Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox — who along with their "Friends" co-stars were nominated for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy at the Fifth Annual SAG Awards in 1999 — complemented each other in quintessentially late-'90s looks: a scarf-style crop top and ballgown skirt for Jen and a leather-look minidress for Courtney.
At the 2003 SAG Awards, Uma Thurman — who was nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor in a TV movie or miniseries for her work in "Hysterical Blindness" that year — looked like a flower garden goddess in a midriff-baring floral-print two-piece dress with a playful floral collar and petal-fringe.

At the 2014 SAG Awards, Amy Adams oozed Old Hollywood glamour in this structured cobalt blue gown by Antonio Berardi that featured an embellished waist and a thigh-high slit. The actress — who won a SAG Award that night as part of the ensemble cast of "American Hustle" — paired the look with Cartier jewels and Jimmy Choo heels.
One of our favorite red carpet looks was Lupita Nyong'o's vibrant turquoise gown at the 2014 SAG Awards. The sleek, simple Gucci dress was elevated to a new fashion level by the gorgeous beaded floral embellishments at the neckline, giving Lupita — who was nominated for two SAG Awards that year (she won the trophy for outstanding performance by a female actor in a supporting role for her work in "12 Years a Slave") — one of the most beautiful looks of the night.
Gwyneth Paltrow's 1999 SAG Awards dress was representative of an entire decade of fashion. Wearing an empire silhouette gown by Gucci that featured a structured bodice and a long, flowing tulle-layered skirt, Gwyneth — who won two awards that night (for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role and outstanding performance by a cast for her work in "Shakespeare in Love") — rocked the ethereal waif look that was so popular in the '90s. Also check out her micro purse, which was years ahead of its time.
Emma Stone arrived at the 2017 SAG Awards in this sheer black floral-print and lace gown by Alexander McQueen that left fashion critics divided. The dress was made extra memorable as Emma wore it when she accepted the statue for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role for her work in "La La Land."
Julia Roberts made fashion headlines — some good, some bad — when she arrived at the 2014 SAG Awards in this bubblegum pink Valentino jumpsuit. The pintucked, fitted bodice gave this monotone one-piece a little extra intrigue, as did her floral-embellished silver clutch from Roger Vivier. That year, Julia was nominated for two awards for her work in the film "August: Osage County."
Minnie Driver invoked her own name in this sexy beaded minidress at the 1998 SAG Awards. Nominated that night for two awards for her work in "Good Will Hunting," Minnie glittered on the red carpet in this silver sequined frock that featured a micro high-low skirt, silver straps and metallic trim.
Love doesn't adequately express our feelings for the gloriously sheer dress that Taraji P. Henson wore to the 2017 SAG Awards. The Reem Acra gown featured a see-through, high-collared bodice with carefully placed rhinestone embellishments and embroidery that gave way to a flowing full skirt. Taraji — who that night won a SAG Award along with her "Hidden Figures" co-stars for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture — hid none of her amazing figure in this stunning look.
"Modern Family" star Sofía Vergara was romance personified in this stunning red one-shoulder gown from Donna Karan Atelier in 2015. Nominated that year for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, Sofía took our breath away in this figure-hugging dress that featured a stylish cut-out bodice with wrap detail and asymmetrical bust.
At the first ever SAG Awards in 1995, "Murphy Brown" star Candice Bergen hit the red carpet in a black tuxedo. Candice — who was nominated for two awards that night — complemented her look with a glittering multistrand choker and high-volume hair.
At the 2011 SAG Awards, Jennifer Lawrence — who'd received her first ever nomination that year (for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role for her work in "Winter's Bone") — looked pretty in this hot pink gown by Oscar de la Renta. The dress, which featured a black bow belt and unique twisted straps, was complemented by Jennifer's dramatic makeup, black-and-silver clutch and jewelry from Fred Leighton.
At the 2018 SAG Awards, "This Is Us" star Chrissy Metz hit the red carpet in a bold blue gown by Kate Spade New York. Her fashion wasn't the only memorable thing about that night either: Chrissy took home her first SAG Award (for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series).
At the 2018 SAG Awards, Brie Larson struck a stunning pose in this multicolored Gucci gown. Keeping her hair long and loose and her makeup natural, Brie allowed the floral-print dress with puff sleeves and rhinestone detailing around the neckline and bodice to do all the work on the red carpet.
At the 2001 SAG Awards, "Sex and the City" stars Kristin Davis, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall — who were nominated for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series — made a stylish entrance on the red carpet in wildly different looks. SJP, who stood out in her beaded and embroidered black two-piece ensemble — won the statue for outstanding female actor in a comedy series that night.
Meryl Streep — the most nominated actress in Hollywood — caught our eye in this black, green and white belted Balenciaga gown paired with shades and teal statement earrings at the 2010 SAG Awards. She was nominated that night for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role for her work in "Julie & Julia."
Janelle Monae arrived at the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2017 looking like a work of art. The "Hidden Figures" star — who took home a trophy that night for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture — wore this ultramodern sleeveless black-and-white dress from Chanel that featured a floral-embellished bodice and a gorgeous petal collar with matching wrist bands. The singer-actress completed her look with a bejeweled hairstyle, a box clutch and black sandals.
Another stand-out fashion moment at the 2019 SAG Awards was "Crazy Rich Asians" star Gemma Chan's stunning ruffled pale pink gown from Oscar de la Renta. Wearing a custom couture gown that took 100 hours to make, Gemma — who was nominated that night for her first SAG Award (for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture) — finished her red carpet look with Harry Winston jewels and black heels from Christian Louboutin.
At the 2016 SAG Awards, Rachel McAdams hit a perfect fashion note in this black-and-nude gown from Elie Saab. Rachel — who was nominated for two awards (and won one, along with her "Spotlight" co-stars, for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture) — let her generously beaded and embroidered gown shine on the red carpet by keeping her accessories to a minimum.
Laverne Cox slayed in this regal red Zac Posen gown at the 2019 SAG Awards. From the front, the dress seemed like a simple but elegant figure-hugging red dress. From the back, however, all the delicious details were in full focus, including the glittering, multistrand back chains, sumptuous ruffles and a sweeping train. We also love her majestic cape sleeves and that soft polka-dot print on her skirt.
"ER" star Julianna Margulies' dress at the Second Annual SAG Awards in 1996 was one we won't soon forget. Julianna — who won her first SAG Award that year (for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series) — paired the lavender organza shirtdress with simple black lingerie and a diamond necklace, adding a touch of sultry to this sweet look.
If one thing's certain, it's that "Will & Grace" star Debra Messing loves to take risks on the red carpet. At the 2003 SAG Awards, Debra — who along with her co-stars was nominated for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series — wore this texture-heavy white satin and lace long-sleeved dress, which featured a plunging neckline and ribbon detailing on the skirt.
Viola Davis took our breath away in this stunning strapless white-and-gold gown by Marchesa at the 2012 SAG Awards, where she took home two statues (for outstanding performance by a cast and outstanding performance by a lead female actor for her work in "The Help").
"This is Us" star Susan Kelechi Watson brought the sunshine to the 2019 SAG Awards. Wearing this stunning yellow tiered tulle ballgown from Christian Siriano, Susan — who won her second SAG Award that year (for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series) — was like a vibrant ray of light on the awards show red carpet.
While Halle Berry usually winds up on every SAG Awards fashion list for the black slip dress she wore to the inaugural show in 1995, we think her 2018 SAG Awards red carpet look is way more memorable. Halle's custom gown from Pamella Roland featured a cascade of fading bronze sequins that gave way to a nude skirt covered by a flowing black tulle overlay. Halle smartly kept her accessories to a minimum, only adding earrings from jeweler Yael Sonia.
