Britney Spears posts about finding her 'inner grace' as conservatorship is extended until February
Britney Spears will remain under a full conservatorship for another six months, a judge ruled at a hearing this week. According to The Blast, Britney did not succeed in getting her father, Jamie Spears, replaced as her sole conservator by Jodi Montgomery, who's acted as her temporary conservator since Jamie became sick last year. Ultimately, the singer wants some of the more minor restrictions on her daily routine lifted, such as driving. The Blast reports she's OK with the court continuing to manage her finances and medical needs. Meanwhile, Jamie has filed a petition to bring Britney's former real estate manager, Andrew Wallet, back into the fold as a co-conservator, Us Weekly reports. Britney's mom, Lynne Spears, has also asked to be involved in her daughter's finances going forward and was also at the hearing this week. If Britney's Instagram posts are any indication, the singer, 38, is taking all of this in stride. On Thursday, she shared a photo of her hand holding a daisy. "It's the little things … ," she captioned the shot, joking that she's not sure what she "was thinking" when she got the triangle tattoo on her hand that appears in the shot. "During this time of quarantine I really feel like making homemade bread … hanging my clothes outside to dry …. not being on my phone so much … spending more time meditating and praying …. and really finding my inner grace !!!" she continued. "Going back to the old traditions and understanding life has way more meaning …. also living for the beautiful surprises life is guaranteed to give !!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!!!" Britney's conservatorship went into effect in 2008 after she suffered a very public mental health crisis.

Lori Loughlin delivers emotional apology before being sentenced to two months in prison
As expected, Lori Loughlin and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, were sentenced to two and five months in prison, respectively, on Friday, for their role in the college admissions scheme. They'll also both pay large fines ($100,000 and $250,000, respectively) and log community service hours (100 hours for Loughlin and 250 hours for her husband), per the terms of deals they previously accepted. After initially pleading not guilty to fraud charges related to getting their daughters into USC, the couple pleaded guilty in May after their case had dragged on for months. According to Yahoo, Lori was visibly emotional Friday as she told U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Gorton at her virtual hearing, "I've made an awful decision. I went along with a plan to give my daughters an unfair advantage in the college decision process. I thought I was acting out of love for my children, but in reality, it only undermined my daughter's abilities and accomplishments. My decision helped exacerbate existing inequalities in society." She went on to say she believes "in redemption, and I will do everything in my power to redeem myself and do good and give back for the rest of my life," adding, "I am truly profoundly and deeply sorry." Despite their hope for staggered sentences due to their children's needs (à la Teresea and Joe Giudice's broken up sentences), both Loughlin and Giannulli were told to surrender on Nov. 19. Multiple outlets have reported Loughlin's unlikely to serve her full sentence. Her lawyers reportedly recommended she go to a medium security prison near Victorville, California. The former "Fuller House" star and her husband reportedly paid half a million dollars to admissions scheme mastermind Rick Springer to get their daughters, Olivia Jade and Bella Giannulli, into college as rowing recruits. The girls had never participated in the sport.

Easy with the commenting, there, Courteney Cox! As cast confirmations continue trickling in for "Scream 5," fans have decided a note Courteney left on one of Selena Gomez's Instagram posts this week (before deleting it) means the singer is bound for an onscreen battle with good old Mister Ghostface, the resident creepy killer in the fictional town of Woodboro, California. Screenshots captured by Buzzfeed on Friday show the "Friends" alum wrote "This looks fun!" on a promo for Selena's cooking show. "Can't wait to meet you," Courteney added. Though she soon deleted her comment, she wasn't fast enough for fans, who immediately began posting that she'd all but confirmed Selena is joining the cast of the comedy-horror franchise's fifth installment. Fans also noted Courteney, along with her ex, David Arquette, both of whom are set to return for "Scream 5," recently started following Selena on Instagram. Actresses Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, two more new additions to the cast, also just started following Selena's IG. "Scream 5" directors Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are now following Selena on Twitter. Back in May, "Scream" alum Neve Campbell told Rotten Tomatoes she was in talks to return for "Scream 5," as well.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston will be 'onscreen together' during 'Fast Times' virtual live table read
Twenty years after they said "I do," Brad Pitt and his now ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston are giving their early aughts fans a little reunion for a good cause. Technically, the gift giver is Dane Cook, who's put together "Feelin' A-Live: Fast Times at Ridgemont High," a virtual live table read, as a benefit for COVID-19 relief efforts. Brad and Jen are due to be part of the reading, which was slated for Friday, but has since been postponed due to "technical difficulties," according to Variety. While Dane wouldn't reveal who Brad and Jen would be playing, he did assure People the fan-favorite former couple will be "onscreen together." "It's hard to not have those really great … entertainment moments, which we have summer to summer — the big movie or the big moment," Dane explained. "And when I didn't see that was happening, when I started seeing the films that I was anticipating most move out of the summertime spot, I thought, man, wouldn't it be great if somehow, some way we could still create a version of that moment?" Dane said he just "threw out a bunch of names" of folks he'd like to see participate in the rehash of the 1982 classic and a number of stars said "yes," including Sean Penn (who sadly will not be reading the part of Jeff Spicoli), Matthew McConaughey, Morgan Freeman and Shia LaBeouf. "I mean, Jennifer Aniston was lovely, and was so gung-ho," Dane recalled. "Julia Roberts came in within that first week or two, and within 10 days, I knew that this could go the distance. In terms of casting and how we wanted it to come together, there's some expectation of what kind of person should be playing this role or that role, but truly it was about, let's really try to break up the diversity, and let's be unexpected. You know, a live read is a celebration of the written story." Proceeds from the virtual event will benefit Sean's disaster relief nonprofit, CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), and the criminal justice group, REFORM Alliance, which was co-founded by partners including Jay-Z, Meek Mill and his close friend, Michael Rubin and Van Jones.
Taylor Swift gifts $30k to teen's college fund so she can pursue her dream of becoming a mathematician
Taylor Swift just forked over $30,000 to help a student take the next step toward realizing her dream of becoming a mathematician. Taylor apparently stumbled on a GoFundMe set up by Vitoria Mario, an 18-year-old Black woman who moved to the U.K. from Portugal in 2016 in pursuit of the best education she could get. As Vitoria explains in her GoFundMe appeal, her father passed away, her mother remains in Portugal and she spoke zero English when she relocated for school in 2016. Now, after scoring major high marks in secondary school, she's been offered a spot in the mathematics program at the University of Warwick. Because she lacks "home" status in the U.K. as a result of her immigration status, however, Vitoria says she's "ineligible for maintenance loans" and grants for school. Her family can't afford to help her out with school at this point, she explains, and her appeals for assistance from hundreds of companies were apparently fruitless. Enter Taylor Swift. "I came across your story online and am so inspired by your drive and dedication to turning your dreams into reality," Taylor commented on the GoFundMe. "I want to gift you the rest of your goal amount. Good luck with everything you do!" With Taylor's donation and, presumably, the attention it garnered for Vitoria's story, Vitoria had raised more than $58,000 as of Friday.
Heidi Klum requests hearing with Seal over their children's planned trip to Germany
Heidi Klum has asked for a hearing with her ex-husband, Seal, regarding her desire to take their four children with her to Germany to film "Next Top Model." According to court documents excerpted by ET, Heidi claims Seal "has not yet approved" her request to take Helene, 16, Henry, 14, Johan, 13, and Lou, 10, with her later this year. The issue seems to be his concern about the kids traveling during the pandemic. "I am well aware of all of the necessary precautions associated with the COVID-19 virus, and would never put our children at risk," Heidi says in the filing. She also claims that despite their shared custody agreement, Seal's visits with the children are "sporadic at best." Still, she says she would gladly change her custody schedule to accommodate his needs if he OKs the trip. She adds that Seal can see the kids while they're all in Germany, that they'd rather travel with her than stay with him in Los Angeles and that she's "desperate" to have them with her on the trip. The couple's eldest daughter, Helene, also submitted a statement saying she and her siblings want to go to Germany with their mother and that her younger siblings are "frightened" about the prospect of being away from her for "months." Helene also says the children would like the chance to visit their grandparents in Germany. A source tells ET the "Next Top Model" crew cannot travel or get work visas, as they normally would, because of the pandemic. The hearing is scheduled for Aug. 28. Heidi and Seal were married from 2005 until 2014. She's now married to Tom Kaulitz.
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson closes deal to buy the XFL
The Rock is officially back in the football biz. On Friday, Dwayne Johnson tweeted that he and his business partners have closed on their deal to buy the XFL after the football league went bankrupt. "The deal is official [sic] closed and 'the keys' to the XFL have been handed over," the star posted. "I humbly accept and promise to put my callouses to hard work building our new brand." He added, "Congrats to my partners @DanyGarciaCo & #GerryCardinale and our sharp, hungry team. #XFLOwner #ForTheLoveOfFootball." Dwayne, 48, won a national title as a football star for the University of Miami before he went into wrestling. He was recently named Forbes' highest-paid actor of 2020.
Scott Disick 'never felt more betrayed in his life' than when his 2020 rehab stint was leaked
Even members of Kourtney Kardashian's family were kept in the dark about Scott Disick's April rehab stint — until information about his visit was leaked online. "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" recently released a preview clip of the second half of Season 18, showing scenes pegged to Scott's reaction to the leak. "I heard that Scott went to rehab by seeing it online and it looks like someone at the facility leaked a photo of him. I feel really bad for him," Kim tells Kourtney in a phone call in the clip (via ET). Calling the situation "really, really so awful," Kourtney tells her sister that portions of Scott's one-on-one therapy sessions even made it into the press. "He said he's never been more betrayed in his life," Kourtney continues. "He's packing and he's definitely coming home. He's really upset. Especially [because] he was actually going to work on himself and his traumas. I think he absolutely should file a suit." She later says in a confessional, "Everyone deserves to deal with their past traumas in privacy." After the rehab news came out, Scott's lawyer told ET he sought help, "in an effort to finally come to terms and deal with the pain… due to the sudden death of his mother, followed by the death of his father three months later."
Chrissy Metz and Hal Rosenfeld have called it quits
Last winter, split rumors swirled around "This Is Us" star Chrissy Metz and composer Hal Rosenfeld. A few months later, though, the couple's red carpet appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of "Mulan" shortly before the pandemic seemed to nix the breakup chatter. Now, Page Six is reporting the two have called it quits, after all. Chrissy, 39, and Hal, 27, reportedly started dating in late 2018. Chrissy previously dated "This Is Us" cameraman Josh Stancil. Prior to that relationship, she was married to Martyn Eaden.
In a new essay for Guiding Post (via ET), Alex Trebek's wife, Jean Currivan Trebek, reflects on her husband's stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis and how she saw something was wrong before he was even tested. "We'd gone to Israel to visit the sites of the Holy Land in December 2018, taking our son and daughter, Matthew and Emily, then 27 and 24," she writes. "We'd finished dinner one night, and I looked across the table at Alex. His coloring seemed off. 'You feeling OK?' I asked. 'I'm good,' he said. Alex is not one to complain. But he admitted that he was having some stomach pains. I figured, OK, we were in a different country. Maybe it was something he ate." When they got home and Alex heard back from his doctors with the diagnosis, Jean writes it was as if "the bottom dropped out of my world." But the "Jeopardy!" host was calm as ever. "Right away he exhibited that same strength he'd always had, that steadiness and calm I drew from him," she recalls. "His attitude wasn't 'Why me?' but much more 'OK, what do we do?'" Now, while Jean still gets "really sad and angry" sometimes, Alex's illness is a "constant reminder of how precious life is," she writes. "No matter how resilient you are, cancer has a way of making you feel truly vulnerable," she admits.
