Gene David Fischer is officially 1 — and his mom, Amy Schumer, couldn't help but share the news in a text to her fans.
"Lots of love being sent your way," Amy wrote via Community on Sunday, May 10. "Here is us celebrating Gene's first bday!"
The comic attached a photo of the crown-clad (and newly renamed) birthday boy enjoying some toy-centric quality time on the floor with her and her husband, Chris Fischer.
She also shared a loving message to her husband's late mother and Gene's namesake, writing on Instagram, "Happy Mother's Day to the original Gene (Jean) Fischer. I never got to meet you but I love you. Thanks for bringing that little guy into the world."
Meanwhile, Amy and Chris are set to premiere their first show for the Food Network — "Amy Schumer Learns to Cook" — on Monday.
The series showcases Chris's chef skills as he and Amy quarantine with Gene at their home in Martha's Vineyard.
Despite the title, the teaser suggests Amy's fledgling culinary education comes with a generous side of cocktails, which are apparently her specialty. Chris, a professional chef who previously ran his family's nearby, five-acre farm after working at New York City's Babbo under Mario Batali, handles the stove on the show.
The first episode features Chris's step-by-step guide for Amy on how to poach the perfect egg and make bacon, celery and fennel salad. The couple also makes latkes, according to the Food Network's website.
Other menu items they cover include fried rice, chicken wings and peanut butter cup cookies, which Chris instructs Amy on after she helps him master the art of Moscow mule-mixing.
