"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" hits theaters on July 26, 2019, and we honestly can't wait! The Quentin Tarantino-directed flick stars Leonardo DiCaprio as an aging television star and Brad Pitt as his stunt double. The pair embark on a Hollywood journey to make a name for themselves and encounter Sharon Tate (played by Margot Robbie), Bruce Lee (played by Mike Moh), Steven McQueen (played by Damian Lewis) and more along the way. Michelle Williams took on the role of real-life Hollywood starlet Marilyn Monroe in 2011's "My Week With Marilyn." Her flawless performance earned her a Golden Globe win and an Academy Award nomination for best actress.

Jim Carrey played real-life actor and comedian Andy Kaufman in 1999's "Man On the Moon." The "In Living Color" alum earned critical acclaim for his performance and went on to win a Golden Globe.

Gloria Swanson starred as Norma Desmond, a reclusive silent film star, in 1950's "Sunset Boulevard." Her amazing performance earned her an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe win.

Angela Bassett blew us away when she played real-life singer Tina Turner in "What's Love Got To Do With It." Critics also lauded her standout performance in the 1993 biopic.

Gwyneth Paltrow played Viola de Lesseps, the daughter of a wealthy merchant who secretly joins an acting troupe, in 1998's Shakespeare in Love. Her performance as Viola earned Gwyneth an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for best actress.

Robert Townsend played aspiring actor Bobby Taylor in 1987's "Hollywood Shuffle," which he also directed, wrote and produced. The satirical comedy is based on Robert's own experiences as a black actor and the many times he was told he was not "black enough" for certain roles.

Faye Dunaway gave an epic performance as controversial Hollywood star Joan Crawford in "Mommie Dearest." Her emotionally charged portrayal helped turn the 1981 drama into a cult classic.

Ben Affleck starred as real-life 1950s actor George Reeves in "Hollywoodland." He earned a Golden Globe nod for his performance in the 2006 flick.

Jason Scott Lee played real-life martial artist and celebrated actor Bruce Lee in "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story." The 1993 biopic was well received by critics and audiences, grossing more than $63 million at the box office.

Greg Kinnear played real-life actor Bob Crane — whose murder remains a mystery to this day — in "Auto Focus." He received universal praise for his performance in the 2002 film.

Robert Downey Jr. played real-life silent movie star Charlie Chaplin in 1992's "Chaplin." The "Avengers" star earned Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations for his portrayal.

Robert Downey Jr. wasn't the only actor to play another actor in "Chaplin." Kevin Kline co-starred as real-life leading man and silent movie star Douglas Fairbanks in the 1992 film.

Dustin Hoffman played Michael Dorsey (aka Dorothy Michaels), a difficult actor whose reputation forces him to adopt a new identity as a woman in order to land acting gigs, in "Tootsie." Dustin earned an Oscar nomination for his performance in the film, which was the second most profitable movie of 1982.

Emma Stone starred as aspiring actress Mia Dolan, who eventually builds an A-list career, in 2016's "La La Land." The "Easy A" star won her first Academy Award for her performance in the movie musical.

Naomi Watts played Betty Elms, an aspiring actress, in 2001's "Mulholland Drive." The neo-noir thriller is widely regarded as one of the best films of the 2000s and is largely credited with boosting Naomi's Hollywood career.

Jennifer Love Hewitt starred as Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn in 2000's "The Audrey Hepburn Story." The ABC biopic covered Audrey's early childhood to her life as a A-lister.

Lindsay Lohan transformed herself into acting legend Elizabeth Taylor for the Lifetime original movie "Liz & Dick." Unfortunately, the 2012 flick was universally panned by critics, with some calling the film "spectacularly bad." Ouch.
