Katy Perry dishes on the new song she recorded with her future daughter in mind
Katy Perry's getting ready to release her sixth studio album, "Smile," and welcome her first child with fiance, Orlando Bloom. It's a lot at once, but as Katy told fans this week, she feels "empowered" about having been able to create new music while creating new life. During a "Virtual Celebrity Session" on SiriusXM Hits 1 on Tuesday, July 28. Asked what new song from "Smile" she's most excited for her daughter-to-be to hear, she explained that the last song on the album, "What Makes a Woman," is actually dedicated to her baby, in a way. "It's a song about how you are going to have a tough time measuring what truly makes a woman because women are so many things," Katy explained, according to JustJared. "… And [women are] such chameleons, and so adaptable, and so malleable and transformative and can handle the weight of the world on their backs and do it all in heels and make it look pretty effortless sometimes," she continued. "I feel very empowered creating a life and being a working woman whilst doing that. It's like, I mean, it's like, you know, can you create limbs while promoting a record, hello! I feel good, I feel like I have a lot of energy, I feel really blessed with my body and I have, you know, so much love for what I do … so 'What Makes a Woman' will be a song that will kind of secretly be dedicated to her." "Smile" is due out Aug. 28.

The music world is stepping up, big time, to support Megan Thee Stallion as she recovers from a harrowing shooting that left bullet fragments in both of her feet. On Wednesday, after showing off get-well gifts she'd received from Rihanna and Lizzo on social media, the rapper posted about the flowers Beyonce sent her. "Queen, Sending You All My Love. God Bless, Beyonce," read the card Bey sent with a white bouquet. Rihanna and her team at Fenty sent Megan flowers as well, along with a card that read, "Wishing you a full and speedy recovery, Meg! Just know you've got a whole crew over here sending good vibes your way!" Lizzo, meanwhile, sent a stuffed animal filled with candy. The gifts — and public apologies from the likes of 50 Cent — come after mean-spirited memes circulated online suggesting Megan was responsible for or "deserved" to be shot, according to ET. Beyonce and Megan teamed up earlier this year to record a remix of "Savage" as a fundraiser for COVID-19 relief in their hometown of Houston.

Instagram flags, then removes Madonna's Dr. Stella Immanuel post for 'making false claims' about COVID-19
A video Madonna shared on Instagram Tuesday was flagged and ultimately taken down for "making false claims" about the coronavirus, USAToday reports. The clip was a version of a viral video Donald Trump controversially shared this week. It features Dr. Stella Immanuel, whose claims have already been scrubbed from multiple social media platforms, saying she successfully treated 350 COVID-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine, inspiring Madge to call her "my hero." Hydroxychloroquine is the same malaria drug the president's touted as a cure, despite FDA and National Institute of Health warnings that the drug shouldn't be used to treat the disease. "They would rather let fear control the people and let the rich get richer and the poor get poorer," Madge captioned the since-deleted clip, according to the New York Post. After Instagram's third-party fact-checkers reviewed it, the clip first was blurred out and the caption was edited to read, "False information," with a link to more information on why the doctor's claims are "factually inaccurate." (The same doctor has also publicly stated she believes certain medicines are made with alien DNA.) Before Instagram removed the post entirely, Annie Lennox voiced concern that Madonna would share the video. "This is utter madness!!!" she wrote in the comments (via the Post). "I can't believe that you are endorsing this dangerous quackery. Hopefully your site has been hacked and you're just about to explain it."
Riley Keough reveals tattoo in honor of her late brother, Benjamin Keough
Riley Keough has found a way to keep her late brother, Benjamin Keough, with her in spirit after his suicide earlier this month. On Tuesday, the actress, 31, shared an image of the new tattoo she'd gotten on her collarbone as a memorial on her Instagram Story (via ET). In cursive, it spells out his name, "Benjamin Storm." Riley added a red heart on top of the shot. Prior to his death on July 12 at age 27, Benjamin had reportedly struggled with depression and pressure related to his family name. (He and Riley are Lisa Marie Presley's children and the grandchildren of Elvis Presley.) Earlier this month, Riley opened up about her grief in a moving post about her own struggle with losing him. "Mornings are the hardest," she wrote at the time. "I forget you're gone. I can't cry because of the fear that I will never stop. A pain that's new to me. You. There are no words for you. Angel is the closest I could think of. Pure light. Baby brother. Best friend. Wild man. Intellectual. Witness to my life. Twin soul. Protector. Too sensitive for this harsh world." She ended by writing that she hopes her brother gives her "strength to endure the giant hole" he's left in her heart, and that she hopes he's "cradled in love" and can feel her love, "and god."
David Schwimmer shares a 'Friends' reunion update
Sorry, "Friends" fans. That much discussed, much postponed "Friends" reunion is still in limbo, JustJared reports. David Schwimmer shared an update during a chat with the hosts of "Today" on Wednesday. And while there's still no date set because of safety issues related to the pandemic, it sounds like things are at least progressing towards a green light. "We have a lot of the creative aspects of the show kind of worked out. It's unscripted, but there are going to be some surprise funny bits," David shared. "The real question is, 'when?' We're still trying to figure that out because we want to do it when it's safe to do so for everyone." The "Friends" alum currently stars in "Intelligence," a new sitcom on Peacock, NBC's new streaming service.
Tamar Braxton's docuseries, 'Get ya Life!' postponed following her hospitalization
The premiere of Tamar Braxton's new docuseries, "Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life!," has been postponed following her hospitalization. WE tv tells People the show will now air starting on Sept. 10 instead of its originally scheduled premiere date of Aug. 30. "Tamar Braxton has been an incredibly important member of the WE tv family for more than a decade, and our first concern is for her recovery and well-being," the network said in a statement. "This series was conceived by Tamar and is a real portrait of a dynamic woman juggling the demands of being a single mother, a new relationship and her career." The statement continues, "We know, when the time is right, Tamar's fans will relate to seeing this honest portrait of her life, but — at this moment — we are joining with her fans and sending strength and healing in the hope that she is getting the support and help she needs at this difficult time." The change of plans comes after the singer, 43, was found unresponsive by her boyfriend, David Adefeso, in a Los Angeles hotel room on July 16. She was hospitalized before being moved to a hospital facility where she could get more targeted treatment. In an update he shared with press last week, David acknowledged Tamar was dealing with "professional and personal struggles including her battle with depression." He said she was alert and "receiving the best available medical attention to address those struggles and strengthen her mental health," vowing that he and Tamar's family would "remain by her side throughout her treatment."
Cameron Diaz loves having Benji Madden home with her and their daughter during the pandemic
It's not hard for new mom Cameron Diaz to see one big bright side to the restrictions of being on lockdown during the pandemic. "Before, my baby was an excuse to stay home, now I don't have to make that excuse," she joked on "Late Night With Seth Meyers" Tuesday, according to ET. "It's just what it is. I get to be with her." Cameron, 47, and Benji Madden, 41, welcomed their daughter, Raddix, shortly before New Year's Day. Now that social distancing mandates have sent much of the world into remote work mode, Cameron says another added benefit is having Benji at home so much during Raddix's first year. "The best part of it for having to stay within our little bubble within this COVID situation is that her dad, my husband Benji, he gets to be home," she told Seth. "He works from home. So he gets to be with her as much as I do — well, not as much because he's working all day long — but he actually gets to come out of a meeting and give her a kiss and play with her for a little bit, where as if he was going to the office every day, he wouldn't have been able to do that. So we're just having a lot of gratitude for that."
