Kendall Jenner could be dating another basketball player
Has Kendall Jenner moved on from the Philadelphia 76ers' Ben Simmons with another young NBA star? That's what outlets like TMZ were wondering after the model was spotted on a yacht off the coast of Malibu with the 23-year-old Los Angeles Laker on the Fourth of July. Following their boat ride, the pair headed to a house party together before Kendall made her way to a Bootsy Bellows popup bash where — woops — she briefly ran into Ben, whom she reportedly split from back in May. Kyle, a Michigan native, signed on with the Lakers back in 2017 and was recently added to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, according to InStyle.

Celebs celebrate the U.S. women's national soccer team World Cup win
Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan and the rest of the U.S. women's national soccer team snagged another FIFA Women's World Cup victory on Sunday, July 7, making them world champions for the second year in a row. Like some of the more controversial moments of their 2019 World Cup run, their win earned the attention of plenty of A-list fans back in the States. "The US women's soccer team are the world champions! I'm so happy. These women are the best of what our country represents," Ellen DeGeneres posted on social media on Sunday (via People). "You're welcome on my show any time. My World Cup runneth over." Other celebs voiced calls for equal pay for the women's team in their congratulatory posts after the Wall Street Journal reported that between 2016-2018, the women's soccer team's games earned almost $1 million more in revenue then games played by the men's team, yet the women's 2019 team earned $30 million in prize money while their male counterparts earned $400 million. "YAAAAASSSS!!! GO!! @USWNT #WARRIORS #PAYUSDAMNIT," posted Leslie Jones. Regina King shared a similar demand, tweeting, "Congrats to the elite @USWNT on winning your FOURTH World Cup!!! Consistently bringing home the win but not the check. Bittersweet. #USWNT #equalpay." Michelle Obama and Barack Obama took time to commend the athletes as well, with Muichelle tweeeting "So proud of you, Team USA—you inspire us all!" and Barack sharing, "Yes! Fourth star. Back to back. Congrats to the record breakers on the @USWNT, an incredible team that's always pushing themselves – and the rest of us- to be even better. Love this team."
Anderson Cooper likely to inherit under $1.5M from his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt
When Gloria Vanderbilt died at age 95 on June 17, she left her co-op in New York City to her eldest son, Leopold "Stan" Stokowski, and "all the rest" of her estate to her younger son, Anderson Cooper, according to an excerpt from her will published by Page Six. Given that she was born with a trust fund that would have been worth $35 million today and helmed an eponymous fashion line that was once valued at $100 million, it seemed as if initial the CNN host was on track to inherit up to $200 million. Turns out that number is significantly smaller. Page Six reports probate documents indicate what's left of the estate — which will go to Anderson — will be less than $1.5 million, putting the inheritance on par with the value of the home Anderson's brother was left. According to the tab, Gloria maintained a habit of spending "lavishly on philanthropic and personal pursuits" even after her company stopped bringing in bucks. She also once sued her attorney and psychiatrist for stealing millions from her and allegedly selling her business interests without her permission and had to sell two real estate properties in the '90s to cover the cost of back taxes. "My mom's made clear to me that there's no trust fund. There's none of that," Anderson told Howard Stern in 2014. "I don't believe in inheriting money … I think it's a curse … From the time I was growing up, if I felt like there was some pot of gold waiting for me, I don't know if I would have been so motivated."
Katharine McPhee asks Instagram followers to rate David Foster's 'Instagram husband skills'
Less than two weeks after marrying Katharine McPhee, David Foster's already nailing his "Instagram husband" game. That seemed to be the consensus from Katharine's Instagram followers on Sunday, July 7, after the singer posted a gorgeous photo of herself posing before a sunset in Capri, Italy, where the couple have been enjoying their honeymoon. "Rate @davidfoster's Instagram husband skills from 1-10 in the comments section," Katharine, 35, captioned the shot. "He's way better than Harry Hamlin. Just sayin," joked Lisa Rinna in the comments. The 69-year-old producer's daughter, Erin Foster, chimed in, too, asserting that her dad is "killing it" on the IG. David and Katharine's wedding celebration has essentially been an extended European vacation, with pre-ceremony hangs in Mykonos, Greece, and Lake Como, Italy, according to People. The wedding itself took place on Friday, June 28, at London's Church of Saint Yeghiche. Guests included celebs Rodger Federer, David's daughters, Erin and Sara Foster, and Katharine's friend (and wedding dress designer), Zac Posen.
Sarah Jessica Parker recalls 'powerful' male star acting 'inappropriately' towards her at work
Add Sarah Jessica Parker to the seemingly exponential list of female stars who have been made to feel uncomfortable by powerful men behaving in an inappropriately sexualized manner on set. The "Sex and the City" alum opened up about her experience during a conversation with Terry Gross about gender equality and the #MeToo movement on NPR's "Fresh Air" last week. "It really wasn't, I would say, until about six or eight months ago that I started recognizing countless experiences of men behaving poorly, inappropriately — and all the ways that I had made it possible to keep coming to work, or to remain on set, or to simply, as I've described it, just push it down, push it away, find a little space for it and move on," SJP said, according to the Daily Mail. "I think no matter how evolved or how modern I thought I was … I didn't feel entirely in a position — no matter what my role was on set — I didn't feel as powerful as the man who was behaving inappropriately. It strikes me as just stunning to say out loud, because there were plenty of occasions where it was happening and I was in a different position and I was as powerful," she continued. Though she didn't name names or divulge what she was working on when it happened, she added that in one such situation, her rep bought her a one-way ticket out of the city where the production was filming and told the producers she'd be using it — and not coming back — if the man's behavior continued. "I didn't have to listen to jokes about me or my figure or what people thought they could talk me into doing – you know, all these men … That stopped," she recalled. "He was baked, meaning his personality; it was cooked. And he was a formed person, and that wasn't going to change. But I felt certainly better and safer, like I could finish what I had agreed to do."
Kristin Davis tears up while reflecting on the racism her children face
As a white mother of two black children, Kristin Davis has struggled to understand the daily challenges of racism faced by people of color around the world. "It's one thing to watch it happening to other people, but another to watch it happening to your child," she told Jada Pinkett Smith on the Monday, July 8 edition of "Red Table Talk." It's a big issue and I think about it every day and every night." Kristin grew tearful as she recalled examples of the behavior she encountered after adopting her daughter Gemma, now 7, as a baby. "When I was holding her in my arms, people would say to me, 'Won't she be a great basketball player?' I would just have to be like … 'This is a baby. How could you say that without just being mortified?'" the actress asked (via Us Weekly). She said the "next big turning point" came at a playground with Gemma. "This one girl in particular would stop swinging, would hold the swing, would call to another white girl across the yard and say, 'I'm holding the swing for you.' I'd just be like, 'What the f—? What about my child?'" she said. "I don't know how every person of color has gotten through this. I don't understand how you could take this every day." She added that because she "will never be black no matter how hard I try" and "will never be able to say to Gemma: 'I understand because this is what happened to me,'" the single mom, who adopted a son last May as well, said she's "on a mission" to expose her children to black communities and culture and to keep asking questions about talking to kids about issues like police brutality. "I don't want to miss something or under the crazy white privilege assumption that everything is going to be fine," she said. "We have to deal with reality and we have to prepare them."
Stevie Wonder announces he'll undergo kidney surgery in September
After a recent Detroit Free Press report claimed Stevie Wonder was "battling a serious but manageable health issue," the singer has confirmed he's slated to undergo kidney surgery this fall. Speaking to an audience at Hyde Park in London over the weekend, the singer told fans, "I'm going to have a kidney transplant in September of this year. I'm all good, I'm all good, I'm all good. I have a donor, it's all good," according to Rolling Stone. "I want you to know I came here to give you my love and to thank you for your love," he added. "
Ariana Grande thanks fans for 'accepting' her 'humanness' after breaking down in tears onstage
Ariana Grande is still sorting through what led her to break down in tears while singing "R.E.M." at her show in St. Louis over the weekend. In a tweet that Page Six reports has since been deleted, the singer wrote, "tour is wild. Life is wild," before delving into her gratitude for her fans and the people she works with — and the challenges she's faced recently and how those things impact her emotions onstage. "I'm grateful for the sea of love i have around me everyday and for the people who come to these shows and give all of us every ounce of energy they've got," she began. "I'm grateful to work with the best musicians and dancers in the world. i'm grateful for my voice and my team. i'm grateful for this music. i'm grateful for my tour bus driver, Kurt who bought me pickles yesterday because he saw we ran out." She went on to call the support she gets from fans a grounding force. "i'm grateful for the opportunity to sing to thousands of people every night," she continued. "it's a dream come true. no matter how hard it gets or how many feelings come up that are screaming at me to be processed and sorted through one day, i'm grounded by gratitude and promise not to give up on what i've started." Finally, she seemed to reference her high-profile breakup from Pete Davidson, the death of her ex, Mac Miller and the terrorist attack outside her show in Manchester in 2017. "I feel everything very intensely and have committed to doing this tour during a time in my life when i'm still processing a lot … so sometimes i cry a lot!" she wrote. "I thank you for accepting my humanness. i'm not sure what i did to deserve to meet so many loving souls every night / to feel so much love, but i want you to know that it really does carry me through. i feel it and appreciate it. and all of you show much."
Ian McKellen celebrates Pride 2019 in London
"Lord of the Rings" star Sir Ian McKellen joined Sam Smith and other celebs over the weekend as an estimated 1.5 million people took to the streets of central London on Saturday, July 6, to celebrate Pride, according to the Guardian. Ian, who came out as gay in 1988 and has since worked with multiple LGBT social movements, recently joined forces with the LGBT Foundation to launch a campaign to ensure LGBTQ+ residents of Manchester over age 50 get adequate housing and other social services care in the region. "No one is born with prejudice, it's something you learn," he said last month at an event announcing the program, according to Gay Star News. "Growing up, even in Lancashire, what is now Greater Manchester, 70 years ago, it was a total silence … There was no mention of sexuality other than heterosexuality at school, on the radio, in church. Absolute silence. So is it any wonder that people who are older, when things are hazy, they may think back to a time when things were different?" The 80-year-old actor added that, "Waving the banner for full and total equality, and love, is something that has my total support."
