? THE NEW FACE OF #GIVENCHY, REVEALED TOMORROW." Um, yeah, The Internet knows who that is, guys. "That's definitely not Ariana Grande," said one sarcastic commenter on Instagram (via CNN). Asked another: "Is it Lebron James?" A third declared, "It's John Cena." Meanwhile, on Twitter, the Ariana tease campaign got manipulated in some jokey memes like this one by use Jona, who wrote, "It's squidward omg," in reply to Givenchy. Turns out it was, in fact, Ariana, who's now been officiallhy announced as the new face of Givenchy's 2019 Fall and Winter campaign, set to debut in July. "A modern muse and the voice of a generation, Ariana has emerged as one of the most influential forces in pop culture today," the brand said in a press release about the singer's new role. In the same release, Ariana gushed: "I love this clothing and the confidence and joy it brings to the people wearing it. Not only is the clothing timeless and beautiful but I'm proud to work with a brand that makes people feel celebrated for who they are, and unapologetic about whatever they want to be." Yes. Even Squidward.
Cardi B shares moving message of support for Britney Spears
When it comes to Britney Spears' public struggles with mental health, Cardi B, who recorded an entire album tied to the pain and challenges of celebrity, feels the singer's pain and wants her to know she's got her support. "I love you and I totally understand," the "Invasion of Privacy" rapper told Britney via video in a recent ET clip. "Not only will fame drive you insane, but it's like, once you have money … everybody wants to take it from you," she explained to the news outlet. "Sometimes, like, if you just have your own personal problems, when you're a celebrity, everybody want to sue you, everybody want a piece of the money that you worked for. It's very frustrating, and then you have like the whole world looking at you and no privacy … It's crazy. I can't imagine if you do it for such a long time like her." The sweet message comes after Britney, who's shared her affection for Cardi's music on social media, completed a treatment program while taking some much needed time to herself. Speaking to Us Weekly about Britney's next move, a source recently said: "She's going to continue with outpatient [treatment] three days a week and she's taking her medication as prescribed."

Kylie Jenner drops $50k on a pair of vintage fanny packs
Fun fact: Among the many super expensive bags in 21-year-old billionaire Kylie Jenner's $500,000 purse closet are a new pair of fanny packs that retail for a combined $50,000. Yep, the '90s are definitely large and in charge in Kylie's accessory orbit right now, a fact she proved recently with a pair of posts on her Instagram Story that featured what Page Six reports is a brand new, limited-edition Louis Vuitton monogrammed mink fanny pack. It's apparently from the line's 2006 "Les Extraordinaires" collection. The price — $24,500, according to Page Six — is extraordinary on its own. It's even more extraordinary, however, that this week, she shared a glimpse of another new fanny pack. This one is a 1996 Vivienne Westwood for Louis Vuitton monogram piece that she also reportedly plunked down $24,5000 for. Both of the throw-back bags came from the vintage shop, What Goes Around Comes Around.
Duchess Meghan speaks out about the importance of education for girls
Less than a week after giving birth to her first child, Duchess Meghan is working on her mission to advocate for broader rights for women and girls around the world. ET reports the new mom appeared in a pre-recorded message at a gala in New York City on Thursday, May 9, to raise money and awareness for The Campaign for Female Education (CFED), one of multiple women's rights advocacy groups the former actress has been working with since she married Prince Harry. CFED's goal is to "break the cycle of poverty and inequality in rural Africa by educating girls and investing in economic and leadership opportunities for young women," according to its website. "As I said on International Women's Day, a girl who is educated becomes a woman who is influential," Meghan said in her message, which was received with cheers, according to ET. She added that the Queen's Commonwealth Trust hopes to identify, support and connect leaders in the field. The Trust is the same group that organized a panel Meghan appeared on during International Women's Day in March. "When women miss out on careers, education or opportunities because of the system that they live in," she said at the time, "we all suffer."
Halle Berry jokes about her new dog training skills
Who knew?! It turns out Halle Berry's experience training with Belgian Malinois dogs for two to three hours a day ahead of shooting "John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum" left her something of a dog whisperer. "I learned so much about dog training," Halle marveled when she stopped by "The Tonight Show" this week (via People). "I taught my dogs so many things I learned from the trainers." She said the breed she worked with was "aggressive, cuddly, ferocious and loyal," the last of which is a good thing since she added she "had to be able to command these dogs on set." She then translated those skills to her daily life as the owner of a Labradoodle — or so she said. "If you really train them long and hard enough, you can teach a dog to speak. I got my dog to talk," she quipped. Jimmy Fallon then played a recorded clip of what Halle said was her dog talking about being in "the doghouse" for eating some burgers he or she wasn't supposed to have. "They were for the kids," the "dog" said in a hilarious low voice. Finally, she admitted that maybe her dog doesn't talk quite yet. The pooch doesn't seem to mind making dog sounds into Halle's phone when she has her "My Talking Pet" app on, though!
Ellen DeGeneres on the 2020 election: 'I kind of have a candidate …' in mind
Like Taylor Swift, who largely stayed away from politics until recent developments in the U.S. forced her to take a stand and share her opinions with fans, Ellen DeGeneres long kept politics off her show other than occasional exceptions like Cory Booker. While chatting with Variety the day of her Emmy campaign event this week for her standup show, "Relatable," however, the comic made it clear she's intent on taking action to change the direction things have been going in this country as the 2020 campaign nears. "I care deeply about our country and what's happening to it," she told the magazine. "And the world, the environment and everything that's going on. I have my opinions. I try not to bring it in. I'm not a political comedian. I'm political but I'm not the kind of person that's going to talk about politics in standup. But I definitely think that we need a change, and we'll figure out who that person is. I'm going to wait and see who ends up getting everybody's vote and we'll see who I get behind … I kind of have a candidate but I'm just going to wait."
Will Smith and other stars are earning more from Netflix than major studios today: Report
A new report from Variety shows Netflix has been offering Hollywood stars substantially bigger initial paychecks than many traditional studios lately. Will Smith, who once got about $20 million for a big studio picture, is trimming his request for the upcoming Columbia Pictures' movie, "Bad Boys For Life," according to the outlet. But he's expected to take home $35 million from Netflix for his work on "Bright 2." He's not alone, according to Variety, which points to the increasingly smaller offers being made to folks like Tom Cruise for would-be blockbusters. The one downside? More streams don't translate to stars' wallets the way more box office ticket sales do in traditional movie situations. Once the actors get paid, that's all she wrote.
