Model Ireland Baldwin — daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger — is named after the Emerald Isle.

Alicia Keys named her oldest son, Egypt Daoud Dean, after the North African country. "I took an important trip for myself to Egypt. There were a lot of things that needed to change. I was not as experienced then, so I felt close to a breakdown," she explained to Complex. "I went to Egypt, and I went alone. I sailed down the Nile and I saw the temples, the tombs and the pyramids. It was powerful. It was very Cleopatra. When we found out I was pregnant, my husband said, 'Egypt was such an important time for you. That really changed your life. Reality TV personality Bristol Palin shares her name with the suburban city of Bristol, Connecticut. Though her mom, politician Sarah Palin, is from Alaska, that distant city wasn't far from her mind when she had her daughter. "I worked at the Bristol Inn and [my husband] Todd grew up in Bristol Bay. But also, Bristol, Connecticut, is the home of ESPN. And when I was in high school, my desire was to be a sportscaster," Sarah told Esquire of what inspired her daughter's name.

Kim Kardashian West might have a very traditional name herself, but she named her youngest daughter after the city where her hubby, Kanye West, grew up: Chicago. "That is a place that made him and a place that he remembers his family from," Kim explained on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." She also thought it was something "cool and different."

"American Horror Story" actor Cheyenne Jackson shares a name with the capital of his home state: Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Gwen Stefani named two of her sons after locations! Her second son, Zuma Rossdale, was named after Zuma Beach, California, a location "really close to where we live," Gwen told People. Her oldest son, Kingston Rossdale, is named after the capital of Jamaica. "You know, we had that name… when No Doubt went to Jamaica to do the 'Rock Steady' album," Gwen told People. "I said to Gavin, 'Wouldn't that be cool if we named our kid Kingston?' and he was all, 'Shh, don't tell anyone the name! It's our secret name!'"

Reese Witherspoon named her youngest son, Tennessee Toth, after the state where she grew up. The moniker is a perfect fit considering how proud Reese is of her Southern roots. "My Southern upbringing has been real beneficial to me in this industry: being conscientious about people's feelings, being polite, being responsible and never taking for granted what you have in your life," she told USA Today.

"Jurassic World" actress Bryce Dallas Howard shares her middle name with the third-most populous city in Texas: Dallas. Why? Dad Ron Howard and mom Cheryl gave their kids middle names based on where they were conceived. "It's so disgusting!" Bryce once told ABC News.

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kenya Moore was named after the lush East African country of Kenya.

Michael Jackson's only daughter, Paris Jackson, was named after the City of Light: Paris, France.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" franchise actress Dakota Johnson shares a name with the Midwest states of North Dakota and South Dakota.

"The Good Wife" actor Dallas Roberts was born and raised in Houston, Texas, but shares a name with another Texas city: Dallas.

Brooklyn Beckham's famous parents, Victoria Beckham and David Beckham, decided to name him after the NYC borough. "I had always liked the name Brooke and then we suddenly thought about Brooklyn. I'd always liked it as a place — it's very multi-cultural, very grounded," Victoria wrote in her autobiography, "Learning to Fly." "Grace and Frankie" actress Brooklyn Decker was named after New York City's most populous borough: Brooklyn.

There's long been speculation that Ashlee Simpson and her ex-hubby, Pete Wentz, named their son, Bronx Wentz, after the NYC borough. "We came up with the idea Bronx. We've been throwing [ideas] back and forth a while," Pete told Ryan Seacrest during a radio interview without directly confirming it. "It's kind of cool to just leave the narrative what it is."
