2019 Academy of Country Music Awards nominations were announced on Feb. 20 and Chris Stapleton and Dan + Shay scored the most nods with six each. Best album Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves followed close behind with five.
Dua Lipa, Drake among 2019 Brit Award winners
Dua Lipa, Drake, Ariana Grande and other stars took home prizes on Feb. 20 at the 2019 Brit Awards in London. Dua won the British single award with Calvin Harris for "One Kiss," while Drake received the international male solo artist award, beating out Shawn Mendes, who attended the event.

The Carters — Beyonce and JAY-Z — made sure to shoutout Duchess Meghan while accepting their 2019 Brit Award for best international group on Feb. 20. The married couple, who were unable to attend the award show, filmed a thank-you video in front of a portrait of Meghan — recreating a scene from their "APES—" music video. "In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy," Bey captioned an Instagram photo of the pair standing in front of the portrait afterward.

50 Cent considering legal action against NYPD commander after alleged threat
50 Cent (real name: Curtis Jackson) is consulting with his legal team after an NYPD commander reportedly told other officers to "shoot him on sight." Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez, the commanding officer of the 72nd Precinct, allegedly made the threat in June 2018. The rapper's representative released a statement on Feb. 17 saying, "Mr. Jackson takes this threat very seriously and is consulting with his legal counsel regarding his options going forward. He is concerned that he was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD and even more concerned that Gonzalez continues to carry a badge and a gun."

Tekashi 6ix9ine confesses to selling drugs, shootings and robberies in guilty plea
Tekashi 6ix9ine's entire guilty plea was made public on Feb. 14, revealing that the rapper participated in several violent crimes. Tekashi reportedly pleaded guilty to using a weapon in the attempted murder of an individual, paying a fellow gang member to shoot at a rival near New York City's Times Square and possessing "with intention to distribute" one kilogram of drugs "with a detectable amount of heroin."
Monkees singer Peter Tork dead at 77
Peter Tork, the bass guitarist in the '60s pop group the Monkees, died on Feb. 21 at 77. His sister, Anne Thorkelson, confirmed the news but did not reveal how or where Peter, who battled a rare tongue cancer a decade ago, passed away.
The Jonas Brothers to reunite six years after hiatus
The Jonas Brothers are coming to a stage near you! Kevin Jonas, Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas are reportedly reuniting six years after announcing their split. The trio, whom sources say are taking meetings in London, will reportedly be releasing new music and a documentary and will operate under a single moniker, "JONAS," dropping "Brothers" from their name.
