Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in mid-March 2020, starting with this surprise coupling… Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas — who connected while playing a married couple in the upcoming psychological thriller "Deep Water" (pictured) — sparked romance rumors in early March when fans spotted them hanging out together in her hometown of Havana, Cuba. And they weren't exactly shy about it, posing for photos at various restaurants and at an art museum. It's not the first time they've appeared cozy together: Back in January — a month before they wrapped shooting "Deep Water" in New Orleans — one lucky fan spied the A-list actor "spitting game" at the rising star during a night out in The Big Easy. On March 8 — a day after another spy caught them making out at a Havana airport — People magazine reported that, according to a source, the duo "are definitely dating." On March 11, DailyMail.com published photos of the pair looking cozy during what it described as a beach vacation in Costa Rica the previous weekend. Later, another source told People that Ben and Ana "had great chemistry right from the start" while working together on "Deep Water." Added the insider, "Ben always seemed very relaxed and happy around Ana, but at the time there were no signs of romance. He was very focused on making a fantastic movie. Season 24 of "The Bachelor" ended on March 10 with Peter Weber popping the question to Hannah Ann Sluss in Australia … after Madison Prewett walked away from the competition over her realization that she and the pilot are just too different. Hannah Ann happily accepted his proposal but called things off with him a couple months later (in January) when she realized he couldn't fully commit to her emotionally because he still had feelings for Madison … and for former love Hannah Brown. On the live "After the Final Rose" special, Hannah Ann said that when he proposed to her, Peter "downplayed" the fact that Madison left of her own volition. "I had no idea what I was saying yes to," she said, adding that she felt "blindsided" when she learned the truth two days after she accepted his proposal. She then noted that another "red flag" came when Peter told her he "wanted to reach out to Hannah Brown to find closure with her." Said Hannah Ann, "So really looking back at it, our engagement involved three women: Me, you still being in love with Madison and proposing to me, and you needing closure with Hannah Brown. That's three women involved in our engagement that I was completely blindsided to." In February, after Hannah Ann dumped him, Peter reunited with Madison. On the live portion of the finale — their first time seeing each other since their brief reunion — they revealed that they're still in love and plan on dating after taking some time to heal. "I don't know what this actually means right now," said Peter. "I know how we both feel about each other and I think taking it one step at a time, one day at a time is possibly the smartest way to go with this. … The way I feel for [her], that's never changed, and I've never lost that. Whatever that means, whatever this turns into, do we have a million and one obstacles? Yeah. Is it all uphill? Probably." Two days later, he took to Instagram to reveal that he and Madi "mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further." Wrote the pilot in the lengthy caption of a photo of himself, "Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure." He also thanked her for her "patience and unconditional love" and called her "the epitome of a woman who carries herself with grace, stands by what she believes in, and loves whole heartedly." He then addressed Hannah Ann, calling her "a strong, confident woman" who deserves "all the love in the world." Wrote Pete, "I accept full responsibility for my mistakes in our relationship and wish you only the best."

Meanwhile, in a preview for the March 13 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Hannah Ann Sluss described herself as single and "ready to mingle." During a rapid-fire round of questions with guest host Sean Hayes, she demurred when asked if Peter Weber is a good kisser: "I don't know about that one," she said, adding that although she doesn't "regret loving Peter," she regrets "trusting him." Sean then asked if she'll appear on the next season of "Bachelor in Paradise." Teased the brunette beauty, "There might be a bikini waiting for me. I don't know. Maybe." So who from Bachelor Nation would she most want to date? "I think this is the easiest question. Tyler Cameron," she said. Hannah Ann also revealed that Mario Lopez is her celebrity crush — "So handsome!" she gushed — and that David Spade slid into her DMs. "He's so nice," she said.

People magazine reported on March 11 that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom — who planned to tie the knot in Japan in June — have postponed their wedding plans … again … due to concerns over the spread of the new coronavirus worldwide. "The wedding is definitely postponed. Katy was actually really excited about walking down the aisle pregnant. She thought it would be funny and cute to be in her wedding dress with a baby bump," said a source. "All her friends were joking that it was so her luck because they've been totally ready to start a family for a while now." The insider added that the pop star — who revealed her pregnancy on March 4 — and the actor are only "a little disappointed" about the change in plans: "Now they can just enjoy their time together before the baby arrives," said the source. "They're going to pick up on wedding planning again after the baby arrives." Katy gushed about her beau — while also acknowledging that their relationship isn't perfect — on the March 6 episode of "On Air with Ryan Seacrest." Said the singer, "There's a lot of friction between my partner and I, but that friction breeds something beautiful. It can breed a lot of light." She later added, "I've picked a partner that makes sure to keep me evolving into the best version of myself." Meanwhile, Us Weekly reported on March 11 that Katy's first husband, Russell Brand, is "still sad over his divorce from her and was heartbroken by it" but "knows she will be an amazing mom."
Brad Pitt got tongues wagging after he was caught on camera watching a March 7 Thundercat concert in Los Angeles while seated next to a beautiful "mystery woman" … who was later identified as his longtime pal Alia Shawkat. TMZ published video of the duo, who also sparked romance rumors late last year, looking comfortable together while taking in the show but later reported that they're "not dating" and that their relationship is "not romantic" but "strictly platonic." According to the webloid, the A-list actor isn't dating anyone right now: "He doesn't feel any need to get back on the dating scene right now — his focus is elsewhere," writes TMZ. "He's much more involved in his kids' lives these days, so that's where most of his time and effort goes … followed by work and his sobriety."
In early March, Amanda Bynes stoked speculation that she and her fiancé, Paul Michael, had called it quits when she suddenly scrubbed all traces of him from her Instagram. On March 8, InTouch reported that the duo had, in fact, broken up — and that Paul confirmed the news himself, saying that in spite of the split, he still loves Amanda, whom he reportedly called his "best friend." Later that day, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Paul broke up with the former child star when he "realized the relationship just couldn't go forward because of the obstacles of [her] conservatorship." (When they first announced their engagement, there were reports that it was unlikely they'd ever actually tie the knot because Amanda's mother, who serves as her conservator, wouldn't consent to the marriage because she doesn't think it's in her daughter's best interest.) "Amanda is really upset about it and not taking it well at all," added the Us Weekly insider. Then on March 9, The Blast shed some light on why exactly Paul allegedly broke things off with Amanda: He reportedly had a change of heart after joining the Bynes family in court on March 5 to deal with matters concerning the former actress's conservatorship. According to the webloid, he "freaked out" when he realized how unwell Amanda is and that her current state could be a threat to his own sobriety. (A judge reportedly ordered the former actress to enter a psychiatric facility to undergo mental health treatment.) According to The Blast, Paul doesn't want "to do anything that would get him in trouble with the judge or others in this case" and is telling friends "he doesn't want to be blamed for her current mental health being in such bad shape — or for it getting worse over time." He also reportedly realized that Amanda wasn't being completely honest with him about "many of the details of her life." But then the plot thickened on March 10 — a day after Amanda posted a new selfie with Paul on Instagram, which she captioned, "my love." He told Page Six that they "never broke up" and that a hacker deleted the photos of them together and "sent DMs saying we broke up" to "make it seem like we broke up." He also revealed that he and the former "She's the Man" star have been together for six months — not three months, as previously reported.
It's time for another round of conflicting reports about the nature of Kylie Jenner's relationship with Travis Scott! On March 8, "Entertainment Tonight" reported that, according to a source, they're officially back together and "have been for about a month." Said the insider, "The couple has always had love and respect for one another but took a break last year because they both had so much going on. They couldn't fully focus on what it took to make the relationship work. Kylie exploded in the makeup world and was busy making a billion-dollar business and Travis was on tour and working on music. … Although things haven't slowed down much for the duo, they're better able to handle it." Added the "ET" source, "At the end of the day, the couple is happy to have their family back together." TMZ, however, painted a slightly different picture of Kylie's relationship with Travis. The webloid initially reported on March 8 that the makeup mogul and the rapper are "officially a thing again" and have been "for several weeks now" but are "not quite ready to put a title on their relationship, even though they regularly sleep under the same roof, share a child and don't see other people." TMZ then noted that Kylie and Travis "both benefited from last year's breakup" and that "the time apart was good for both parties because they needed some space." TMZ concluded by opining that Kylie and Travis "work well on several levels" because they have "a strong family bond" and "both lead full and successful professional lives." But later that day, another TMZ source said that the pair are "simply co-parenting" their daughter, Stormi Webster, and "support each other as friends" but are "not currently linked romantically."
On the extremely revealing and wide-ranging March 9 episode of Angela Yee's sex-themed "Lip Service" podcast, NeNe Leakes said it's OK if her husband, Gregg Leakes, cheats on her as long as she doesn't find out about it. "If Gregg wanted to go be with somebody right now, I would say, 'Go right on,'" she said. "Why am I going to try and keep him from doing something that he wants to do? Then I have to make a choice myself: if I want to stay with him or not. And I probably would stay with him." She then said they actually both do what they want but that neither of them wants to hear about it. "Whatever he's doing, I don't need to know about it," she said. "At this point, if you are doing anything, [it's OK] just as long as I don't know about it because you are really being disrespectful if I find out about it. … If I do find out, I feel like it's a conversation. I do. I don't feel like it's an exit unless … I really felt that he didn't love me. Then I'd be like, 'You know, it's time for me to part.' But I know he loves me. I don't believe that he would do anything at this point, but if he did, I'd be fine. I'd pay him back, though." She went on to say that it would be a bigger betrayal if she found out Gregg was providing financially for another woman. "That would be a real issue for me," she said. "I feel like that's more crossing the line than actually having sex." NeNe then detailed an incident last summer when she caught Gregg carrying on an inappropriate relationship with a woman named Juanita — a "cute little girl" who's "very much Gregg's type" whom they hired to manage their clothing boutique in Maryland. She found out they were talking via text and on FaceTime when a male employee outed them during an employee meeting. NeNe could tell the male employee wasn't lying, so she called Gregg during the middle of the meeting to confront him. He responded by getting overly emotional, which served as a confirmation that he had, in fact, been talking to the other woman. After they hung up, NeNe saw Juanita's phone buzz — presumably with a message from Gregg. "He was like, 'We never ever did anything. We just talked on the phone. We never talked about sex,'" recalled NeNe, who asked Gregg why he felt the need to talk to another woman in the first place. "His answer was, 'Cause you weren't here for me to talk to. … You were never available to talk to,'" she said, adding that they didn't speak "for a couple months" after that. "You have to go through a lot of things to survive [as long as we have]," she acknowledged. "Nobody's surviving 20, 30, 40 years and nothing's happened in their relationship, so we've had a lot happen in our relationship."
On March 10, Page Six reported that it's actually NeNe Leakes who's been carrying on an inappropriate relationship with someone in Maryland — a man named Rodney who works for the federal government whom she started seeing in May 2019 while launching a boutique there. "She spends a lot of time in Maryland not only because of this boutique, but also because of her side guy," said a source. "She flaunts her relationship with him around openly like they're together." According to the New York Post's gossip column, the reality star told her employees that she and her husband, Gregg Leakes, are "actually separated." As for the woman with whom Gregg allegedly had an inappropriate relationship via text and FaceTime, Page Six reports that he propositioned her because he was "looking for companionship." Said a source, "NeNe was always gone doing her own thing, so he gave [Juanita] an offer. If she played her cards right, he would pay for her mortgage, and give her a monthly allowance." (Juanita told Page Six that Gregg "never propositioned" her and that she "was a store manager" and "talked to him just like [NeNe's] other managers from her other locations talk to him.") The insider added that contrary to what NeNe said on Angela Yee's "Lip Service" podcast, when she confronted Gregg about Juanita, he told her that their romance took place "a long time ago." According to another source, NeNe has said that her husband's infidelity gave her "something to talk about" for her storyline on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Explained the insider, "[NeNe and Gregg's] relationship is pretty much a business relationship. NeNe has ideas, and Gregg can execute those ideas, and that's the only reason why they are together."
On the March 9 episode of Danny Pellegrino's "Everything Iconic" podcast, Brandi Glanville dished on some of the famous men she's romanced over the years — including former "Friends" co-stars David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc. "I initially went out with Matt LeBlanc," she said. "We went out together and my girlfriend went out with David, so we were all hanging out. Had one date with Matt — went back to his house, he let his dog lick his ice cream and I was out. I was like, 'Nope!' We were making out — I was totally gonna have sex with him — and then the dog licked the ice cream and then he licked the ice cream, and I was like, 'I can't.' I was very picky. … And then my girlfriend didn't like David and David and I had kind of hit it off on our [double] dates … so we dated." She and the erstwhile Ross Geller saw each other for "a few months," but there were some things about the actor that Brandi just couldn't get past: "He wore makeup. He wore concealer like out during the day, and I don't know why, but it really annoyed me," she said. "I understand, like, you're on set, you're used to wearing makeup, but I was not used to dating a man that wore makeup. Now everyone wears makeup — go for it, do it! But in the moment, it bothered me. And he told me — I remember this so well — that I was 'a bigger girl.' I was like, 109 pounds." She then clarified that she "slept with David" but "didn't sleep with Matt." Acknowledged the reality star, "I dated a lot. I made out a lot." She also "made out with one of the men in 'The Notebook,'" though she refused to specify if she was talking about James Marsden or Ryan Gosling … or one of their other co-stars. "They were single at the time — that's all I will say." But that's not where Brandi's hit list ends: She and Ashley Hamilton dated when she first arrived in Los Angeles, and she dated Ben Stiller "for a little while," she claimed, calling the "Zoolander" star "funny" and "handsome" before sharing an extremely complimentary, not-fit-for-print detail about his anatomy. She also addressed her headline-making hookup with Gerard Butler: "I was on 'Housewives,' but he did not know that and it really bothered him that I didn't tell him," she recalled. "He's lovely, honestly — he's very handsome, sexy. He was a little paranoid. He kept looking out the window to see if there were paparazzi everywhere. But it was fine. It was good. It was a long time ago."
After Kenya Moore and Marc Daly announced their plans to call it quits in September 2019, there were reports that the restauranteur "had multiple affairs" during their marriage. The following month, the reality star said that infidelity was "not our issue." But on the March 8 episode of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," Kenya revealed that she did, in fact, question her husband's fidelity when she caught him exchanging inappropriate text messages with an ex-girlfriend. "One of the women was begging him to keep the sex going even though he was married. … She was like, 'You make me feel this way, that way, is there any way we can keep this going?'" she recalled, adding that the communication between the two continued after she confronted him about it and told him that she felt his behavior was inappropriate. Eventually, Kenya called the other woman to confront her too: "She answered the phone and I said, 'You might want to take me off the speakerphone — this is Mrs. Marc Daly.' … And I proceeded to let her know if she came anywhere else near my husband, I know where she lives," said Kenya, adding that the phone call led to a "big blow out" with Marc. "I'm like, 'What did I marry? What is going on here?'" she told her co-stars. "We had talked about separating, and Marc is like, 'I was wrong for that. I'm sorry.' And I just said, 'OK. That was your one mess-up.'" Kenya later said during a confessional that she missed some of the "red flags" regarding Marc: "When you're excited and you're in love and you feel hopeful, you ignore the red flags," she said. "The last few weeks have taught me you can't believe who someone says they are, you have to believe who someone shows you who they are." Kenya also revealed on the March 8 episode of "RHOA" that she only filed for divorce after she heard from her publicist that Marc was planning to release a statement announcing their breakup. "He kind of forced my hand," she said, adding that "everything just happened so fast." She went on to accuse Marc of fighting dirty when they have disagreements: "Every time he gets mad, he goes in. He goes for my throat," she said. "It's like, he can't stop until he feels like he's just destroyed me."
Us Weekly reported on March 5 that, according to a source, Chris Pratt was "very insecure about himself" before he started dating his second wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, and "never felt good enough" for his first wife, Anna Faris. "When their relationship started to go downward, he was angry and not liking who he was," said the insider. "Katherine really changed all of that and Chris has a much healthier self-image now. … He goes out with friends more and is overall just much happier. Chris is much more laid-back with Katherine and is so comfortable and happy." During a March 8 interview with Us Weekly, Katherine gushed that she and her husband "try to be each other's greatest cheerleaders," which she described as "very important to the both of us." Added the writer, "When you have a partner who can love and support you throughout everything, that's the greatest gift ever. I've always felt incredibly supported by my siblings and my parents, but to have that in a partner and in my husband is another amazing gift to have."
During a March 2 interview with Us Weekly, Tarek El Moussa said that marriage "is definitely in the future" for him and his girlfriend of less than a year, Heather Rae Young. "Right now we're taking it one day at a time," he said. "But everything's going amazing." He also gushed of the "Selling Sunset" star, "She's always my biggest cheerleader, she always supports me and she just makes me want to be better and do better."
On the March 6 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Justin Bieber echoed wife Hailey Bieber's previous claim that their parents secretly arranged their marriage. While discussing how they met on the "Today" show set in 2009 when they were just kids, the pop star said, "I'm pretty sure she didn't want to be there. Her dad [Stephen Baldwin] dragged her out of bed in the morning and basically was like — I think because she was raised Christian and [her parents] found out [we were Christian]. … I think it was an arranged marriage. I'm pretty sure. Looking back now, it was definitely an arranged marriage. They set this whole thing up. … No, but since she was raised Christian [her dad was] like, 'Oh, I want to introduce you to Justin and his mom. They have similar values and believe the same thing. We think you would be good friends.' It was definitely an arranged marriage now that I'm thinking about it."
The Daily Mail reported on March 6 that Anya Taylor-Joy is dating photographer Ben "Pip" Seed, who was recently caught on camera pecking her on the cheek. "They make a lovely couple," said a friend of the duo, who reportedly met when he was booked to shoot her. (He took to Instagram on Valentine's Day to share a stunning portrait of the 23-year-old rising star.) In 2018, there were reports that the "Emma" actress was engaged to Irish actor Eoin Macken, who's 14 years her senior.
Chris Randone created confusion about the status of his relationship with Krystal Nielson when he tweeted while watching the finale of season 24 of "The Bachelor" on March 9, "On a side note…I miss my wife." Two days later, when a fan asked if he and Krystal are, like, "over over," the Bachelor Nation star replied, "no lol, not even close." On Feb. 14, the former "Bachelor in Paradise" stars released a joint statement announcing that they were separating after less than a year of marriage.
In other Bachelor Nation news… On the March 10 finale of season 24 of "The Bachelor," Clare Crawley reflected on her "empowering" split from Juan Pablo Galavis on season 18 of "The Bachelor" in 2014: "I do not regret that moment, and I would not change that moment for anything," she said. "I had been through some pretty terrible relationships, and I was that girl that let guys walk all over me, and I had never stood up for myself ever before. And it was just one of the greatest moments of my life to finally stand up there and say, 'None of it is OK.' And not just to him but to essentially every guy that ever hurt me before and took advantage of me. It was like, 'No more.'" The blonde beauty, who's set to headline the upcoming 16th season of "The Bachelorette," added that she "never will give up" on her quest to find true love. "As I developed more self-esteem, more self-worth, even more so I'm deserving of it, as everybody is," she said.
TMZ reported on March 5 that Brooke Burke and David Charvet recently finalized their divorce nearly two years after she first filed to legally end their marriage. They've reportedly agreed to share 50/50 legal and physical custody of their two children and will split all expenses for the kids right down the middle. Brooke is walking away from the marriage with a home in Malibu and a condo in Santa Monica as well as two fitness companies while David is holding onto another Malibu property and a few more companies. They're also splitting their bank accounts and plan to divvy up their joint art collection at a later date. Neither will pay spousal support or child support.
Niecy Nash is one step closer to legally ending her marriage to Jay Tucker: TMZ reported on March 10 that the duo recently signed off on a property settlement indicating that the "Claws" star is walking away from the marriage with a house in Bell Canyon, California, a 2016 Tesla and her production company, Chocolate Chick, while her ex is holding onto a 2011 Ford F-150 as well as more than $184K from his share of the proceeds from another property he and Niecy sold. They've each waived the right to spousal support. Their divorce will reportedly be finalized on June 21.
During an interview with Us Weekly that hit the Internet on March 5, American Young's Jon Stone said that "there's no possible way" his ex-girlfriend, reality star Brittainy Taylor, is over their relationship … even though she's been with PJ Kellogg for months. "[You can] see the heartache coming from miles away," he said of his ex's new romance, which kicked off just months after their relationship of four and a half years came to an end last summer. He went on to say that "so many things would have to change" before he and the "Very Cavallari" star could ever reconcile. "I'm not quite sure I ever want to do that ever again," he said. "In my mind, I had made a commitment to her, so [I thought it was] just a rough time and we need to explore avenues to fall in love again. She just felt differently and that's OK. It was just alarming to me. It was really disheartening, and it was just really sad. It really." Jon then said that he only ever appeared on "Very Cavallari" because he "wanted to be close to Brittainy" and "wanted to make her happy," but ultimately, the show contributed to their split. "Reality television was a vehicle for our breakup. If you throw money or fame on people, it's only going to accentuate who they really are," he said. "Brittainy's life was she was my girlfriend. I was always the breadwinner, having the success, being in the public eye. She would do red carpets with me. So this was a chance for her not to be my girlfriend and for me to be the boyfriend for once. I didn't mind being a plus one. It was nice. … The weird part is where the relationship blurred between reality and television. It was almost like we forgot that this is a show for entertainment purposes." He then confirmed that the American Young song "Some Girl" is "100 percent" about Brittainy — specifically the time she told him in a sushi restaurant that she kissed somebody else at a bar. "We had discussed we weren't in love. Maybe I didn't realize the relationship is over," he said. "I thought maybe we do something healthy and constructive like go to counseling, figure out how to communicate and take time. It really affected me and it was really upsetting. I didn't know what to do. When I feel things, I write them down. Every word of the song is true. She'll be some girl to me, but she won't be my whole world anymore. That's what it means."
During a March 9 chat with Us Weekly, Kaley Cuoco said that it wasn't "love at first sight" when she first met her husband, Karl Cook. "We had met and it was like a weird meeting. It kind of happened later," she said, adding that she and her hubby, who've never lived together, are finally approaching a move-in date nearly two years after tying the knot. "I'm actually excited. We're totally ready, you know," she said. "We do both travel a lot, which I think is very healthy. Our time at home is minimal, which makes us super appreciate it." The duo have been building their "dream house" for years.
Aww! On the March 6 episode of "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Selena Gomez said that she "was in love with Cole Sprouse" during his "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" days. "I was obsessed with that show, and I thought we were going to be together one day," she said. "Then I guest starred on the show, but I kissed his brother and I didn't get to kiss Cole." Added the singer-actress, who's pictured with the Sprouse twins and fellow Disney Channel star Brenda Song, "It was my first kiss … on camera. It was one of the worst days of my life."
On the March 5 episode of "Hot Ones," Pete Davidson attributed his fame to his ex-fiancée, Ariana Grande. "It's really annoying cause, like, I live in Staten Island and [people] come there now 'cause like, Ariana Grande made me all famous and stuff. It's all her fault. It is! … She sent the wolves on me. She made me, created me — whatever they say." The duo called it quits in late 2018.
During a March 5 interview with Jimmy Hill for "The Capital Evening Show," Camila Cabello said that she and her boyfriend, Shawn Mendes, want to make more music together but can't because they're too busy "being in our twenties." Said the singer, "Just like being in love is exhausting, it takes it out of you." Added the chart-topper, "We can't even go to the studio. … We're trying to calm down!" When Jimmy asked if Camila and Shawn are "too busy in other ways," she quickly shut him down. "No, no. I meant emotionally! Dang it!" she said.
On the March 6 episode of E!'s "In the Room," Chip Gaines said that although his romance with wife Joanna Gaines seems unobtainable, "anybody can have it." Said the "Fixer Upper" star, "At the end of the day, I love Jo more than anything in the world, and I think that when you start experimenting with this idea that 'I love something more than I love myself' — and I'm an arrogant, self-centered freak — [that's when you can find it]."
