But a source tells ET the actress is also careful to carve out mother-daughter time for Suri Cruise, 14. According to ET's insider, that's just what she did over the holiday weekend. On Saturday, Nov. 27, Katie, Suri and Emilio reportedly hung out together in the morning before Katie whisked her daughter off for some girls' time upstate while Emilio stayed home. "Katie and Emilo have been inseparable since they officially became a couple," dished the source. "He adores Suri and they get along great, but Katie has always been really good about ensuring she and Suri continue to have a lot of quality time just the two of them." Ryan Reynolds takes a 'hard pass' on campaign to rename a Vancouver street in his honor
Ryan Reynolds is not interested in having a street named after him in his Canadian hometown. After spotting a fan petition that demands the "Deadpool" star have "a street or at least a lane" in Vancouver renamed in his honor, Ryan weighed in on the pitch on Twitter. "Very kind but hard pass," he tweeted over the weekend. "If traffic sucks everyone will say, 'Ryan Reynolds is a mess' or 'Ryan Reynolds is really backed up,'" he quipped. Then there's the matter of teasing. As Ryan put it: "My brothers would enjoy this too much." The petition surfaced earlier this month via Vancouver's "The Kevin and Sonia Show with Tara Jean," which asks Vancouver's mayor to honor the city's "favorite son," because he "has proudly helped elevate the positive profile of his hometown to a worldwide audience." The petition also suggests that while the city tends to name "streets after people who have passed" only, some exceptions to the rule exist. "PLUS technically Ryan Reynolds is Dead(pool)," the petition's writers joked.

It's been a year of canceled plans and anxiety, for sure, but as Billie Eilish says in a new video for Vanity Fair, 2020's also been a time for personal growth and change — including in a physical sense. "I did get a tattoo," she says in the clip when asked to reflect on what she accomplished this year. (Alas, she added, "you won't ever see it," and given her taste for comfy clothes, she's probably right.) On the music front, the 18-year-old muses about how 2020's allowed her creative juices to flow. "I have made and created things that I don't think I would have ever created. I feel so much more confident in my writing. I feel like I know myself better…I love it [songwriting] so much more, I actually really do it enjoy now and I do feel I'm pretty good at it now, to be honest with you," she says with pride. Finally, Billie admits it's been a time of self-education with regard to social justice issues and more. "I learned so much more about the way people are living that I wasn't aware of before. The climate crisis and social injustice and all the bad things made me think differently," she explains. "I will never stop fighting for all the Black and Brown people who have lost their lives to police brutality."

Laverne Cox reveals she was targeted in a transphobic attack last weekend
Laverne Cox is in a state of shock after she and a friend were targeted in a transphobic attack while walking in a park in Los Angeles over the weekend. In a post on Instagram Live (via People), the Emmy Award winning actress recounted how a man came up to the pair and "aggressively asked for the time." She went on to say the man then asked her friend, "Guy or girl?," clearly referencing Laverne. "My friend says, 'F– off.' I'm walking — I'm hearing all this happening in a split second — and then all of a sudden, the guy is attacking my friend," Laverne continued. She said she tried to grab her phone "to call 911," but said the man who had been "hitting" her friend "was gone" before she could get help or record the incident. "I'm safe, my friend is fine," she said, adding that she's been harassed on the street plenty of times before. "It's not safe in the world," she said. "I don't like to think about it a lot, but it is the truth — it's the truth, and it's not safe if you're a trans person." Laverne said her friend told her it was clear to him she was the target of the assault. "I've dealt with this a lot, but it never fails to be shocking," she said in the lengthy video. "If doesn't matter who you are. You can be Laverne Cox, whatever that means. If you're trans, you're going to experience stuff like this." Before logging off, Laverne added: "It's important for me to remind myself and remind you that when these things happen, it's not your fault. It's not your fault that there are people who are not cool with you existing in the world. … We have a right to walk in the park."

Rihanna and rapper A$AP Rocky are still giving off secret couple vibes. That's according to a spy for Page Six, which reports the flirty pair stepped out for a romantic evening at New York City's Beatrice Inn on Saturday, Nov. 28. According to the outlet, the stars were "seated discreetly behind a curtain" at the classic, upscale restaurant and cocktail venue. Rock and Rih were last seen together in a "15 Questions" video for Vogue. The rapper also appeared in Rihanna's new campaign for Fenty Skin in July.
U.K. culture secretary: 'The Crown' needs a fact or fiction disclaimer
The U.K.'s Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport wants Netflix to add a disclaimer about the historical inaccuracies featured in its royal family period drama, "The Crown." "It's a beautifully produced work of fiction," Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden tells The Mail on Sunday, "… so as with other TV productions, Netflix should be very clear at the beginning it is just that." He said without a disclaimer, he's concerned "a generation of viewers who did not live through these events may mistake fiction for fact." Dowden added that he expects to contact producers of the show — which stars Emma Corrin in a breakout role as the young Princess Diana — this week about his request. His comments come a week after Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, told ITV he's concerned about the fictional nature of much of the show. "Americans tell me they have watched 'The Crown' as if they have taken a history lesson. Well, they haven't," he said, according to Deadline. "It is very hard, there is a lot of conjecture and a lot of invention, isn't there? You can hang it on fact but the bits in between are not fact."
Anderson Cooper shares an homage to late chef Anthony Bourdain
More than two years after Anthony Bourdain's unexpected death, Anderson Cooper paid tribute to his late friend on "Anderson Cooper 360″ our most food-centric holiday. Before sharing a clip from 2015 of the pals cooking up some Sunday Gravy together on the Thanksgiving episode Anderson recalled how Anthony used to regale Anderson with travel stories while throwing in cooking tips. "I was proud to call Anthony Bourdain a friend," he said, according to Delish. "Some of my favorite memories of him beyond his remarkable body of work on CNN and [on] other networks before us, was being with him in the kitchen. … In Anthony's 61 years he visited more than 80 countries, many of them multiple times, and he was really a citizen of the world, as well as a guy from New Jersey." The Garden State reference turned out to be a hint at one of the many funny moments in the clip — when Anthony jokes that the two kinds of people in America are as follows: "Those who come from New Jersey and admit it and those who come from New Jersey and are lying." After the clip, Anderson tells viewers, "It is so great to hear his voice. He is so, so missed by so many."
Andy Samberg on how 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' address police brutality, systemic racism
For all its challenges, 2020 has started to spark some long overdue change in the pop culture world — including for the hit cop sitcom, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." Speaking to Variety's "Awards Circuit" podcast recently, Andy Samberg opened up about how the series will tackle police brutality and systemic racism, while staying true to its comedy roots. He also had some sharp criticism for anyone opposed to the new diversity standards being enforced by the Academy, which he pointed out are "very easily" met without making drastic changes ("people who have problems with it can f— off," he snapped). As for "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," Andy said the goal is to strike a balance between a realistic representation of police and a continuation of character development that works for viewers. "The challenge is going to be being honest about what is going on in the world and not shying away from the fact that there are serious problems and also not punishing viewers who like our show and care about our characters. But I do believe that our characters need to examine their roles in the world. They're going to be forced to look in the mirror and see who they're complicit with," he said. "We've certainly never acted as if all police are innocent outside of our squad. In fact, I think we have a ton of episodes that are specifically about how there's a lot of corruption and breaking protocol," he added. Ultimately, the "SNL" alum said, "… if we're looking for a half-hour comedy show to be the ones to solve this problem, we're in trouble. … Our job is pointing out that stuff isn't getting done right and spreading the word that we're (really) hopeful that it can get better."
Cardi B apologizes, then defends herself amid criticism over 37-person Thanksgiving
Despite widespread warnings that getting tested for the coronavirus wouldn't be enough to avoid spreading it at a large Thanksgiving gathering, Cardi B hosted nearly 40 people for dinner — and then apologized … sort of. Social media posts from the rapper showed her excitedly sharing how she had "12kids and 25 adults" at her holiday get-together. "Sorry my bad wasn't trying to make nobody feel bad.I just had my family in my home for the first time and it felt so good & uplifted me," she tweeted as backlash began to pour in. "I spent soo much money getting every1 tested but it felt worth it.I wasnt trying to offend no1." In another tweet, she told critics of her test defense who'd pointed to the long latency period for COVID-19 and the commonly inaccurate tests that she and everyone she interacts with has been getting tested "literally 4 times a week." That didn't quell the criticism, though. "You had 37 people over your house during a pandemic," wrote on Twitter user. "Even if you dont think of yourself as a role model many fans will see your Thanksgiving as not taking COVID seriously. Also testing folks alone isn't going to work. It has a two week incubation period." Cardi's response? "People be trying too hard to be offended. I wonder how they survive the real world."
'Mean Girls' alum Jonathan Bennett is engaged!
Jonathan Bennett, aka the erstwhile Aaron Samuels of "Mean Girls" fame, is officially off the market after getting engaged to his boyfriend, Jaymes Vaughan. As the hubbies-to-be told People in an interview published Monday, Nov. 30, Jaymes popped the question after writing an original song for Jonathan while the actor was in Canada filming The Hallmark Channel's "The Christmas House." Recalling how Jaymes had told him photographers were coming over to take family Christmas card photos, Jonathan, 39, said he noticed "no one would look me in the eye" and got a little suspicious. "My sister shouted for me to come outside 'real quick' and my F.O.M.O. kicked in so I ran outside," Jonathan said. "Then I looked over and saw Jaymes holding a sign that said, 'We never did find our song, so I wrote it for you.' That's when I knew was getting proposed to because it was the same type of sign he made when he told me he loved me for the first time. And then I began to ugly-cry the ugliest cry anyone has ever cried." Jaymes, who co-hosts the show, "Celebrity Page," boasted that "every single part of the song was personal to Jonathan," saying, "I just wanted him to feel like the most special person in those three minutes of first hearing the song." Jonathan went on to admit he kind of "blacked out" from the emotional overload (and "ugly" crying), but managed to walk over to Jaymes, who was on one knee. "When I saw Jaymes take a knee I was so excited I just started hysterically screaming because I didn't know how to express myself properly," Jonathan said. "There was a moment when you feel like, 'Oh, this is forever, I understand it.' I screamed 'yes' immediately. Actually it was, 'Yes! Of course!'"
