"Game of Thones" leads Emmy nominations with 22 nods
After a thrilling Season 7, "Game of Thrones" was recognized by the Emmys with a whopping 22 nominations. HBO's huge hit TV show was the most nominated series, edging out "Saturday Night Live," "Westworld" and "Handmaid's Tale" for the honor. Other things of note from the July 12 Emmy nominations announcement: Netflix scored 112 nods, with NBC leading broadcast TV with 78 nominations. Sandra Oh also became the first Asian woman to be nominated for lead actress in a drama. The Emmys will air Sept. 17.

Maisie Williams says a bloody goodbye to "Game of Thrones"
Days before the Emmys showered "Game of Thrones" with nominations, Maisie Williams made headlines for her social media posting marking the end of her run as Arya Stark. "Goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones. what a joy i've had. here's to the adventures to come #lastwomanstanding #barely #immasleepforthenextfouryears #justkiddingidontsleep," Williams captioned the shot showing her bloody sneakers. Despite the cast being done with filming, viewers won't be seeing any new episodes until the final season debuts in the summer of 2019.

Roseanne Barr cancels tell-all interview
That's another cancellation for Roseanne Barr! On July 8, the actress and comedian announced her intention to do a tell-all interview following the controversy surrounding her racist tweet and ABC's decision to cancel her rebooted sitcom, "Roseanne," in May. But the next day, she'd changed her mind. "After a lot of thought, I decided that I won't be doing any TV interviews, too stressful & untrustworthy 4 me & my fans," she shared on Twitter. "I'm going to film it myself & post it on my youtube channel in the next week — the entire explanation of what happened & why!"

Reese Witherspoon to host new show for AT&T
Reese Witherspoon has a new gig lined up! Already one of the busiest women in Hollywood, she'll also soon be hosting a new interview series called "Shine On With Reese" for AT&T. Starting July 17, the show will release new episodes every week — and it already has incredible talent slated like Dolly Parton, Kacey Musgraves and America Ferrara, amongst others. "I am thrilled to have such like-minded, creative collaborators at AT&T to help [my company] Hello Sunshine pursue our mission of elevating and showcasing the voices of women that we have such admiration and respect for," Witherspoon shared of her new job. "I am so excited for the world to experience the stories from our partnership with AT&T, which are set to be equal parts entertaining, inspiring, thought-provoking and unabashedly real."
Sarah Palin says Sacha Baron Cohen duped her in interview
On July 10, Sarah Palin took to Facebook to share that she unknowingly participated in an interview with Sacha Baron Cohen for his new Showtime series, "Who is America?" The famous Republican believed she was sitting down to chat with a wounded veteran before realizing who he actually was. "Yup — we were duped. Ya' got me, Sacha. Feel better now?" Palin began. "I join a long list of American public personalities who have fallen victim to the evil, exploitive, sick 'humor' of the British 'comedian' Sacha Baron Cohen, enabled and sponsored by CBS/Showtime. This 'legit opportunity' to honor American Vets and contribute to a 'legit Showtime historical documentary' was requested of me via a speakers bureau." She then went on to ask Sasha to donate his proceeds to a charity that helps wounded U.S. vets. Showtime had no immediate comment regarding Palin's claims. Sacha, meanwhile, released a letter he'd written to the politician, in character, in which he claimed he'd been in service with United Parcel, not the military. "Who is America?" will premiere on July 15.
Jason Bateman inks Netflix deal for TV and movies
After the success of "Ozark" — which Jason Bateman stars in and produces — as well as the rebooted "Arrested Development," he's decided to make Netflix his home for upcoming creative projects. Jason signed a first-look, multi-year deal that includes both TV shows and movies. "I am excited to continue our long relationship with Jason and watch him excel not only as a talented actor and filmmaker, but also as a producer. We are looking to Aggregate [his production company] as a major supplier for us here at Netflix," chief content officer Ted Sarandos said.
Jeremy and Audrey Roloff set to leave "Little People, Big World"
Jeremy and Audrey Roloff made headlines this week when they announced on Instagram their decision to leave "Little People, Big World" after 14 years on the hit TLC show. "After 14 years, over 300 episodes, and 17 seasons, the time has come," Jeremy wrote on Instagram. "A year ago, I made the decision that this season would be our last. It has been an amazing run, and I can't say thank you enough to all of you who have watched and supported us along the ride. We have the most loyal fans on TV and we appreciate every one of you. You are what made doing this so fun. We will still be supporting the family as they carry the #LPBW torch onward. This is a decision concerning Audrey and me specifically — the show must go on!"

After a few weeks on vacation with limited internet reception, Jimmy Kimmel is responding to a story Donald Trump told at a rally in June. At the time, President Trump claimed that the late-night host stood on the sidewalk outside his studio, waiting for him to arrive, and even opened his car door in hopes of getting a moment with Donald. The comedian explained that it's not true. "That never happened," Kimmel said. "We all know, like even the people who like the president, know he makes things up, but still, it's weird to hear him tell a lie that specifically involves you. All of a sudden you're like, 'Wait, no, he's lying!'"
British reality TV star Sophie Gradon's boyfriend dies weeks after her
A few weeks after Sophie Gradon, a former contestant on the U.K. reality show "Love Island" as well as a onetime Miss Great Britain, was found dead of a suspected suicide on June 20, her boyfriend, Aaron Armstrong, was found dead on July 10. Few details have been released about either's passing, but authorities confirm that coroner reports are forthcoming.
