It seems like every day, another celebrity says "I do" — save for the select few Hollywood stars who've avoided marriage like the plague. Join Wonderwall.com as we take a look at the most famous singletons who might never wear a wedding ring, starting with this actor… Former "Mad Man" star Jon Hamm doesn't see himself as the marrying kind. Although the gorgeous and talented Emmy winner was in a serious relationship for nearly 20 years with actress Jennifer Westfeldt, neither had intentions of marrying one another prior to their 2015 split, with Jon telling Parade in 2010, "I don't have the marriage chip, and neither of us have the greatest examples of marriage in our families. Although media mogul Oprah Winfrey has been in a rock-solid relationship with businessman Stedman Graham for more than three decades, she has no plans to marry him. Her decision to remain legally single and not have children was a personal one driven by her realization that she could not give a family what they needed and be one of the most powerful women in Hollywood. In 2019, Oprah sat down with People magazine and explained her choice, saying, "I realized, whoa, I'm talking to a lot of messed-up people and they are messed up because they had mothers and fathers who were not aware of how serious that job is… I used to think about this all the time, that I was working these 17-hour days, and so were my producers, and then I go home and I have my two dogs and I have Stedman, who's letting me be who I need to be in the world. He's never demanding anything from me like, 'Where's my breakfast? Where's my dinner?' Never any of that, which I believed would have changed had we married."

Of never marrying, actress and mom of two Diane Keaton joked in a 2014 interview with People magazine, "I really wish I had bought myself a man!" The Oscar-winning star of films like "Annie Hall" later explained her decision to remain unmarried, saying, "I think I was not practical. I had some insane idea that I had to be 'in love.' Now I see what it really takes: real consideration that you're a good team together."
Acting legend Al Pacino spent much of his Hollywood career moonlighting as a notorious ladies' man, dating many high-profile women — including actress Beverly D'Angelo and acting teacher Jan Tarrant, both of whom gave birth to his children — but marriage was never on his radar. One of his famous exes, actress Diane Keaton, shared that she wishes she would have married Al, but knows it wouldn't have worked out, telling People magazine, "I don't think he was really that interested. And I don't think a long-term happy marriage would be easy for him."
"Stranger Things" actress Winona Ryder has never married, unless you count her character's 1992 wedding to Keanu Reeves in the movie "Dracula" which — according to Winona — was totally real. Movie marriages aside, Winona's desire to remain single stems from her fear that she'd also have to endure a divorce. Thankfully, that doesn't mean Winona isn't open to love. She's been dating fashion designer Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011.
TV personality Bill Maher, who hosted "Politically Incorrect" and "Real Time with Bill Maher," has never been a married man. "I've tried to have relationships, I've been in love… but I never understood how you can be with the same person just day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, i just don't get that," Bill told pal Howard Stern in a 2019 interview.
Stunning "Spider-Man" and "Avengers" actress Marisa Tomei — who won an Oscar in 1993 for her breakthrough role in the comedy "My Cousin Vinny" — isn't interested in marriage or motherhood. Back in 2009, Marisa told Manhattan Magazine, "I'm not that big a fan of marriage as an institution, and I don't know why women need to have children to be seen as complete human beings." A source close to the actress reaffirmed her desire to remain single, telling Closer Weekly, "It wasn't something she ever truly pursued… Work has been her life force."
After spending decades as one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors, actor John Cusack has made it a point to live — and love — on his terms. The single star of films like "Say Anything" and "Hot Tub Time Machine" — who has dated many famous women over the years, including Neve Campbell and Meg Ryan — was once asked in 2009 during an interview with ELLE why he never married. His reply was simple: "Society doesn't tell me what to do."
Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has been in the spotlight since the '80s and has had her fair share of celebrity romances. She dated Australian actor Jason Donovan for five years in the late '80s, was linked to Lenny Kravitz and Jean-Claude Van Damme in the early '90s and was famously attached to Olivier Martinez from 2003 until 2007. In 2018, the year after she split from actor fiancé Joshua Sasse, she spoke to Red magazine about marriage. "I never thought I would get married. Just going through 'being engaged' seems like an experiment, because I'd never, as a girl or in all my life, had a vision of getting married," she said. It's not something I needed or wanted. My parents never brought me up with the idea of 'the big marriage.' I never had it as a goal… I don't think marriage is for me." But that doesn't mean she's not open to love: Kylie has been in a relationship with British GQ creative director Paul Solomons since 2018 and in 2019 told The Daily Mail he was her "true love."
Oscar-nominated eternal bachelor Owen Wilson is notoriously private about his romantic life, but despite keeping his lips sealed, we know he's dated many A-list celebrities, including Sheryl Crow and Kate Hudson. Owen's also been embroiled in several romantic scandals, including having a baby with his personal trainer, Caroline Lindqvist, in 2014 when she was still married to someone else. In 2018, Owen and ex-girlfriend Varunie Vongsvirates welcomed a daughter, whom she's claimed Owen had yet to meet as of late 2019. In 2019, Owen was spotted kissing Caroline again, leading us to believe they're back together. While it's impossible to know for sure, Owen's got a track record of loving and leaving, so we don't expect to see a marriage announcement any time soon.
Just because Grammy-winning music star Sheryl Crow has never married doesn't mean she isn't open to the idea. In a 2019 interview with People magazine, the mother of two — who's famously dated stars including Lance Armstrong and Owen Wilson and was even engaged three times — opened up about her love life, saying, "I'm not dating right now, but I tell all my friends, 'Set me up!' They're like, 'We don't know anybody good enough,' and I keep saying, 'Lower your standards!'"
British comedian, writer, producer and actor Ricky Gervais definitely has a life partner, just not a legally binding contract saying so. The "After Life" star has been happily devoted to his college sweetheart, author Jane Fallon, since 1982. The couple decided not to have children and also not to marry. In 2014, Ricky joked with late night host David Letterman about their decision, saying, "I don't think there's any point to us getting married. We don't want any more toasters, we never want our families to meet, that'd be terrible."
Actress and comedienne Sarah Silverman made it clear in 2014 that marriage was off the table for her, indefinitely. The "I Love You, America" host — who's famously dated Jimmy Kimmel and Michael Sheen — tweeted in September that year, "Just read that I wanna get married which is hilarious b/c I will never get married. Why would I want the govt involved in my love life? Ew. It's barbaric."
"America's Got Talent" creator and judge Simon Cowell has had many relationships in his life — and even got engaged a few times — but he's never married. Since 2013, the British music mogul-turned-"American Idol" judge has been in a committed relationship with Lauren Silverman, with whom he has a son, Eric. While Simon's feelings could have changed since Lauren came into his life, he told the Mirror in 2008, "I don't believe in marriage," adding, "certainly not in this business."
Though Drew Carey has proposed to two women over the years — Nicole Jaracz and Amie Harwick — he's never reached the altar. The "The Price is Right" host's engagements to both women ended and he remains a single man.
One of our favorite TV moms, Lauren Graham, who played Lorelai Gilmore on "Gilmore Girls," is a single lady. Though she's been in a relationship with fellow actor (and "Parenthood" co-star) Peter Krause for nearly a decade, the two have no plans to get hitched.
In a 2016 interview with E! News, Oscar-winning actress Allison Janney gushed about her very hot and much younger boyfriend, Philip Joncas, saying they'd been together "about a year." However, when asked if there were any wedding rings in their future, Allison was quick to say "No," adding, "I don't believe in that as an institution."
Actress Dana Delany, best known for her work on the TV show "China Beach" and in films like "Tombstone" and "Wide Awake," has never found the right guy to settle down with — not that it's ever been a priority. In 2008, she recounted to MailOnline how she remembers telling her mom as a teen, "'I'm never going to have kids.' She said, 'Oh, you'll change your mind,' but I never did." Dana — who's now in her 60s and has been linked to Don Henley, Treat Williams and James Woods in the past — added, "I've had proposals, but I like being single so much that somebody would have to be special to make me marry him… Marriage never seemed that important to me, which I think was part of growing up in the '70s."
Despite tabloids printing otherwise, Oscar winner Benicio del Toro has never actually been married. His highly publicized relationship with Kimberly Stewart — singer Rod Stewart's daughter — and the birth of their daughter, Delilah, in 2011, led many to assume Benicio might settle down, but the pair split before their daughter was even born.
British actress Jacqueline Bisset has had several public romances over the decades but has opted to never marry. "I've been in seven-year relationships three times and one 14-year relationship," she told The Independent in 2014. "It's funny how it's always seven. Sometimes you get too much information when you spend time with people. You start to see things — bad habits. You start to discover them and then you have to marry bad habits and I'm not sure I can cope with them." Despite her independence and reluctance to marry, she insisted, "I don't ever have bad relationships."
Now in his 60s, Tim Robbins has been acting since the '80s. Though he had a famously long-term relationship with Susan Sarandon, with whom he shares two adult sons, he's never ended up marrying to this day.
Notoriously private "Family Guy" creator and voice actor Seth MacFarlane hasn't been the most forthcoming about his romantic life, but he did tell Parade, "I'm wide open to getting married, but actors are not easy people to date. You end up sharing that person with this other mistress that is their career. I very much like the traditional courtship method of making a date. That's what they do in normal places, but Hollywood's not normal." The entertainer — who moonlights as a jazz singer — has been romantically linked to several famous ladies over the years including Charlize Theron, Emilia Clarke and Eliza Dushku.
Broadway, stage and small screen star Mary-Louise Parker has been close to marriage but never actually made it down the aisle. In 2003, when she was seven months pregnant, her boyfriend of nearly eight years, actor Billy Crudup, infamously left her high and dry after falling in love with his "Stage Beauty" co-star Claire Danes. Later, Mary found love again and even got engaged to actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, but that eventually ended too. In a touching 2015 interview with The New York Times, Mary talked about her late father's devotion to her mother and how his example might have spoiled her for future relationships, saying, "Maybe a psychiatrist would say I'm not married now because I have some sort of father thing? But you know what?" she joked, "That would be the least of my problems."
He's been in several high-profile romantic relationships, but Billy Crudup's never made it to the altar. He's dated actresses Jennifer Connelly, Mary Louise-Parker, Claire Danes and, most recently, Naomi Watts — who played his wife on the Netflix series "Gypsy" — but though the actor has never struggled to find love, he hasn't had the best track record when it comes to keeping it.
"The Sopranos" and "Nurse Jackie" star Edie Falco isn't married and doesn't believe she needs it to feel love in her life. In a 2010 interview with The Daily Beast, Edie talked about how her parents' divorce impacted her and how she never wanted to bring unhappiness or conflict into her children's lives, saying, "…in general I don't see a lot of marriages that look appealing to me… Why would I want to head there? I want love in my life, no question about that. But I have a ton of it. My own kids have seen nothing but love and compassion…"
Lucy Liu, who starred on popular TV series like "Ally McBeal" and "Elementary," has never married. The star, who welcomed a son in 2015 via gestational surrogate, has had a few public romances but has never decided to tie the knot.
Did you know Matthew Perry has never married of close to it? Despite being linked to stars like Yasmine Bleeth, Julia Roberts, Heather Graham and Meg Ryan for a time, the "Friends" alum as never gotten down on one knee. He dated Lizzy Caplan for six years from 2006 until 2012 and has been linked to talent manager Molly Hurwitz since 2019, though there's no talk of marriage yet for the seemingly confirmed bachelor.
Former "Sex and the City" star Kristin Davis was known for playing a character obsessed with all things bridal. Ironically, the actress herself never had the desire to walk down the aisle. While she's open to relationships, her time is divided between filming, raising her two adopted children and working to save elephants — a cause she's been incredibly passionate about for years and that was featured in her 2019 Netflix Christmas movie "Holiday in the Wild." In 2013, Kristin spoke to Haute Living about being single, saying, "I don't know that I necessarily totally intended to [still be single], though I do remember being young and thinking, 'Why are all these people getting married?' But I'm an actress. I've never exactly been the status quo."
"Avengers" star Chris Evans might never marry simply because he likes being alone more often than not. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in March 2019, Chris — who was previously linked to comedienne Jenny Slate between 2016 and 2018 and also famously dated Jessica Biel and Minka Kelly for years — explained his need for freedom, saying, "I'm the one who fears being enveloped… I was always a really autonomous guy my whole life. Camping by myself is one of my favorite things. I really like to be with someone who also has their own thing to do as well, you know? If I'm with someone who just kind of adopts my life, that can feel a bit suffocating."
It's refreshing to know that while Charlize Theron could easily have any partner she wanted — hello, she's gorgeous and incredibly talented — she's made the choice to remain single. In a 2019 interview with Glamour, Charlize opened up about her incredibly personal realization, saying, "I never wanted to get married. Those are things that are not hard for me, because they're innately my truth." The single mom of two previously dated actor Stuart Townsend for years and was once engaged to Sean Penn.
Known for speaking candidly to the press — like when he told Playboy his former girlfriend Jessica Simpson was "like crack cocaine…like sexual napalm" — and writing songs that share intimate details of his love life, John Mayer's developed a reputation as a loose-lipped lady's man — and that might be the reason he hasn't found a forever love yet. Things may be changing, however, as John's worked on his personal growth, telling Billboard, "I can tell you for sure that I haven't been a d— in many years. That's a really outdated take." John is also open to the idea of marriage and the effect it will have on his social media accounts, saying, "I have a feeling when I get married, my Instagram Stories content will really just disappear completely because instead I'll have somebody to tap on the shoulder and go, 'Hey, I had a dream last night about this…'"
After dating several beautiful women in Hollywood including Scarlett Johansson and Cameron Diaz, Jared Leto doesn't seem to be any closer to getting hitched. The Oscar-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman spoke with Rolling Stone in 2016 and, when asked why he was still single, responded, "It's just how things are. I don't think there's a definitive decision that I've made." He also claimed he knows "absolutely nothing about women."
She's the only Kardashian sister who's never married, but friends say Kourtney Kardashian has always dreamed of walking down the aisle. A source close to the reality TV star shared with Hollywood Life in 2019 that Kourtney would love to be married but feels it "might be impossible" given her family's high-profile status and constant press coverage. "It takes quite the guy to cut through all that relationship red tape," the source said. "She thought it was going to be Scott [Disick, with whom she has three kids] and that didn't happen so she doesn't have much hope that it will even though she would love to have her own fairy tale wedding."
Actor Matt Dillon rose to fame in the '80s and, despite being a heartthrob for decades, has managed to never take a walk down the aisle. Now in his 50s, he has plenty of high-profile relationships behind him — including with Cameron Diaz, Heather Graham and Brooke Shields. He's reportedly been dating Roberta Mastromichele since 2015 and though there were engagement rumors in 2017, the two don't seem to have tied the knot yet.
Jeremy Piven has publicly dated numerous women over the years, but the former "Entourage" star has never said "I do." The actor also has no children.
