Kim Kardashian West claps back at the Daily Mail's comment on her 'bad skin day'
Kim Kardashian West has been open about suffering psoriasis since she was diagnosed with the itchy, unsightly and sometimes painful skin condition on "Keeping Up With the Karashians" back in 2011. So when the Daily Mail referred to some bumps on her skin that were visible as she grabbed lunch with Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick this week, she didn't appreciate the attention. In a tweet and a post, the Mail referred to the makeup-covered bumps as an indication of a "bad skin day" for Kim. On Tuesday, Feb. 5, she replied to the tweet to clarify what had caused the situation. "It's psoriasis all over my face," she posted alongside a crying Emoji. According to People, Kim's last public acknowledgment of the chronic skin problem, in which skin cells multiply faster than they should causing a rash, came at the end of last year, when she put a call out for medication recommendations. "I think the time has come I start a medication for psoriasis. I've never seen it like this before and I can't even cover it at this point. It's taken over my body," she wrote at the time. She's had luck keeping it under control in the past using light therapy.

From her infamous "conscious uncoupling" with ex-husband Chris Martin to her ex-accompanied honeymoon with Brad Falchuk last year, Gwyneth Paltrow's never been one to go traditional when it comes to her relationships. Maybe that's why her mom, Blythe Danner, doesn't seem particularly concerned with finding out what's up with the newlyweds' housing situation. Gwyneth and Brad tied the knot in September; as of December, they had yet to move in together, apparently because of their respective teenage children. ("We are still doing it in our own way. With teenage kids, you've got to tread lightly," the "Ironman" star told WSJ magazine at the time.) Despite having put a shared home on hold at least initially, the newlyweds are "having a great time" as husband and wife, according to Blythe, who chatted with Us Weekly at the AARP Movies for Grownups Awards on Monday, Feb. 4. Asked for clarification on the couple's housing plan, Blythe "didn't appear to know" if they'd moved in together, according to the magazine. "I'm not sure what they do," said the 76-year-old star. "I think everybody just goes as the wind goes at the moment. I don't know what they're doing."

Tyra Banks set to open Modelland, an attraction, destination and 'movement'
When Tyra Banks announced in December she was leaving "America's Got Talent" to focus on, among other things "a massive project," she would only elaborate by saying it's "something that's never been done before." According to Variety, that "something" is Modelland — although Jezebel makes the valid point that Tyra's interview about Modelland still fails to explain what exactly it is. Originally, Modelland was the "exclusive, mysterious place on top of a mountain" where the "gawky" main character in Tyra's young adult book series, Tookie de la Creme and her "mismatched eyes" ends up competing to be one of seven Intoxibellas. So if you're already confused, well, fair enough. This version of Modelland apparently comes in the form of a ticketed, multi-level "attraction" in Santa Monica that features retail and dining options. "Modelland has been in the works for 10 years. 10 very intense years," Tyra tells Variety at one point. "I've kept it close to my heart and dedicated a lot of energy and time to it — qualitative and quantitative research, think tank sessions, iterations of business plans, potential sites visits, staffing up. With some serious laser-focused tunnel-vision and a hardworking, expert team, Modelland is finally coming to life." Though it sounds like some cross between a mall and a Dave & Buster's to us, Tyra offers this somewhat more elaborate description: "Modelland is going to be a place where the modeling world meets fantasy, meets entertainment, meets technology, meets retail, meets dining, meets … your fiercest best self you could ever imagine. From the beginning, when creating this attraction, I wanted Modelland to go beyond just a place to go to, but to be a place to feel emotion." She goes on to say "Modelland is not just a place … it's a movement," adding, "Yes, it's an attraction and a destination, but above all, it's the genesis for people with all types of different beauty to feel seen and validated." The validation, emotion-having — and shopping and dining — are expected to begin in late 2019.

Kelly Ripa wishes she and Mark Consuelos had 'one more' child
Amid buzz about the arrival of his first child, Benjamin, on Tuesday, Feb. 5, Kelly Ripa opened up about her own kids on, "Live With Kelly and Ryan" admitting she wishes she and Mark Consuelos hadn't stopped at three. "I am regretful that we didn't have more," the 48-year-old told Ryan Seacrest, according to Us Weekly. Among the "many different reasons" why she wishes she had four children, she explained, is the fact that with three, "when they are small … you always have two against one." She also got a bit nostalgic about Michael, 21, Lola, 17, and Joaquin, 15. "But I also just loved having them. I adore them as the grown-ups that they've become … but when they are tiny, they are just so adorable," Kelly recalled. "And they say amazing things, and I miss all of that."

For Elie Tahari's anniversary show Christie Brinkley, who just turned 65, is set to Elie Tahari's anniversary show with her 20-year-old daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, according to Page Six. "The Elie Tahari brand has always been for every woman, and that is why I'm so excited about having Christie and Sailor walk in our show because Christie is timeless, and Sailor represents the cool, on-the-go woman who also wears our clothes," the designer said in a statement. "It is important for me to make clothes for women of all types, inclusive of any age." Fashion Week kicks off Friday, Feb. 8.
Madonna to be honored at 2019 GLAAD Media Awards
This spring, Madonna will be the first woman to accept GLAAD's Advocate for Change Award at the GLAAD Media Awards on May 4. "Madonna always has and always will be the LGBTQ community's greatest ally and it is only fitting to honor and celebrate our biggest advocate at GLAAD's biggest event ever," GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis, told E! News in a statement. "From the HIV crisis to international LGBTQ issues, she fearlessly pushes for a world where LGBTQ people are accepted. Her music and art have been life-saving outlets for LGBTQ people over the years and her affirming words and actions have changed countless hearts and minds." The organization, whose annual awards gala draws dozens of stars, also praised Madge for being vocal and "[demanding] action at a time when AIDS was too often invisible in the media." Bill Clinton was the Advocate for Change Award's first recipient back in 2013.

Fun fact: Kylie Jenner's house contains a purse closet that holds an estimated $500,000-plus worth of high-end bags. She's shown off the "closet" — which by most people's standards is technically a room — on social media before, but Kylie's closet now also appears in Architectural Digest, which included a piece on the makeup guru's Hollywood Hills home in its March "Star Power" issue. Describing the pad as "animated with pop brio and youthful energy," AD lets us in on a slew of details about the decor. Page Six, meanwhile, dishes specifically on the bags, which include a "an entire row" of Hermès bags and another row containing Fendi, Louis Vuitton, and Supreme X LV purses. How Lupita Nyong'o found 'clarity' on a 10-day silent retreat
As the awards continue to pour in for "Black Panther," Lupita Nyong'o is already getting ready to promote her new horror film, Jordan Peele's "Us," due out March 22. Reflecting on her busy past year ahead of her 36th birthday on March 1, the actress says she celebrated last year's birthday by turning inward with a 10-day silent retreat in Texas. "It was a gift. I did it for my birthday," she tells Marie Claire in the magazine's March cover story. " And it was the best gift because, the thing is, my job has two main parts. There's the acting, and there's the celebrity. And the celebrity involves a lot of giving. After talking so much, and just expend, expending, expending, to sit with myself and just listen. Our lives are so full of distractions; you go from one distraction to another." Like anyone else, she finds comfort in those distractions, which made giving up her phone and car and signing a document agreeing to stick it out on the grounds a little nerve-wracking. "I was constantly wanting to leave and then daring myself to take one more hour and another hour. And oh my God, it was crazy and beautiful, because after the 10 days, it wasn't talking that I missed," she recalled. "The heart of the program is about unclutching from attachments to pleasure and aversion, the idea that we attach to things that we love and to things we dislike. And our identities are built on assembling these things to basically write the stories of our lives, but learning to unclutch from that control makes it easier to live, to exist." After the retreat she found that listening to Kendrick Lamar's Pulitzer Prize winning album, "Damn," took on more meaning because she "was able to focus solely on that and for it to fill my existence in that moment" on her flight back to New York City. "It was like clarity. And I was just, like, wow," she said. "I imagine that people sometimes get that from drugs. But it was really nice to get that just from spending time with myself."
Angelina Jolie visits Kutupalong Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh
Angelina Jolie is back in UNHCR special envoy mode this week, visiting the largest refugee settlement in the world as the United Nations works to secure nearly $1 billion to help Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. Since August 2017, the Rohingya people have been pouring into Bangladesh seeking safety from the Myanmar military, which has been accused of committing "brutal" human rights violations against them, according to ABC. "The people responsible for human rights violations must be held accountable for their actions," Angelina said in a speech during the trip, her first to Bangadesh. "While UNHCR is ready to support efforts to improve conditions, there have been very little progress on the ground. The Rohingya cannot return to Myanmar at this time," she added.
Armie Hammer has no regret about blasting those who posted Stan Lee selfies after his death
Sounds like Armie Hammer's problem with all those Stan Lee "selfie" posts he saw after the comic legend's death is about more than just Stan. In the cover story for the new issue of British GQ, the "On the Basis of Sex" star refuses to apologize for his backlash-inducing tweet last fall, saying, "I do not feel badly for the people that I offended who met Stan Lee once and were capitalizing and masking self-promotion as false grief." But he also comments on the prevalence of selfie culture among his millennial peers — something he clearly wants to be distanced from. When the writer questions his position, the 32-year-old concedes — sort of. "… I can't say I am not a millennial, but I'm not a millennial. I don't get it. It doesn't resonate with me," Armie says. "I don't know why millennials will go to a wedding and take a picture of themselves on the dance floor and then post it on social media and be like, 'Congratulations to Sarah and Jeff, so happy for you guys!' Just what the hell is that? That just doesn't make any sense to me."
