It's time to look back at the stars who fell in love, broke up or experienced some other major love life drama this month! Wonderwall.com is rounding up all of the big romance stories of August 2019, starting with a sad split. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth shocked fans on Aug. 10 when her rep announced they'd called it quits after less than eight months of marriage. "Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart," her rep said in a statement. The next day, Miley — who was photographed making out with Brody Jenner's ex, Kaitlynn Carter, the same weekend her split made headlines — took to Instagram to allude to the breakup, writing about evolution and the inevitably of change. For his part, Liam was more direct with his followers on Aug. 13, writing in an Instagram post: "Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward." Speculation was rampant as to why they'd broken up, including a report from TMZ alleging that infidelity or drug use played a role. Miley sounded off on Twitter on Aug. 22, denying she'd cheated…

Miley Cyrus moved on quickly after her marriage ended. She was photographed kissing Brody Jenner's ex Kaitlynn Carter on Aug. 9 — one day before she and Liam Hemsworth announced their breakup. Page Six reported on Aug. 11 that, according to a source, the two women have actually been hooking up for "a couple of months" and that their relationship was "no secret" to Brody, who's "totally OK with it." But it might not be so serious, according to People magazine, whose source said the ladies are "just having fun" and that Miley "wasn't introducing Kaitlynn as her girlfriend" and "only called Kaitlynn her friend" during their Italian vacation. But once they got back to Los Angeles, things seemed to heat up. They were spotted making out at Soho House in West Hollywood on Aug. 16 before lunching with Miley's mom the next day, according to Page Six, whose source said that the women seemed "obsessed with each other" and "couldn't keep their hands off each other" during their nighttime hangout at the exclusive hotspot. Next up, more on Kaitlynn's own breakup earlier this month…

News broke that Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter's marriage was over on Aug. 2… but it turns out they were never actually married! TMZ reported that the pair never made their union legal following their big wedding in Indonesia in June 2018. The couple shared a joint statement with E! News that read: "Brody Jenner & Kaitlynn Carter have decided to amicably separate. They love and respect one another, and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward." It comes as no surprise to viewers of "The Hills: New Beginnings," since the show touched on their marital problems. Brody has since been spotted out with model Josie Canseco while Kaitlynn has been growing close to Miley Cyrus.

E! News reported on Aug. 6 that Bella Hadid and The Weeknd have called it quits again. The model and musician have been on-and-off over the last few years, and this time, sources claimed it was distance that contributed to the split: "[They] haven't spent quality time together in months," said E!'s source, adding that the model and the pop star "are in different places right now, physically and mentally" and have also "been arguing a lot recently." The source didn't abandon all hope, though, adding: "They hope to get back together at one point but for now are focusing on themselves and their projects." Another outlet gave a similarly bright outlook on their future status after a source told "Entertainment Tonight" that the pair actually aren't broken up but "are working through things like normal couples do." We're keeping an eye on these two!

"It has been many years of him stepping out with other women," said a source. "He's disrespectful and their lives were different. "Married life has been really good," she said. "We took a year to let everybody [in the family] take it in and let the dust settle. And now we're moving in together this month. I adore my husband. He's brilliant and deeply kind. I feel like he's a real equal too. And he pushes me in the best ways. I really like being married. It's fun."

On an Aug. 21 episode of "The Bellas Podcast," Nikki admitted that she still allows herself to cry over her painful split from the wrestler-actor. As for why they split, Nikki explained: "For John and I, it was just … the timing was off. … I think what I realized is that I want someone … when I spend the rest of my life with someone in marriage, I wanna be with them every night. I want to spend holidays with them. I want to grow with them. I want to know that they really do wanna be a parent."

They ended up texting on BlackBerry Messenger "for like, six months" before meeting up again in Los Angeles. She specified that she'll start with a small ceremony before having a bigger wedding down the road, adding, "I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don't want to do the big wedding now. Things just didn't work out, and he is concentrating on work."
