Ever since Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger began dating in mid-2018, it seemed that an engagement was in the cards. On Jan. 14, that became a reality. The actor announced on Instagram that he and Katherine are planning to wed. "Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I'm thrilled to be marrying you," Chris captioned a photo of himself embracing his new fiancée while she shows off a big diamond ring. "Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!" The daughter or Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver later posted the same photo, writing, "My sweet love. Wouldn't want to live this life with anyone but you." This will be her first marriage and Chris's second. The actor's ex wife, Anna Faris, publicly supported the engagement, writing on the actor star's Instagram, "I'm so happy for you both!! Congratulations!"

Prison inmate

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is now paying his debt to society. The "Jersey Shore" star surrendered to authorities on Jan. 15 to begin an eight-month prison sentence. While en route to lockup, he recorded an Instagram Live video in which he proclaimed, "The comeback is always greater than the setback." For the majority of the year, Mike will call the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York, home. The MTV star pleaded guilty to tax evasion last January. Mike's wife, Lauren, accompanied him during his ride to prison. Afterward, she shared a throwback image of her and Mike. "So proud to call this incredible man my husband," she wrote. "To the strongest man I know, I love you endlessly, see you soon honey."

Seeking treatment

Paris Jackson checked herself into a treatment facility this week to improve her emotional health. Through the years, Paris has been open about her battles with depression and anxiety. "Yes i've taken a break from work and social media and my phone because it can be too much sometimes, and everyone deserves a break, but i am happy and healthy and feeling better than ever!" she wrote on Instagram on Jan. 16. She added that the media is "exaggerating" the story.

More fallout

The fallout from Lifetime's "Surviving R. Kelly" docuseries continued this week after Celine Dion pulled her collaboration with R. Kelly from streaming services, TMZ reported. Back in 1998, the two recorded "I'm Your Angel" (R. Kelly actually wrote the song, but Celine performed it). The song was hugely popular two years ago and was even nominated for a Grammy. Prior to Celine's move, Lady Gaga announced plans to pull her R. Kelly collaboration, "Do What U Want (With My Body)," from streaming services too. In other R. Kelly-related news, French Montana found himself in hot water when he appeared to support the controversial R&B singer, telling TMZ that R. Kelly, who's being painted as a sexual predator, had a right to his legacy. "They don't let nobody have their legendary moments," French said. "They did Michael Jackson like that. They did R. Kelly like that." He also said, "Let somebody enjoy their legacy. Whatever happened, happened, man." Afterward, French appeared to backtrack, tweeting, "Let me be clear. My heart is with the victims. I never thought the people I looked up to as a kid, who sang and danced and gave me hope to become a superstar would become drug addicts, child molestors [sic] and rapists. I am hoping we as a culture create better leaders. We need them." Kanye West also seemed to support R. Kelly after he was caught on tape saying, "They want art from the artist. But anytime they do anything erratic, they just gonna pull up the full documentaries on him." Kim Kardashian West, though, said her husband wasn't talking about the R&B star. "Kanye was speaking about his own experience of everyone quick to say they are canceling him because of differences in opinion & not being perfect," she said. "The analogies were in context to his own experiences, not defending anyone else."

Single woman

It's over for Heather Locklear and boyfriend Chris Heisser. The split comes as the "Melrose Place" star has started "outpatient rehab at home," a source told People magazine. The source claimed the split is essentially a "reset button" for Heather and will help with her sobriety. Chris, the friend said, "did not help her sustain her goals of sobriety… She set goals of sobriety two years ago and those were not working with him in the picture." Now, Heather is simply able to focus on herself. Currently, the actress — who has struggled with substance abuse in the past, as well as depression and anxiety — is "under a doctor's care," the source added, and is "not around anybody who is not a good influence," which is "good and comforting news to family and friends."

Spring baby

Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry will be a family of three before you know it. During an official visit to Birkenhead, England, on Jan. 14, a woman asked the mother-to-be when she was due. Meghan told the woman she's six months pregnant and due around the end of April or beginning of May. When Kensington Palace first announced Meghan's pregnancy, a statement simply said she was due in the spring. Meghan and Harry also told the woman that they don't know their baby's gender and have chosen to keep it a "surprise."

Bike lawsuit

Ed Sheeran's bicycle accident from 2017 — the same one that forced him to cancel several concerts — is at the center of a new lawsuit. The Blast obtained court documents in which AEG (the company that handled Ed's tour) is being sued by Marygops Studios, a promoter in Jakarta, Indonesia. Ed was supposed to perform in Jakarta on Nov. 9, 2017, but bowed out because of his broken arms. The lawsuit is tricky, but basically Marygops said AEG (and Ed) had no right to cancel the show because of the injury. Marygops also said they asked for Ed's medical records but never got them. Putting it plainly: They claim AEG breached the contract because the singer never performed. Ed isn't named in the case, but the case clearly revolves around him.

Baby boy!

Kim Kardashian West has finally confirmed reports that she and Kanye West are expanding their family. Shortly after the New Year, Us Weekly and People magazine reported that the superstar couple were expecting their fourth child and second via surrogate. On Jan. 14, Kim told Bravo's Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live" that the reports were true. The due date, she said, is "sometime soon." After the host asked her if she knew the gender of the baby, Kim replied, "We do. It's a boy. It's out there. I got drunk at our Christmas Eve party and I told some people, but I can't remember who I told." People magazine reported that the surrogate the couple used for their 1-year-old daughter, Chicago, is different from the surrogate they are using this time.

Weight winner

Kathy Bates looks nothing like she did several years ago, and she's now opening up about her 60-pound weight loss. While speaking to Us Weekly, she said she lost the weight via "mindfulness, just knowing when to push my plate away." She continued, "At some point when you're eating, you have this involuntary sigh and that's really your brain and your stomach communicating that you've had enough," she said. "The trick is to pay attention to that and push your plate away." Kathy also said she's eliminated junk food and soda from her diet. The transformation took "a few years." "I have never been in such good health," she said. "I just had a physical. I'm doing great… I feel like a completely different person. I can move, I can walk. I just wish I had done it years ago."

Friendly ex

So, it is possible to remain friends with your ex! Gwyneth Paltrow is happily married to Brad Falchuk, but she still speaks to her ex-husband Chris Martin every single day. "I think we've managed to really stay a family," she told ES Magazine. "Chris is a very close friend. I see him every day, I talk to him every day." The actress said she and Chris continue to focus on their two children, Apple, 14, and Moses, 12. "[The divorce] was very difficult, but I think you see in the children that they got through it, so I am proud of us, I really am," Gwyn noted. "We kept to our commitment that we would put the children first."
