Miley Cyrus opens up about getting sober after a slip

Miley Cyrus is back on the wagon— just in time for her 28th birthday. In an interview with Zane Lowe for the Monday, Nov. 23, edition of "New Music Daily" on Apple Music, the singer reveals she's sober again after a recent period of substance use. "Well, I, like a lot of people, being completely honest, during the pandemic fell off [the wagon] …," she told Zane, adding that she "would never" pretend otherwise. "… I fell off and I realized that I now am back on sobriety, two weeks sober, and I feel like I really accepted that time," Miley continued. She went on to say that when she's stumbled in her sobriety in the past, she takes a "Don't get furious, get curious" approach. "So don't be mad at yourself, but ask yourself, 'What happened?'" she explained. The newly minted 28-year-old revealed back in June that she was 6 months sober, telling Variety she wanted more clarity to "polish up my craft." Speaking to Zane, she said being 27 also factored into her decision to "protect" herself, given that so many other music stars have passed away at that age. She noted the specifics of what goes wrong for her when she indulges in substances. "I think everyone has to do what is best for them," Miley said. "I don't have a problem with drinking. I have a problem with the decisions I make once I go past that level of … Even into, I've just been wanting to wake up 100 percent, 100 percent of the time." She added that she finds it "pretty easy … to be sober or in and out of sobriety" because she's so disciplined. Miley's new album, "Plastic Hearts," is out Friday.

He took the poem he wrote me and made it the song. I keep everything!" Photos of the original card show Kanye had drawn stick figures he labeled "me and kimmy," with "kimmy" wearing Louboutins and carrying a "Berkin" bag alongside a drawing of a sailboat labeled "yaught." The other page featured the poem that became the song's lyrics. "You're my devil, you're my angel," it began. "You're my Heaven, you're my Hell/ You're my now, you're my forever," he raps. "You're my freedom, you're my jail/ You're my lies, you're my truth/ You're my war, you're my truce/ You're my questions, you're my proof." The final line reads, "you're my stress / you're my masseuse." Kanye would later tell MTV in a 2010 interview, "emotionally it just fit the crescendo of everything that I was saying and what I wanted to say to this girl." But Kim's followers weren't sure what to make of it. "I would be so p—– if I got this from a dude I was talking to. I'd throw it back in their face and walk away," wrote one confused fan (via ET). "Ummmm he called you his hell and his jail?" a second asked. Others called out the rapper for misspelling Birkin and yacht. Of course, Kim may have also had questions about being dubbed Kanye's "jail" and his "lies" in 2010 — because she didn't start dating him until 2012.

As J.Lo belted out her new songs, "Pa'Ti" and "Lonely," alongside the Colombian singer-songwriter, critics popped up on social media to accuse her of taking more than just inspiration from Beyoncé's 2014 Grammy Awards performance of "Drunk In Love" with Jay-Z, from her sheer black bodysuit to her wet-look bob to the chair she used as a dance prop. "Nah, Jlo definitely copied the same everything from Beyoncé's Grammy performance….like girl… copied her whole flow," one Beyoncé fan griped on Twitter (via HollywoodLife). Al Roker returns to 'Today' after surgery for prostate cancer

He's back! On Monday, Nov. 23 — two weeks after undergoing a five-hour surgery following his prostate cancer diagnosis — Al Roker returned to the "Today" studio at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. "Great medical care and the love of friends and family — it goes a long way," Al said. When his costars agreed he looked great, he joked he was "hoping I looked a little better" than he did before the procedure. Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Carson Daly and Craig Melvin were just happy to have him back and feeling better, though, with Savannah expressing her thanks for having the whole "Today" crew "all together" again before the holidays. Al remained in good spirits throughout the show, admitting he's been "feeling good" since "that first week you can get that catheter out" and happily telling "all the ladies" about the Kegel exercises he's been doing as part of his recovery. ("Nobody wants to know about that!" Hoda assured her costar.) Al's surgery involved the successful removal of his prostate and multiple lymph-nodes, according to People. He last appeared on the show last Tuesday, where he told fans his recovery was going well.

Alison Brie would love a 'GLOW' movie to 'tie everything up'

Last month, Netflix announced "GLOW" would not be moving forward with its planned fourth and final season due to concerns about the safety of shooting a "physically intimate show" with a "large ensemble cast." So can fans expect a one-off movie finale to wrap things up? Maybe, according to Alison Brie, but probably not anytime soon. In an interview last week with The Playlist's podcast, the actress, who plays Ruth aka Zoya the Destroya on the '80s women's wrestling throwback explained her thinking on why she's not convinced a movie finale will be in the works in the near future. "I certainly think a ['GLOW'] movie could tie everything up," she said. "Our creators, Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, are incredible writers. And they're so devoted to these characters that they created. I think a movie would be a great way to wrap it up." But, she said, great writers and interest from the cast isn't necessarily enough during the pandemic. "I'm a little pessimistic about it actually happening just in light of everything that's gone on this year and how difficult it is to get anything back into production with COVID," Alison explained. "And I'm also part of the 'Community' cast, who's been trying to get a movie going for six years, so what I'm saying is don't hold your breath because if it does happen, it might take a minute." In the meantime, Alison hates to see the show come to an end but takes heart in her pride in what she and her castmates were able to create. "It's definitely a bummer," she said. "I'm going to miss playing with those incredible women and Marc Maron and Chris Lowell. But you know, we're so lucky. We're lucky that we got to make three, to me, perfect seasons of a show. I love it so much and it will live on Netflix forever. So people can still check it out."

As Harvey Weinstein continues to serve his 23-year prison sentence for rape and sexual assault, the authorities at Wende Correctional Facility in upstate New York are monitoring him on video 24/7, according to a new report from TMZ. Citing law enforcement sources, the website reports the former producer is being watched via "regular surveillance cameras" and "eye-level cameras" on the guards who shadow him every day in the interest of avoiding a self-harm situation a la Jeffrey Epstein. The late financier and convicted sex offender was serving time for sex trafficking involving minors when he was found dead in his jail cell in August 2019. Last week, reps for Harvey confirmed Harvey, who contracted COVID-19 in March, was in poor health again, though he's tested negative for the coronavirus, according to Page Six.

Johnny Depp's former co-star, Stephen Dorff, hopes both Johnny and his ex-wife, Amber Heard, get the space they need to heal after details about their stormy marriage were made public again over the summer. It is a very soothing, comforting place for me to go, and he's a very strong, warm, kind man. "And, this is a lonely world, right?" she adds. "That's an extraordinary thing to have found, particularly later in my life. But it saved me, as well, which is a beautiful thing to have." Later in the interview, she recalls having struggled with loneliness herself, pointing out that some call it "the great killer" because of its detrimental effects on a person. "It causes so much pain and I've been lonely, and it is very, very, very hard," Nicole shares. "You see it in older people. You see it in young people. You see it now in this world. We can't even hug anymore," she said, referencing the safety rules around Loneliness is an epidemic. So, I am very fortunate to come home to him. My heart goes out to the people who don't have a person to go to now."
