Not bad for a ginger who used to be teased with the moniker "Freckleface Strawberry" and got her start in soaps. After being raised around the world — she completed high school in Germany — thanks to her father's military service, Julianne Moore graduated from Boston University's School of Performing Arts in 1983 and then headed to the Big Apple to pursue acting.
