Baby news!

Just a few days into the New Year, Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden dropped a bombshell — they're parents! On Jan. 3, the couple announced on Instagram that they'd welcomed a baby girl. Their daughter, Raddix Chloe Wildflower, was actually born on Dec. 30, but the couple kept the news under wraps for a few days. Us Weekly reported that Raddix was born via surrogate in Los Angeles. A source told People magazine, "Cameron is so much more settled, stable and happy. It was natural to want a baby." The couple reportedly has no plans to hire any outside help. "She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family," they said in their announcement, adding that they will protect the baby's privacy. "So we won't be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute! Some would even say RAD."

Picture perfect

OMG! It happened! On Jan. 19, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were actually photographed together. The semi-public run-in happened backstage at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where both took home a little hardware. In fact, when Brad won his award for her performance in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," cameras cut to a smiling Jen in the audience. Brad was backstage when Jen won her acting award for "The Morning Show." "Wow!" he exclaimed, watching her on a monitor. The two, who were famously married from 2000 to 2005, have been friendly for years. But are they more than friends? The world, it seems, is hoping that's a yes.

Royal exit

In a move that sent shockwaves throughout the world, Prince Harry and Duchess Megan announced on Jan. 8 that they were essentially quitting the royal family. They issued a statement explaining that they "intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent," though the made it clear they still wanted to continue to represent the queen. Further, the duo, who share son Archie, said they'd split their time between the U.K. and North America. Ten days later, after uncharacteristically rapid negotiations with Queen Elizabeth II and heirs Prince Charles and Prince William, the monarch reluctantly approved what the British media has dubbed "Megxit" — though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were ultimately unable to secure the half-in, half-out arrangement they wanted. Harry and Meghan will keep but no longer use their HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) titles "as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family," a statement explained, also confirming that the couple "understand that they are required to step back from Royal duties, including official military appointments" and "will no longer receive public funds." However, "With The Queen's blessing, the Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations" even though "they can no longer formally represent The Queen." The couple further shared their wish "to repay Sovereign Grant expenditure for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which will remain their U.K. family home." A day later, Harry explained in his first public comments about their formal exit, which will happen in the spring, "The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back, is not one I made lightly." He added in a lengthy speech, "It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven't always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option."

Married again!

Pamela Anderson has said "I do" for the fifth time. On Jan. 20, the former "Baywatch" star married movie mogul Jon Peters, who produced the 1976 and 2018 versions of "A Star is Born" plus dozens of other notable movies including "Caddyshack" and "Rain Man." The pair previously dated 30 years ago. Jon confirmed the nuptials, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but — for 35 years — I've only wanted Pamela. She makes me wild — in a good way. She inspires me. I protect her and treat her the way she deserves to be treated." Pam marked their marriage with a lengthy poem, writing in part, "We love each other without conditions." The following day, Pam's son Brandon Thomas Lee said he was thrilled for his mother.

Parkinson's diagnosis

Ozzy Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease nearly a year ago, he revealed on Jan. 21 on "Good Morning America." Parkinson's is a neurodegenerative disorder and has no cure. Ozzy is planning to undergo immune therapy in Switzerland to help. "I feel better now that I've owned up to the fact that I have a case of Parkinson's," he said. "I just hope they hang on and they're there for me because I need them," he said of his fans. "They're my air."

New "View"

Sixteen months after joining "The View," Abby Huntsman has left and is headed west. On Jan. 13, the former Fox News personality announced plans to exit the daytime show for a senior role in father Jon Huntsman's Utah gubernatorial campaign. Following her surprising announcement, reports claimed the real reason Abby wanted out was because the work environment was "toxic." A source told Page Six, "Abby made an issue [to executives] about the overall environment. She's felt for a while that things had to change." In early January, there were reports that Abby and longtime friend and fellow conservative panelist Meghan McCain were no longer on speaking terms. CNN Business reported that Abby and Meghan's disintegrating relationship was a factor in Abby's decision to leave. On her last episode, Abby said there's no bad blood between her and any of "The View" hosts.

Engaged!

Ring-a-ding! Nikki Bella is engaged to her former "Dancing With the Stars" partner, Artem Chigvintsev. On Jan. 3, the dance pro broke the news on Instagram. "You are the best thing that has ever happened to me," he captioned a series of pictures with Nikki, including one of her engagement ring. "So excited for what's to come I love you more than anything and thank you for saying Yes." The wrestler posted the same pictures to her Instagram while revealing they've actually been secretly engaged for months. "I said yes in France in November!" she revealed. "We have been trying to keep it a secret but really wanted to share our excitement for the New Year!" But that wasn't their only big news in January…

Double pregnancy

Both of the Bella Twins — Nikki Bella and Brie Bella — are pregnant, People magazine announced on Jan. 29. Even crazier? They're due less than two weeks apart. This will be the second child for Brie and her husband, pro wrestler Daniel Bryan, who share 2-year-old daughter Birdie. This will be the first child for Nikki and her new fiancé, "Dancing With the Stars" pro Artem Chigvintsev (pictured).

Band drama

Aerosmith's longtime drummer, Joey Kramer, filed a lawsuit against the band for allegedly freezing him out of big performances at the MusiCares Person of the Year honors on Jan. 24 and the Grammys on Jan. 26. Joey's hope was that a court would put him behind the drums despite the fact that he hasn't performed with the group since last April. "This is not about money. I am being deprived of the opportunity to be recognized along with my peers for our collective, lifetime contributions to the music industry," he said in statement. Joey said the band essentially made him audition for his job after he took a leave of absence (they didn't think his playing was up to par). On Jan. 22, a judge sided with Aerosmith, ruling that the band did not need to let him play the events especially with just days to prepare, agreeing that Joey was probably a little rusty after his lengthy absence. Aerosmith, however, encouraged Joey to attend the events, and Joey did. He took the stage with his bandmates to accept their MusiCares honor, though he awkwardly left the stage before the group performed. Before singer Steven Tyler signed off for the night, he shouted-out his bandmates plus guest performers Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp. "Joe Kramer where are you? We love you, man," Steven said, as reported by USA Today.

Health reveal

Justin Bieber has been battling Lyme disease and chronic mono for the better part of a year, he revealed on Jan. 8. "While a lot of people kept saying justin Bieber looks like s—, on meth etc. they failed to realize I've been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease," he wrote on Instagram, adding that he also "had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my skin, brain function, energy, and overall health." He added, "It's been a rough couple years but getting the right treatment that will help treat this so far incurable disease and I will be back and better than ever." It was actually a big month for Justin. On Jan. 27, the "Yummy" singer debuted a new 10-part documentary on YouTube called "Justin Bieber: Seasons." The documentary is set to detail his health battle while making his first album in four years.

Huge performances

The Demi Lovato comeback is in full swing. On Jan. 14, the pop star announced on Instagram that she would be performing at the Grammy Awards, her first live performance since her near-fatal overdose in 2018. "I told you the next time you'd hear from me I'd be singing," the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer captioned a photo that labeled her as a Grammy performer. (She delivered an incredible and emotional rendition of the ballad "Anyone," which she wrote a few days before her OD, on the Grammys stage on Jan. 26.) The National Football League also announced that Demi will sing the national anthem before Super Bowl LIV at Hard Rock Stadium on Feb. 2. "See you in Miami," she wrote on Instagram on Jan. 16.

Addiction battle

Jessica Simpson is opening up like never before, revealing in her new memoir that she was addicted to alcohol and pills and was sexually abused by a family friend as a child. "I was killing myself with all the drinking and pills," she writes in "Open Book," according to excerpts obtained by People magazine. In fact, her doctor told her that her life was in danger because of her lifestyle. After a Halloween party in 2017, she vowed to get sober and hasn't had a drink since. Jessica, who goes to therapy twice weekly, called sobriety "a continual gift." "Honesty is hard but it's the most rewarding thing we have," she wrote. "And getting to the other side of fear is beautiful." Nothing, it seems, it off limits, as she also touches on her many high-profile romances (including with John Mayer) and failed marriage (to Nick Lachey).

Big personal reveals

Taylor Swift developed an eating disorder years ago after seeing unflattering paparazzi pictures of herself, she reveals in her new Netflix documentary, "Miss Americana," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 23 and hit the streaming service on Jan. 31. "It's only happened a few times, and I'm not in any way proud of it. A picture of me where I feel like I looked like my tummy was too big, or … someone said that I looked pregnant … and that'll just trigger me to just starve a little bit — just stop eating," she said. Her relationship with food, she explained, was "unhealthy." While speaking to Variety about the documentary, she noted that her "relationship with food was exactly the same psychology that I applied to everything else in my life: If I was given a pat on the head, I registered that as good. If I was given a punishment, I registered that as bad." In the documentary, Taylor also revealed that while her mother was battled a cancer recurrence, doctors discovered a brain tumor. "The symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumor is nothing like what we've ever been through with her cancer before," the singer told Variety. "So it's just been a really hard time for us as a family."

Family drama

For the first time since wife Beth Chapman passed away last summer, Duane "Dog The Bounty Hunter" Chapman has been getting close with a woman. His daughter isn't pleased at all. On Jan. 5, Dog posted a Instagram photo with Moon Angell, prompting daughter Lyssa Chapman to comment with vomit emojis. She also accused the woman of previously dating her brother before moving on to widower Dog. After her comments hit the headlines, Dog defended Moon. "Who knows what my future holds, but right now I need her," Dog told Radar Online. "Moon has been a trustworthy and loyal friend to me for over 20 years. She has been with my family through many ups and downs. All my children are grown and gone on their own, there's no one left to help me! Moon is experienced. It's just that. There will never be another Mrs. Dog but that doesn't mean I have to be so sad." On Jan. 28, the plot thickened: The official Twitter account for "The Dr. Oz Show" revealed that while recording the Feb. 3 episode, Dog proposed to Moon. However, sources close to the Chapman clan told media that the proposal wasn't the real deal.

Big Grammys winner

Pop star Billie Eilish made headlines when she took home five of the six Grammys for which she was nominated at the Grammy Awards on Jan. 26 and set a few records in the process. She was already the youngest person to earn nods in all four big categories in the same year — album, record and song of the year plus best new artist — and then she won them all. (She also won best pop vocal album during the pre-telecast portion). At 18, she became the youngest person ever to take home an album of the year Grammy (for "When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?"), besting Taylor Swift, who previously held the record after winning the prize for "Fearless" when she was 20.

Baby No. 3

Music star Ciara and her quarterback husband, Russell Wilson, on Jan. 30 announced that they're expecting child No. 3. Ciara and the Seattle Seahawks star share 2-year-old daughter Sienna Princess. Ciara also has son Future Wilburn with rapper ex Future.

Fight night

A lawsuit is likely to follow Rod Stewart's New Year's Eve fight in Florida. On Jan. 12, Britain's the Sun tabloid reported that a security guard at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, is considering suing Rod after the 74-year-old rocker allegedly assaulted him. The singer was charged with simple battery after allegedly punching the security guard. According to a probable cause affidavit, Rod told police he and his family were trying to get the children in their group into a private event at the hotel. The security guard resisted, telling Rod and his group that they didn't have access to the area and asking them to leave. Around this time, Rod's son Sean Stewart allegedly got "nose to nose" with Jessie. A skirmish ensued; police said Rod then punched the security guard in his rib cage area. Surveillance footage shows that Rod and Sean were the "primary aggressors," according to the affidavit.

Restraining order

Yep, there's more drama with Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and his off-and-on girlfriend Jen Harley. Are you really surprised? On Jan. 11, the "Jersey Shore" star alleged that Jen, the mother of his daughter, assaulted him with an eyeliner tube. He told police he was napping when Jen showed up and accused him of cheating after she found the eyeliner. Jen had left by the time police arrived. A few days later, Ronnie got a restraining order against Jen, which is good through Feb. 25. Why she was at Ronnie's house in the first place isn't known, as the two aren't together. Sources also told TMZ that jen showed up at Ron's house unannounced and uninvited.
