Kirstie Alley's tribute to Stephen Hawking is amazing in all the wrong ways
Dismissive much? Tributes and messages of gratitude flooded social media in the wake of celebrated physicist Stephen Hawking's death on Wednesday, March 14, with stars like Eddie Redmayne praising the "beautiful mind" of "an astonishing scientist" and astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson tweeting that the "intellectual vacuum" left by Hawking's passing should be thought of "as a kind of vacuum energy permeating the fabric of spacetime that defies measure." Curling hater, Scientologist and former "Look Who's Talking Now" star Kirstie Alley also had some thoughts about the death of Hawking, whose many awards included the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Fundamental Physics Prize (the so-called "largest prize in all of science"). "You had a good go at it..," she wrote, sharing a photo of Hawking. "Thanks for your input." (Yeah, dude. Way to figure out how black holes lose mass by combining principals from Albert Einstein's theory of relativity and quantum mechanics. Whatever.) Not surprisingly, Twitter users had a few questions and suggestions for Kirstie after she posted the tweet. Among them: "Kirstie, what was your favorite input?"; "Can you even science?" and its follow-up, "Uhh, Scientology. So no, she can't;" and, finally, "this is how you fire a 13-year-old."

If only every #MeToo story ended with a dis straight outta the Boogie Down Bronx. In the new issue of Harper's Bazaar, Jennifer Lopez is asked whether she's experienced sexual harassment on the job. "I haven't been abused in the way some women have," she says. "But have I been told by a director to take off my shirt and show my boobs? Yes, I have. But did I do it? No, I did not." She elaborates (via The Cut): "When I did speak up, I was terrified. I remember my heart beating out of my chest, thinking, 'What did I do? This man is hiring me!' It was one of my first movies. But in my mind I knew the behavior wasn't right. It could have gone either way for me. But I think ultimately the Bronx in me was like, 'Nah, we're not having it.'" What's Zayn Malik going to do about that Gigi Hadid tattoo on his chest?
Speaking of black holes, Zayn Malik might have to double down on his space tattoo art collection now that he's parted ways with Gigi Hadid. The singer recently got a large pair of eyes tattooed on his chest that happened to look exactly like his then-model girlfriend's wide-set, almond-shaped peepers. After he split from ex-fiancee Perrie Edwards, fans noticed he'd covered up the cartoon version of the Little Mix singer he had tattooed on his arm, getting a dark-hued space scene that features a UFO, planets and stars to obscure her image. As the Mirror points out, Zayn has a new conundrum with the huge Gigi tat. "Zayn unfollowed gigi on insta but I'd love to see how he's gonna unfollow that giant tattoo he has of her eyes on his chest," wrote on Instagram user. Another chimed in: "Zayn Malik is the perfect example of not learning from mistakes."

Cardi B's pregnancy won't keep her from Coachella, Bruno Mars tour
A seven-month-old baby bump isn't about to stop Cardi B from performing at Coachella next month. According to TMZ, the rapper, who's widely rumored to be expecting her first child with rapper Offset, spent the last two weeks finishing her album in the studio. She's reportedly due in July and plans to stay on track with her plan to tour with Bruno Mars beginning two months later in September. Last month, TMZ reported she would likely be set back by "hundreds of thousands of dollars" due to her pregnancy, which the website assumed would prevent her from making the Coachella date and tour with Bruno, collaborating with other artists and working on a new film project. Um. Guess not.
Matt Lauer slashes home price by more than $2 mil
Attention, Hamptons shoppers: Matt Lauer has a deal for ya. The former "Today" star, who was fired ignominiously in November amid a storm of sexual misconduct accusations, has lowered the price of his massive, 25-acre property in Sag Harbor, New York — by $2.1 million. The New York Post reports the home is currently selling for $12.75 million after going on the market in 2016 for $18 mil. Matt and his ex, Annette Roque, bought the pad — one of multiple properties the two owned as a couple — in 2004. Prior to his ouster from "Today," NBC reportedly paid the anchor $20 million a year. He was not given a severance package when he was forced out of his longtime post.
Eddie Murphy 'has had no contact' with his daughter
The ongoing court battle between Mel B and her ex, Stephen Belafonte, has invoked Eddie Murphy's name once again. The former Spice Girl's lawyer is currently fighting to keep Stephen from his requested getting stepparent visitation with Mel and Eddie's daughter, Angel. In trying to show the court why Stephen should be allowed in Angel's life, Stephen's attorney has said Eddie "is not interested" in seeing the 10-year-old, according to the Daily Mail. Stephen also told the judge Angel "has called me dad since she started to talk." Stephen's lawyer also reportedly said her attempts to serve papers to Eddie were fruitless. "Mr. Murphy is avoiding service," she said. She also told the court, "Mr Murphy has had no contact with the child."
Corey Feldman pushes for sex abuse victims' rights
Corey Feldman wants young victims of sex abuse to have more time to sue their attackers — and he went to New York's state capital this week to urge lawmakers to support his position. "As someone who was failed by the justice system because of a restrictive statute of limitations, I am proud to stand with so many survivors today to try to pass common-sense legislation," Corey said in Albany, according to the New York Post. He spoke while standing alongside other supporters of the Child Victims Act. The legislation would change a current law that stipulates victims can no longer sue over childhood sex abuse after the age of 23. The new act would give them more time to seek justice, as well as an extra year to get "previously unaddressed claims" to be dealt with in court.
Kylie Jenner has a strict set of rules for Stormi's visitors
The nursery Kylie Jenner set up for her daughter, Stormi, is made of almost entirely organic (and expensive) products, so it should come as no shock that she's pretty serious about keeping the infant safe from the perils of germs. Should you be hoping to hold little Stormi while she works on one of the wooden teethers sourced from Chilean forests and coated in non-toxic bee's wax and cold-pressed flaxseed oil that her mom has at the ready, you better prepare for some rules. A source tells Us Weekly Kylie is only allowing people on a strict guest list to hang with the baby. Also, the insider says Kylie is "a germaphobe," so "you have to go to her house to visit" the little girl. "[Kylie's] being very careful about keeping the baby healthy and indoors," says the source. Kylie and her boyfriend, Travis Scott, welcomed their daughter on Feb. 1.
Jenelle Evans' husband David Eason offers a non-apology for offensive Twitter comments
After Jenelle Evans claimed a series of homophobic tweets attributed to her husband meant nothing since David Eason doesn't "understand … how Twitter works," David is going with a similar ignorance line. In a new interview with TMZ, the recently fired "Teen Mom 2" star was asked if he was sorry for offending members of the LGBQT community by telling a Twitter user, "… why don't you go tell the homo and transgender parents to start teaching their kids better morals? Oh I forgot, that's supposed to be normal." He started out with this: "I don't even know what that means, LGB … but for gay people or whatever? Then yeah. I'm sorry I don't study that. It's not in my life .. to have to worry about something like that." Having sort of gotten a non-apology out of David, the interviewer then asked about David's firing from MTV, which was widely publicized with a statement from the network saying MTV does not condone "personal comments" made by Davis and that "effective immediately," the network was "ending [its] relationship with him." David, however, apparently still believes he and MTV are on good terms. "They never called me and said I was fired," he told TMZ. "They told me, 'Hey, we don't want to film with you for the next three episodes." That takes the show to the end of the season. Neither David norJanelle seem to be contracted for the following season, if there is one.
Joaquin Phoenix buys a house with his sister, Summer Phoenix
Joaquin Phoenix recently stepped up in the big brother category. Following his younger sister, Summer Phoenix's divorce from Casey Affleck, Joaquin co-signed property and loan documents with her for a new house in Los Angeles at the end of last year. The Blast reports the siblings don't plan to live together in what's described as a charming, "tranquil" craftsman home" featuring "lush outdoor space … [a] large covered porch … [a] spacious outdoor kitchen … [and] brand new appliances." It seems Joaquin simply wanted to help out. Summer and Casey split back in 2016. Their divorce was finalized in September with a settlement in which Casey carries a $4,000-a-month burden for child support for their two children. It was revealed last fall that Joaquin had quietly moved in with his girlfriend, Rooney Mara.
