Dakota Johnson wasn't trying to stare at Angelina Jolie after all
Give a girl a break! Dakota Johnson ended up at the center of chatter about Angelina Jolie's reaction to Jennifer Aniston's presentation onstage at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, but she thinks it's a little unfair to blame her for any residual drama for a couple reasons. As Jimmy Fallon reminded Dakota when she stopped by "The Tonight Show" this week, she was photographed seemingly staring at her table mate — and Brad Pitt's ex — Angelina, while Brad's other ex, Jen, was onstage talking. The snap ended up going viral. "Jennifer Aniston was on stage talking and then here's you and you're just staring at Angelina Jolie's reaction," Jimmy said, showing the image to the audience (via E! News). Dakota defended herself by pointing out that Elizabeth Chambers also seemed to be looking Angie's way at the time. "Yeah but so is Armie's wife," Dakota insisted "I'm not the only one, Elizabeth is like very blatantly looking at her. She's like, 'What is she gonna do?' And I was trying to be sly about it." Besides, Angelina wasn't even on her mind when she was spotted staring sideways. "Truthfully, I don't think that I was really, actually looking at her," Dakota said. "If you follows the trajectory of my eyes I was looking over there. There was like an actual kids' table which was the 'Stranger Things' table, and I really love 'Stranger Things' so much … everybody there is a famous person but I was trying to take a video of these kids!"

Will Kendall Jenner and Blake Griffin's romance survive his move to Detroit?
This can't be great news for Kendall Jenner and Blake Griffin. It looks like Kendall's Los Angeles Clippers star love interest is being traded to the Detroit Pistons, forcing him to relocate from Southern California for the first time in his career. The rumored $171 million deal, first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, has Blake covering power forward duties for the next five years. The trade comes on the heels of reports Kendall, 22, and the 29-year-old NBA player have been "cooling off," although Kendall was recently courtside for Blake's loss against the Boston Celtics. Kendall's expectant sister, Khloe Kardashian, recently moved to Cleveland to be closer to her basketball-playing beau. Kendall and Blake, on the other hand, don't seem to have ever pursued a relationship as serious as Khloe and Tristan Thompson's.

Amber Rose shares an update on her recovery from breast reduction surgery
With her breast reduction surgery in the bag, Amber Rose is starting to get excited about what a future without size 36H breasts might mean for her daily comfort. On Instagram Story on Sunday, Jan. 28, Amber updated her fans about her recovery process from the procedure. "I was really, really big and I think now I might actually just be a D cup, which is like really small for me," she said (via E! News ). "I have been online shopping, getting like cute little shirts and little strapless little things." Amber also said her legs remain "really, really sore" from the cellulite treatment she underwent but that the bruising and swelling has dissipated. As SlutWalk advocate told The Cut a couple of years ago, women need the power to be comfortable with themselves above all. "Embrace the skin that you are in," she said at the time. "If you really do want to change, put your mind to it. Try to work out and eat better. I love cheeseburgers and tacos. Those are my two favorite things. I'll probably never have the perfect body and I'm okay with that. As a celebrity now, I embrace it and I embrace my curves. I have a platform to help other women embrace it as well."
Mandy Moore says divorce 'emboldened' her
The new year is already full of promise for Mandy Moore, whose work on the hit show "This Is Us" recently earned her and her costars a SAG Award for Best Ensemble Cast. Mandy has plenty to be excited about when it comes to her personal life, too. She's engaged to Dawes' singer Taylor Goldsmith. As she tells Cosmopolitan in the magazine's new cover story, she's also enjoyed some personal growth from having divorced Ryan Adams. "It's a combination of getting older and wiser and going through the hard knocks of a divorce. You realize, I'm not going to take anyone's s—," Mandy mused. "It's emboldened me. There's power in saying no and in asking for what you deserve. There is power in knowing your value … I know myself better now. I know what I want and what I deserve." That self-awareness comes at a time when lots of women in her industry and others are standing up for themselves and each other in a way they haven't been able to do in the past. "We're having a real cultural reckoning — one that's definitely past due," she said in reference to the Me Too and Time's Up movements. She went on to say she hopes more women will continue to speak out about their experiences and that she believes we'll soon start seeing more women in more roles in the entertainment industry. Said Mandy: "I think it's going to help women ascend to the top faster."
Is Zayn Malik teasing a new album?
If Zayn Malik's fans are reading the clues right, he could be on the verge of releasing a new album. The former One Direction member posted what he called a "Morning Zoem" on Instagram on Monday, Jan. 29. "Like a shameless flower / cries at every wedding, you don't have feelings you just have petals," read the text, which appeared over an image of Zayn holding a light saber. "'There is no meaning it's just aesthetics. Then to ask me, i'd say pathetic is the only one that fits and wins inside a world of acronyms," he continued. "Twisted shapes of acrobats inside a mesh of flesh and bone is an underlying desperate tone to the world of real authentic the iPhone likes preventing this place of role play … I think we like pretending as if our fun in never ending. No one speaks, just message sending. It's a silent planet — wait, it's pending." According to the Daily Mail, the "zoem" sparked fans to suggest he has new music on the way. When he posted a video accompanied by his voice later on the same day, the theories reportedly became more pronounced on social media. If the singer releases a new album, it would be his first since his 2016 solo debut, "Mine of Mine."
Is Megyn Kelly jealous of Katie Couric's Olympics gig?
More Megyn Kelly drama? In its latest scathing report about the "Today" host, the New York Post cites sources quoted as saying Megyn "threw an Olympic fit" when Katie Couric was picked to cover the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony in Pyeongchang, South Korea, next month. According to one insider, Megyn got an OK when she signed her contract to dodge special event assignments but the network allowed her the option to "say 'yes' or 'no'" to such gigs. When Megyn learned Katie would be covering the Opening Ceremony, says a source, "[She] complained to her staff, she complained to her agent, so that [NBC News chairman Andrew Lack] would hear about the fact that she was unhappy, but he didn't care." The source added that Andy now thinks Megyn is "a diva" and won't be inviting her into the "NBC News . … inner circle." A source described as an "NBC News insider" has already thrown cold water on the rumors, telling the Post there's "zero truth" to the claims about Megyn's alleged fit — especially since "the inevitable brutal reviews" of the ceremony make it an unappealing broadcast gig. The insider also said "no one at NBC has ever heard [Andy] ever use the word 'diva' about anyone." Neither Megyn's nor the network's reps have commented.
Khloe Kardashian can't wait for the 'nesting' stage of her pregnancy
Khloe Kardashian is nearing the finish line of her pregnancy and with just about two months to go, she's opening up on her app about her anticipation of her third trimester. "I heard later in your third trimester you go through a stage called 'nesting' where you just want to clean and organize everything," she posted on the app on Monday, Jan. 29. "My sisters said I would love that, LOL. So I am actually looking forward to it. I just want everything organized and planned and as perfect as possible before the baby comes." It will be baby No. 1 for Khloe and her boyfriend, Cleveland Cavaliers star Tristan Thompson. They have not announced the baby's gender and Khloe recently admitted she's still struggling with ideas for a name.
Twitter is all about Tom Hanks' new role as Mister Rogers
Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers could turn out to be the most popular casting decision of the year. Variety recently reported Tom will star in a new biopic about the late children's show veteran and it seems Twitter couldn't be more pleased. Among the reactions excerpted by Us Weekly were comparisons of the two "national treasures," a few tweets about the perfection of the choice because, as one user pointed out, "who doesn't like either of those guys??" and a fan who posted, "Tom hanks playing mr. Rodgers is something I didn't realize I needed." Other tweets veered to higher-level concerns: "Every once in a while, the Universe is in PERFECT alignment to briefly brush away some of the nasty sludge of reality. Tom Hanks playing Mr. Rogers is one of those moments," declared a user. Another thanked the "universe" and joked, "*wipes away tears of gratitude.*" We saved the best for last, though: "Tom Hanks is playing Mr. Rogers in his biopic, in humanity's last ditch effort to convince the aliens not to destroy us." Fair enough.
Paul Haggis' sexual assault accuser wants his extortion case dismissed
In the wake of Paul Haggis' request to have a rape case against him dismissed, his alleged victim is asking the court to dismiss the director's extortion case against her. The New York Post reports publicist Haleigh Breest, who claims Paul raped her in 2013, is also requesting Paul — who maintains Haleigh offered him $9 million in exchange for not filing suit against him — pay sanctions. "This case is a rapist's attempt to silence and intimidate his victim," Haleigh's lawyers told the court in documents filed this month. As for the $9 million claim, her lawyers said: "This case is a transparent public relations stunt … It is an attempt to litigate … the well-known rapist's defense of 'blame the victim.' It is a scare tactic designed to intimidate Ms. Breest and other women," according to the Post. Speaking to the tab, lawyers for Paul said their motion to dismiss Haleigh's case is based on their belief she simply wants to ruin him. "It is entirely appropriate to seek recourse through the court when, as here, someone threatens to destroy another's life with false assertions unless they get $9 million dollars in hush money. His claim relates solely to Ms. Breest's conduct …. it prevents no legitimate victim from reporting harm … or seeking judicial relief," the lawyers said. Leah Remini has spoken out about the case as well, accusing the Church of Scientology of being behind Haleigh's claim.
Luann de Lesseps has a post-arrest 'plan B'
If at first you don't succeed … Luann de Lesseps has a suggestion for ya. "If 'Plan A' didn't work. The alphabet has 25 more letters! Stay cool," the "Real Housewives of New York City" shared on Instagram this week, captioning the post, "Try again #life #planB." Luann knows something about being forced to find her Plan B, too. She was arrested in Palm Beach, Florida on Christmas Eve for "disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer," according to Us Weekly. Since then, however, she seems to have been in reset mode, courtesy of rehab and yoga. Last month, the New York Post reported Luann was also planning to host a cabaret show at Feinstein's in the Big Apple beginning in February.
