Karlie Kloss was too tall to go pro so instead she applied her ballet training to modeling when she was discovered by scouts at 13 while walking in a local St. Louis charity fashion show. Two years later, was signed to Elite and making her catwalk debut for Calvin Klein. The same season she also strutted for Alexander McQueen, Valentino and Gucci. Her first Teen Vogue cover was booked in 2008 and she became a regular in grown-up Vogue the next year. She has been the face for Marc Jacobs and Bulgari fragrances, campaigns for Oscar De La Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Coach and Dior, and landed a new gig with L'Oreal Paris makeup in 2015. Six months after high school graduation, Kloss made her debut with Victoria's Secret. She's described as charming, is godmother to fellow model Jourdan Dunn's son and hands out homemade Karlie's Kookies at shows to benefit the FEED charity. The Taylor Swift confidante gave up her Angel gig with VS in early 2015. Many say this was due to her deepening relationship with venture capitalist/Kushner Properties scion Joshua Kushner while other sources say her contract was up and she wanted to devote that time and energy to education. She is starting classes at NYU in the fall.
