Travis Scott sends ex Kylie Jenner some birthday love
Don't worry, Travis Scott did not forget Kylie Jenner's birthday. After the rapper's seeming absence from birthday tributes to Kylie when she turned 23 on Monday, Aug. 10, Travis shared photos on his Instagram Story Tuesday in honor of his ex's milestone. The pics featured a smiling Kylie wrapping an arm around their daughter, Stormi, as the 2-year-old played a game on someone's phone. In between them, Travis added a birthday cake Emoji complete with lit candles, according to the Daily Mail. Travis and Kylie dated from 2017 until the fall of last year, but have remained close as they share parenting duties for Stormi. While rumors have suggested they rekindled their romance multiple times, they've never confirmed anything. "I love [Stormi's] mommy and I always will," Travis told XXL magazine at the end of 2019. "The hard part about relationships is just trying to be in one without a million outside voices interfering." As a thank-you to her well wishers on Monday, Kylie shared a photo of herself holding Stormi in front of a cake. "23!!!!" she wrote on the post. "Thank you God for another year. The blessings and the lessons.. i'm here for it all and so thankful for each and every one of you."

From her stance on the upcoming election to her refusal to be a victim of cancel culture, Cardi B has no problem speaking her mind on most topics. Opening up about her marriage to Offset, though, is harder, she admits in Elle's September cover story. "I don't really like talking about love much, but I feel like I have to do it, just because I want people to know a little bit," she explains. "There's always rumors about me and my husband, and I feel like people would rather start rumors because they want me to be heartbroken. They want me to be hurt." Offset and Cardi briefly split amid rumors he'd cheated. Later, after Offset edged his way into her spotlight to ask her to come back to him, Cardi was trolled — in some cases, by her own fans — for reconciling with him. "I do know that my relationship has a lot of drama and everything. But there's a lot of love there's a lot of passion, there's a lot of trust, there's a big friendship. It's always us against the world," she explains. And that's as much as she'll say on the matter. Instead, she says her next album features a track with Offset that's inspired by their love. "If you all are so curious to know about my relationship and blah, blah, blah, I'm going to put it in the … music," she tells Elle. "And you can buy it, too," she adds. "I'm not going to give it to you all for free." Before the interview ends, she says there's one more thing she's never going to do. "Ain't no way that I'm going to quit," she says. Even if "people make up lies about me every single day," Cardi adds, "I want to make it really clear that nobody can ever make me quit."

At one point in their conversation about what inspires new music and how they've spent their time during the pandemic, Dua casually asked how Gwen's enjoyed being in Oklahoma with her "husband," Blake Shelton. Though they've been dating since 2015 — and have faced plenty of engagement rumors since then — Gwen and Blake are not, in fact, married. "Well, he's not my husband," Gwen replied, "… but that sounded cool when you said it!" Back in June, Us Weekly quoted an anonymous source as saying Gwen and Blake planned to say "I do" after the pandemic.

Hollywood Democrats joined a chorus of Americans in applauding Joe Biden's running mate pick on Tuesday. "I have the great honor to announce that I've picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country's finest public servants — as my running mate," the former V.P. tweeted. "Back when Kamala was Attorney General, she worked closely with Beau. I watched as they took on the big banks, lifted up working people, and protected women and kids from abuse. I was proud then, and I'm proud now to have her as my partner in this campaign," he added. John Legend was one of the first celebs to cheer the decision, posting, "Very happy for our friend and Senator and future Vice-President, @KamalaHarris, and very much looking forward to voting for the Biden-Harris ticket to begin the difficult work of recovering from this nightmare presidency and building an even better future." Robert Pattinson lied about a 'family emergency' to audition for 'The Batman'
Director Christopher Nolan is famously secretive about his forthcoming projects. That includes his hotly anticipated new spy movie, "Tenet," whose star, Robert Pattinson, learned the hard way that you don't beat a master at his own game. In a new interview with the Irish Times, Rob recalls being invited to audition for "The Batman," which he was supposed to keep on the DL, since he was already working on "Tenet" at the time. "It's funny because Chris is so secretive about everything to do with his movies. And then I had to be really secretive about Batman stuff," Rob shared. "So I had to lie to Chris about having to go for a screen test — I said I had a family emergency." It didn't go over too well. Rob continued: "And as soon as I said 'it's a family emergency,' [Chris] said: 'You're doing 'The Batman' addition, aren't you?'" Rob ended up landing the role, though he put his cape back in the closet for a spell in February, when production was shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic. "The Batman" is now slated for an Oct. 1, 2021 release. "Tenet" is due out Sept. 3.
Lady Gaga reveals her new song, '911,' is about psychiatric medication
As Lady Gaga's new Apple Music series, GagaRadio, builds steam, comments the singer made earlier this summer about her experience with psychiatric medication are going viral, the New York Post reports. Speaking to Zane Lowe about her new album, "Chromatica," on Apple Music's Beats 1 radio station, Gaga explained that the song, "911," is about olanzapine, a "second generation" anti-psychotic drug used to treat bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. The medication has worked wonders for Gaga, whose mental health struggle dates back to her teenage years, when she was raped multiple times. As a result of those incidents, she suffers from PTSD and fibromyalgia — but meds have helped. "I can't always control things that my brain does — and I have to take medication to stop the process that occurs," Gaga told Zane. "I know I have mental issues and I know that they can sometimes render me non-functional as a human." Last year, the singer detailed the harrowing "psychotic break" she had that first inspired a doctor to prescribe olanzapine, telling Oprah Winfrey in an interview for Elle how she ended up in the ER. "It was one of the worst things that's ever happened to me," Gaga said at the time. "I didn't understand what was going on, because my whole body went numb; I fully dissociated. I was screaming, and then he [her psychiatrist] calmed me down and gave me medication for when that happens." Gaga added that the medicine "really helped" her and that she wants to "erase the stigma" associated with psychiatric drugs so that others can find relief, too.
Olivia Wilde explains her Breonna Taylor shirt to her 3-year-old daughter
Monday, Aug. 10, marked 150 days since Louisville, Kentucky EMT Breonna Taylor was killed in her home by police — and a growing roster of stars want the officers involved held accountable. Donning T-shirts emblazoned with a message to that effect Monday, Olivia Wilde, Regina King, Jessica Alba, Amy Schumer and more celebs shared photos of themselves in the shirts, which were created by Phenomenal Woman, a Black female-owned company whose activism inspired apparel sales support social justice causes. The shorts worn by Regina and other stars Monday read, "Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor," on the front. On the back, above an artist's rendering of Breonna, the shirts say, "Say her name." In their captions, the stars wrote: "It's been 150 days since Breonna Taylor was murdered in her home by Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove — and her killers have not been charged. Too often Black women who die from police violence are forgotten, but that is changing now. We will remind and remember until there is justice for these women. Let's stay loud, keep demanding justice for Breonna and her family, and SAY HER NAME." Olivia, who shares two kids with Jason Sudeikis, added: "Today I explained this t shirt to my 3 yr old daughter. I didn't sugarcoat the tragedy of it. She should know what kind of world she is here to reimagine. Her innocent horror and confusion should be all of ours."
Nick Cannon claims his great grandfather was a 'Spanish rabbi'
Last month, after Nick Cannon's anti-Semitic comments on his YouTube series, "Cannon's Class" got him fired by ViacomCBS, he issued an apology for his "hurtful and divisive words." This week, Nick continued his mea culpa tour with a visit to the American Jewish Committee's online program "AJC Advocacy Anywhere," where he claimed, among other things, that his great grandfather was a Spanish rabbi. "My mother has been calling me every single day since this happened with so much family history," Nick told the host, according to Page Six. "My great-grandfather was a Spanish rabbi. He's a Sephardic Jewish man. So, as much heat as I've been catching from the public and the outside, this hit home for my family in a real way because I come from a Black and Jewish family on my mother's side." The original comments Nick made were during a conversation with Public Enemy's Professor Griff, in which they rehashed a number of controversial conspiracy theories implicating Jewish people. Speaking to Rabbi Noam Marans on the AJC show Monday, Nick said that while some people were "upset" that he apologized for his comments, he believes, "that's what someone of true character is actually supposed to do" in that situation. "Now," he added, "let's get through this process of truth and reconciliation."
Stephen Colbert, James Corden return to taping late night shows from their studios
This week, two more late-night talk show staples returned to shooting from their studios. Sort of. On Monday, Stephen Colbert and James Corden both went back to work to film "The Late Show" and "The Late Late Show" after months of shooting from home due to the coronavirus pandemic. In both cases, the hosts seemed excited to take a step towards normalcy, even though, as Deadline noted, Stephen filmed from the Ed Sullivan Theater's office building rather than the stage. "It's the first time that I haven't done my show in my house in five months," Stephen marveled. "I'm so happy to be here to see members of my crew." He went on to praise his staff for creating a replica of his office for filming purposes. "The Beatles, granted, did not perform in here," he joked, "but the girls still went crazy when Ringo came up here to make copies." Later on his own show, James joked about the safety protocols that have been put in place but admitted shooting in the studio was, "still better than the garage." Jimmy Fallon, meanwhile, returned to shooting "The Tonight Show" from 30 Rock last month. On Tuesday, he welcomes his first live studio guest, Phish's Trey Anastasio, to perform with The Roots. "All done safely and carefully," he tweeted. "We are so psyched."
