The hour-long event, which benefits Robin Hood (New York's largest poverty-fighting organization), will feature famous New Yorkers like Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Governor Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Chris Rock, Michael Strahan, Ben Platt, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lopez, Jimmy Fallon, Robert De Niro and many more (Billy Joel and Mariah Carey are among the performers). On May 17 at 10 p.m. EST, ABC will air "Taylor Swift: City of Lover Concert" following the "American Idol" season finale (the special will then be made available to stream on Hulu and Disney+ starting May 18 at midnight EST). On May 7, Zac Brown Band performed on Verizon's "Pay It Forward LIVE," weekly livestream in support of small businesses affected by COVID-19. The series' inaugural episode, which premiered on March 26, featured an intimate at-home performance from Dave Matthews. "Over the course of 'Pay It Forward Live' viewers are encouraged to tag their favorite local businesses and do what they can to support them," read a statement from the company. Verizon also announced that it's donating $10 to support small business, up to $2.5 million, when the hashtag #PayItForwardLive is used. "Parks and Recreation" fans got a real treat on April 30 when the main cast reunited online — and in character — for NBC's "A Parks and Recreation Special." On April 21, comedian Dave Chappelle, who was quarantined at home in Ohio, helped raise more than $100,000 for comedians who've found themselves jobless due to the coronavirus pandemic. He and a cast of all-star comics like Whitney Cummings, Bill Burr, Chris D'Elia, Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino all appeared on a three-podcast video conference benefit for The Comedy Store Family Fund. "The Comedy Store wants to spread some joy as everyone is sheltering in place," the venue explained, as reported by Deadline, before the benefit took place. In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the Grammy Museum launched "Museum at Home," a section of their website where fans can watch exclusive archived content. "Our doors may be closed, our mission is not," said Grammy Museum President Michael Sticka. "So the Grammy Museum was able to, almost within a 48-hour period, pivot and create a digital museum. And it's entirely free." Calling all thespians! Legendary composer Andrew Lloyd Webber launched "The Show Must Go On!" — a YouTube channel on which he'll stream a musical (for free!) every week. Each musical will be available to watch for 48 hours starting at 7 p.m. on Friday nights. The Tony Award-winning composer kicked things off with a production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." "Jesus Christ Superstar" was made available to stream on April 10, while "The Phantom of the Opera" became available to stream a week later on April 17. Though all the musicals will be available to watch without charge, Andrew is accepting donations to go toward organizations that support the acting community, like Actors Benevolent Fund, Acting For Others and Broadway Cares. The name, a play on its 501 denim, takes place daily at 5:01 p.m. PT and kicked off on March 27.
