Neve Campbell explains why she ditched her life in the spotlight
After her tenure on "Party of Five," Neve Campbell went on to appear in "The Craft," four "Scream" movies and "House of Cards," among other projects. Then, as Stephen Colbert pointed out on "The Late Show" this week (via E! News), she split. "You went to London," the host said, before joking, "Why don't you like us, Neve Campbell? Why did you leave America?" The 44-year-old "Skyscraper" star laughed. "I just needed a minute," she explained. "It was a long minute. It was a good minute." The two went on to discuss Neve's early days in Hollywood, an experience her Ontario upbringing had not exactly prepared her for. "I just didn't know American pop culture at all. And then suddenly I became an actor and suddenly these things were happening to me," Neve said. She remained a bit bewildered through it all, including a 1997 hosting gig for "Saturday Night Live." "I wasn't that familiar with it. I was terrified! And then I found out that my musician was David Bowie, and my friend was like, 'David Bowie? Oh, my God!' And I was like, 'Who's David Bowie?' I had no idea. That experience was so wasted on me, 'cause I was clueless! Like, absolutely clueless!" she recalled. By 2008, she said, she began to get pickier with regard to roles. "In my twenties, it all hit so fast and so big that it was a little overwhelming — wonderful, obviously, and I'm very grateful for it. But it got to a level also where the kinds of things that I was being offered were not the kinds of things I want to do," she said. "I was constantly being offered horror films, because I was known for horror films. Or bad romantic comedies. I just wasn't interested in the scripts and I was feeling a bit unhappy with the things that were coming to me. And I was feeling a little bored with the whole thing. I thought, 'I want a change.' So, I moved to London." It turned out to be just what she was looking for. "I was completely anonymous there. It's just very different there. I literally did not get bothered once! People would ask me what I did for a living. I'd say, 'I act,' and they'd say, 'Oh, OK,'" she recalled. "It was so lovely!" Now that she's back, she has plenty on her plate. Neve and her partner, JJ Feild, revealed they'd adopted a son — their second child — earlier this year. Her new action flick, "Skyscraper," which also stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, hits theaters Friday, July 13.

In recent months, most of what we've seen from new mom Kylie Jenner has revolved around her young daughter, Stormi, her friends — and her famously changing lips. But as Forbes' new cover story points out, the 20-year-old is a serious force to be reckoned with when it comes to her business acumen. Her two-year-old Kylie Cosmetics company "has sold more than $630 million worth of makeup since" then, according to the magazine, which ranks Kylie, who's worth about $900 million, as the youngest person on its list of America's Richest Self-Made Women. "Another year of growth will make her the youngest self-made billionaire ever, male or female," says Forbes. Kylie also happens to own 100 percent of her company, most of whose success has been leveraged via her Instagram and Snapchat presence. "Social media is an amazing platform," she says. "I have such easy access to my fans and my customers." Though she says she sees herself working on her company "forever," she muses that there's one person who could potentially take it over, telling the mag: "Maybe one day [I'll] pass this on to Stormi, if she's into it."

Ariana Grande barely spoke for days following Manchester attack
Ariana Grande still can't talk about the details of what happened in Manchester during her concert last May when a suicide bomber triggered an explosion in the lobby of the concert venue that killed 22 people ranging in age from 8 years old to 51, and injured hundreds of others. But she has been talking about the effect mass violence has on the psyches of survivors like her. "When I got home from tour, I had really wild dizzy spells, this feeling like I couldn't breathe," the singer says in Elle's new cover story (via ET). "I would be in a good mood, fine and happy, and they would hit me out of nowhere. I've always had anxiety, but it had never been physical before. There were a couple of months straight where I felt so upside down." She ended up writing a new song about that feeling, "Get Well Soon," with Pharrell Williams. "It's all the voices in my head talking to one another," she says of the track, which appears on her new album, "Sweetener." "You hear about these things. You see it on the news, you tweet a hashtag. It's happened before, and it'll happen again. It makes you sad, you think about it for a little, and then people move on. But experiencing something like that firsthand, you think of everything different," says Ariana, who performed earlier this year at the March for Our Lives rally to end gun violence. Elle also spoke to Ariana's mom, Joan, who was at the concert in England with her daughter last May. "I didn't know where I was going. I just knew I was going to my daughter," she says, recalling the horrific moments after the bomb went off. "Not to be overly dramatic — I struggle with this every day – but I didn't know what I would find when I got to her. I sympathize with every parent who was waiting for a child. Those minutes when you don't know what's happening … there are no words." Joan and Ariana eventually left Manchester and went home to Florida, where Elle reports "Ariana cried endlessly and barely spoke for two days." Finally, Joan says Ariana realized she had to bounce back. "It was two or three in the morning; she crawled into bed and said, 'Mom, let's be honest, I'm never not going to sing again. But I'm not going to sing again until I sing in Manchester first,'" Joan shares. Ariana explains that the city and its response changed her life. Says Joan of her newly engaged daughter: "She loves a bit more fearlessly than she did before."

Busy Philipps gets her first tattoo
Busy Philipps didn't just become an author this year — she became a tattooed author. As she explained on Instagram Stores (via People), Busy, whose book, "This Will Only Hurt a Little," hits shelves in October, woke up with the urge to get inked. When she found out her friend, Kelly Oxford, was at a tattoo parlor later that day, Busy couldn't help but join her. "I said out loud today, 'I want to get a tattoo today.' And I then was about to just go to M Cafe and get some dinner and Kelly texted, 'I'm getting a tattoo right now,' and I said, 'Where are you — I'm coming to meet you.' This is how I do things guys. It's so crazy how the world works, isn't it?" she said in the Instagram post. After visiting the tat artist Down at Studio City Tattoo in Los Angeles, the star shared a pic of the finished product. "It says 'aced out in her nudes' and what it means is in my book❤️(which is now finished and also available for pre-order at busypbook.com 😂) oh! And similar to the TITLE of my book- this only hurt a little. 🙌🏼❤️😂," she captioned the shot, which showed handwritten text going up the inside of her arm. As it turns out, Busy's body art urge was contagious. "Wow wow wow guys," she said in a post. "Crazy turn of events. My mom just texted and now she wants a tattoo for her 75th birthday." Never say never!
Prince's copy of 'Purple Rain,' bible, other items hit the auction block
Attention, disciples of the Purple One: You have until July 21 to bid on a slew of the late music icon's belongings recently made available for sale via Heritage Auctions. The pieces include Prince's copy of "Purple Rain," listed at a starting bid of $1,500, his navy blue silk suit, which starts at $10,000, and one of his Jehovah's Witness Bibles, which is estimated to bring in about $7,000. The musician's wedged shoes, cuff links, an ear cuff, a pair of sunglasses and a number of backstage passes are on the auction block as well, according to TMZ. The items in the lot came courtesy of a former Prince bodyguard.
Laverne Cox and Kyle Draper celebrate their one-year anniversary
Congrats are in order for these two lovebirds! After going public with her romance in April, Laverne Cox is celebrating a special milestone this week with her beau, Kyle Draper. "Happy 1 year anniversary babe. I love you so much!" she wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, July 10. This spring, the "Orange Is the New Black" star revealed her new romance with Kyle began Tinder. "It's incredible. It's like love is so incredibly healing. I'm just so happy. When you're happy … love is life-saving," she said at the time, according to the New York Post. "Everybody gets along. His family's amazing. My mom likes him. It's good."
Princess Charlotte and Prince George will appear in Princess Eugenie's wedding
These two are becoming quite the wedding experts! The Express reported this week that when Princess Eugenie of York weds Jack Brooksbank in October at Windsor Castle, Princess Charlotte, 3, will lead the flower girls, while her brother, Prince George, serves as a page boy. (As Celebitchy reminds us, Windsor family weddings generally feature children as "bridesmaids," young page boys and flower girls and an adult maid or matron of honor.) The wedding will be Charlotte's first as flower girl — she was a bridesmaid both when her uncle Prince Harry married Meghan Markle, and when her aunt, Pippa Middleton, married James Matthews. Eugenie's will be the third ceremony at which George is a page boy. Theordora Rose, the daughter of Eugenie and Jack's friend, singer Robbie Williams, will also appear in the wedding as a bridesmaid.
Thief racks up more than $169k in credit card debt on Demi Moore's AmEx card
The man who allegedly stole Demi Moore's credit card and proceeded to rack up more than $100,000 in debt made it pretty easy for authorities to find him. TMZ reports David Matthew Read contacted American Express and said the actress' card had been lost or stolen in March. FedEx delivered a new one to Demi that apparently got intercepted by the suspect, who then went shopping at Los Angeles area stores including Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue. Within a few weeks, he'd reportedly spent more than $169,000 on the card. His visit to FedEx to get the card, as well as some of his shopping trips, were reportedly captured by surveillance footage. When federal prosecutors went to arrest him, he confessed to the theft. He's now in L.A. County jail, according to TMZ.
PETA honors Ava DuVernay, Benedict Cumberbatch as the year's 'Most Beautiful' famous vegans
Thanks to their public commitment to veganism, Ava DuVernay and Benedict Cumberbatch have been named PETA's "Most Beautiful Vegan Celebrities of 2018." "Ava DuVernay and Benedict Cumberbatch are saving animals not only by going vegan, but also by sharing their commitment with the world," PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange tells E! News in a statement. "The vegan powerhouses behind 'Selma' and 'Doctor Strange' beautifully show what it means to be a compassionate star in 2018." Benedict, who made a splash on the cover of a 2016 edition of GQ in vegan boots and a suit from an all-vegan menswear store, according to PETA, recently credited his diet with helping him get fit to play Doctor Strange in "Avengers: Infinity War." Ava, meanwhile, has explained her vegan diet on Twitter, telling followers last year: "Like many food trends that seem new, black veganism has historical roots. For a lot of black people, it's also about social justice and food access. The food we've been eating has been killing us.'"
